As far as I am concerned now is the time to draw a line under the Leigh Lanham Saga, no matter what we say or do it won't change the situation. It is a crying shame what has happened to him and today is his birthday, nice present Rebels promotion !!! Leigh Lanham Line drawn !!! Keep smiling Leigh --------------------------

If you can read properly, I was talking in past tense !
-
Thanks Cliffeboy, I get very passionate about cases like this and I used to support speedway years ago when loyalty and commitment were rewarded and winning the league was not the B all and End all of the sport we love !!!
-
Looks like the poor chap's out to grass then! It's criminal what has been done to the guy. Came to rebels with the promise he would up his game, which he has done and then they let him go and because of that upped average he is almost unemployable, tragic. I hope the Rebels promotion are proud of what they have done to Leigh at a bad time of the year and if they don't make the play offs --- Tuff ! They don't deserve to !
-
Is that on the last averages, will he still figure in next months and would be lower taking into consideration the rides he's undertaken in August
-
I'm sure he would !!! Long old drive for the boy from Ipswich !!! But it would be great to see Leigh fixed up, loyalty counts for nothing these days!
-
We can't be sure on that !

After all is said and done, Leigh Lanham was a late signing for Rebels this year due to certain snags with Holder and Dilger. He filled the gap that May was looking to fill and he did it admirably. It suited Rebels and Leigh for him to join the PL outfit. He gave it his best and was immaculately turned out both personally and mechanically. He always had an encouraging or congratulating word for other team members and, for me was the fans idea of a stalwart team member. I hope Leigh finds another berth in a team purely for his experience and old school values and what he could offer in advice and example to more junior riders. Rebel Fans will always have an affectionate welcome for Leigh Lanham at the Oaktree Arena when he visits us, in whatever role he is in ! Cheers for now Leigh Lanham, like your father Mike, a true gent.

Leigh Lanham's replacement is Rasmus Jensen. Hope it all works out and that it justifies releasing a stalwart like Lanham at the late stage of the season !
-
Well I don't know where that has come from because it certainly hadn't filtered through to our notice!!! Are you somebody that is on the inside and knows more than most ? The only calls for release we have heard is for Worrall !

And so Worral has cut the mustard has he ? Read your race cards before you pass comment on something. Compo didn't cut the mustard for over 3 months but May stuck with him !!! English guy bites dust in favour of foreigner ! !! -

Leigh is an utter gentleman, he wouldn't complain and that is why the comic duo of May and Hancock have ousted him!!! He was easy prey !!! Either way it stinks !!! -

I am a general speedway supporter, it just happens that Rebels home track is where I happen to live. Brady Kurtz is a young kid and full of all the enthusiasm and the drive we all have or have had at that age and I admire that but he needs to toe the line or otherwise his near to the edge of controlled riding is going to bite him and possibly someone else ! He is a winner at all costs type of rider and that is dangerous. He must learn that, not only does he have two opponents on the track with him but also a team mate. He was very close to taking out Josh last night on top of the Workington incident which, as a scoring manoeuvre was unnecessary. He broke his arm last year needlessly trying for a last race win to secure a maximum and we lost him for the remainder of the season. He could have stayed where he was in that race and still got a paid max and his arm intact, but no, win at all costs was his drive. He is doing well as a guest with other clubs and that is good, because he is earning and getting in track time which, at his tender age is invaluable. IMO, he needs to back off of the mike a bit and pinch himself and take heed that, he is trying to run before he can walk properly. Good excitement value and good entertainment but not professional or safe. Wake up Brady. -

I saw Kurtz after the match in the Oaktree. He looked pale and drawn and didn't have any spark. He has been over doing the guest bit and Somerset are suffering because of it. He has to think before he acts. The "Win at all costs" attitude doesn't work, he has to take a more tactical look at his riding and remember he has a team mate on the track!!! Why do you always have to reduce a thread to insults and abuse? -

Hopefully we have a good meeting, I have admiration for Edie Club and I am sure it will be close. I hope Brady can keep a lid on his win at all costs tendencies and keeps a square head on his shoulders and not just launch himself without telling himself where he is going. Should be a good un and may the best team win ! Rebels that is !!! Be safe everyone. -

Stop start tonight got on my pip !!! It's about time Mizz Hancock invested in a west sheltering sun screen. i.e. a 120ft X 10ft sponsors banner ! Simples !!! -
I am not being partisan but taking into account the way the lad goes there and the fact that he appears to be "Doubling-Up" with Rebels and Tigers at the moment and really likes the track, my money will go on Kurtz because if he is on it, I can see him spoiling the party for more likely contestants !!!

Good points "jenga" I hadn't looked at it like that, I am still getting over the shock of Rebels losing at home !!! I'm glad there is somebody else as cynical as me in their thoughts !!!
