  1. As you say " I (you) wasn't there" !!! It was totally out of character for Paul to react like he did to Fisher and I am not condoning it BUT in his defence, Fisher had ridden him out to the fence on the home straight the lap before to such an extent that the track staff were pointing at the mark left by Pauls footrest left on the gravel boards all the way up the straight !!! It was totally reckless !!! Paul was very lucky to keep it all together and survive what could have been a very serious incident caused by Fishers "Red Mist" which he always seems to suffer from when he wakes up. The crash between Paul and Fisher was completely avoidable in my eyes. Paul had the upper hand and Fisher wasn't happy with that so decided to bin it and take Paul with him when he was going to take the lead. On the upside Fisher ended up the wounded one and paying the price for his "Dangerous Riding" which, I am sorry to say, Paul reacted to understandably, IMO !!! Not good but Fisher could wind up a Saint !!!
  2. Fisher should be certified after his move on Starke to night and then to top it of he gets Starke excluded with a usual out of control move on bend 1 lap 3 !!! The man is a liability and can't handle the red mist the descends when he wakes up !!! Shades of what he did to Nick Morris last year when Nick was guesting for us !!! As for Masters he is a cry baby, can give it but can't take it !!!! Anyway it makes victory all the sweeter !!!
  3. Believe me Rich, it was a brilliant day from where I stood, well done everyone !!!
  4. Ah well !!! At least be thankful there was no sheep sh** to contend with and other than the points that you mention, which could be contended with IMO, I thought it was a cracking day !!! You can please some people some of the time but not all of people all of the time !!! Well done Bristol Combine !!!
  5. £18 Adults £15 OAP Under 16s Free !!! Thank you Rich ! I don't have the energy for an "All Weekender" and I want to watch the racing with a clear head on Sunday !!!
  6. I shall be making my way up from Somerset for this. I know practice is at 11am and racing starts at 1pm,does anyone know when the site will be open for spectators please, only I like to get on the road early and miss the traffic and arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, albeit Castrol R and Methanol !!!
  7. How do you work that out ??? We have PL fixtures home and away until September the 9th !!! If we get bad weather it will go on longer than that !!! September is an ideal month to call it a day IMO!
  8. If Somerset carry on as they are and go through the season unbeaten they should win the league title outright and be spared going through the Play Offs and then the Play Offs could decide the 2nd and 3rd spots. They are a joke and are only there to prolong the season and get more money out of the fans. If your good enough to go through the season unbeaten you are good enough to hold the title !!! Just Saying !
  9. I'm waiting for Plymouth to bring on The Joker !!! You know ! Like they used to do in "It's a Knockout"
  10. Good morning Plymouth ! I have just been flipping through my copy of this weeks Speedway Star !!! Good write up on the Fours and Plymouths epic win, which I whole heartedly congratulate them on but the rest of the Plymouth press releases resemble Claire Raynor's agony aunt column !!! They have three additional items in the Star and every one of them is "Gloom and Doom" firstly Brady Kurtz's potential lack of availability for the rest of the season ! That was already on the cards when he was signed !!! Secondly "Stop start nature of Plymouths season" thus far due to no home meeting this week due to lack of medical cover ! Why ???!!! Thirdly "Bates Blocked" as guest cover !!! He was not eligible!!! It's a basic rule that a rider has to be in a declared 1 to 7 with an established team to be a bona fide guest at the Boniface !!! All this unnecessary bad press is detrimental to the recovery of Plymouth Speedway, give 'em some good news and wrap the cr** up in little parcels. Don' take up three columns with negative press !!!
  11. The marketing and support for Plymouth could be vastly improved if they got their act together and got their Website up and running again !!!
  12. Brilliant news Coventry !!! Brightened up a dull Monday !!!
  13. What has that got to do with anything ? Just get on with waving your flag !!!
  14. Touche !! I suggest, before you runaway at the mouth you read posts properly and not read into them what you would prefer to read !!! I was looking at Brady with a critical speedway supporters eye not a partisan, terrace, flag waver. I have a lot of admiration for the kid and I am just considering his present form.
  15. Lets hope he comes up to the expectations that were bestowed on Brady Kurtz at the beginning of this season. I am not seeing what was expected of BK and I am sure there are others with the same view as me ! He was No 1 at Somerset and was always a step in front of Paul Starke which was not the case in last nights match V Lakeside and in my eyes, he is a shadow of his former self at Poole and Plymouth from what he was at Somerset. Did he make the move upwards to early ?
  16. I know when the rear wheel spoilers started to appear they must have been optional then because only a few of the lads had them. I remember Malcolm Simmons was one of the first to have one back in 77. Surely if it could be proved that they were a hazzard in windy conditions there could be a re think on them ! I know they came in to assist the rider keeping the tail in and not over drifting. Interesting point though, would like to know what a rider would think about it ! There must be some on here !!!
  17. Just a thought from a veteran speedway supporter who started watching the sport way back in 1965, pre silencers, laydown engines, wheel spoilers, shale deflectors and bike covers. I was thinking about changes I might have tried as a rider at last nights match to go some way to alleviate the wind problem at the Oaktree arena. I would straight away have removed my wheel spoiler and tried the bike without it, as going into the second bend and back straight it was acting as a sail and would have, in affect, blown the bike to the outside of the track which Cookie suffered in his heat 5 tumble, this action would allow the air to travel through the spokes. Also, if that hadn't worked sufficiently, I would have removed my bike cover, probably to the annoyance of my sponsors, to allow the air to pass through the frame and see how the bike performed then. Let's face it, with the demise of the upright Jawa and Weslake there is a great big void above the laydown GM for the wind to pass through !!! Just some ideas !!! Don't jump down my throat if you think I'm mad !!!
  18. Bucketing down in Burnham on Sea at this present time. Not looking very promising but forecast says it is blowing away to the east, just hope track holds up !
  19. If needs be, yes ! Be it temporary or for good , that would depend on whether or not anyone else would want to take up the promotion. A strong message needs to be sent out to promoters of this mentality that they cannot hold the sport to ransom if things don't go their way !!! As I said in a previous comment Jolly should loose his license to demonstrate that the sport is wagging the tail not the promoters !!! Rules is rules whether you like them or not !!! Get on with it and abide by them !!! PS. I wonder what would have happened if the boot had been on the other foot !!!
  20. Bottom line is :- JOLLY MUST GO !!! ( I am a Speedway supporter with 50 years experience !!! ) Come on SCB !!! Man up !!! The whole of British Speedway is a joke !!! It needs a dire shake-up !!! To many promoters with no empathy and understanding of the sport and, it appears, not too worried about the financial gain with the way they execute their promotions !!! GIVE THE PUBLIC FAIR ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE FEE THEY PAY !!! Keep personalities out of the equation !!! Evan referees are becoming a joke, inconsistent, one sided and don't know a sprocket from a clutch plate and should have gone to Specsavers !!!
  21. Sorry to be a party pooper guys but it is hissing down here in Somerset at the moment !!! I fear for our Somerset Select V National League Select fixture !!!
  22. One Swallow doesn't make a summer !!! Calm down and don't expose the kid to that kind of pressure !!!
