At the end of the day everyone knows the facts. Riders are having to ride for multiple clubs to make a decent living, Equipment costs are huge compared to non-motorsports, Speedway clubs lose money in the UK, the stadiums are the pits. Glasgow have a beautiful stadium, lots of entertainment and a quality side. But if it's not sustainable it's not sustainable. Glasgow season ticket is same price as edinburgh. IE £15 a meeting.
-
Is that not the one that costs 4 quid?Over the road it's free.
-
I leave my car in the streets opposite every week. Never had any trouble. To me you'd be daft to use the secure car park (which I think is next to the Ashfield bar ).
-
tbh I think the issue really is that this won't stop people coming. It's still well under 20 quid which compares well with other professional sports - especially motorsports. Folk like me will moan, but in the back of my mind I know I'm not being conned, we are going to have a great team on the track and some of the best facilities in Speedway. I can afford it, because I'm working. I just hope there aren't older folks who chuck it (for example). The Facennas have done an incredible job and long may it continue. Just think the pound a seat is a bit tight and hope it doesn't discourage infirm people from getting one.
-
An additional charge of £2 for a big jobby is perfectly reasonable. A plopping season ticket may be the way forward. Pound extra for seat cushion.
-
Dunno if that's you joking Baba, but here's the SP http://www.glasgowtigers.co/ticket-pricing-2016/

hopefully the one pound idea is canned. The max I would think that could make is about 400 pounds and usually less. I'd i,magine the standing areas will be mobbed initially at least. It's a crap idea.

Given the team Newcastle are putting together and therefore the amount of meetings think that's a pretty good deal
-
That's the bit I don't get.. surely they won't do this when it's half empty. Fair enough I suppose they've spent a lot of money, but think I'll be buying a season ticket ! * one point to be fair is that a lot of teams were already charging £16.
-
I was going to make this specific to Glasgow, having just seen it on the website. But might be better to all comers. Season ticket adult works out @ £15 a match. However the rest of the prices are as follows: Individual match ticket £17.50 Seat in stand, additional £1.00 (all matches ??) Programme £2.50 (unchanged) Concessions £13.50

Richie at Belle Vue means he's unavailable whoever signs him for meetings against Somerset or Edinburgh.

any news re: Worral, Blackbird or whoever?
-
Very much looking forward to visiting Manchester next year. Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle.... the North is rising once again
-
no don't believe they have - in fact someone said they weren't........

Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?
damosuzuki replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I agree Sidney, a good night out at Speedway is great, but the playoffs are brilliant, hyped up, turbo charged nonsense that drag the crowds in. I like them. -
I would have thought the sensible thing for him would be to have a proper bash at being number 1 at Edinburgh. Right decision for Cook but Masters isn't there imo. Can definately see Josh ending up at Edinburgh the way the teams have gone.
-
I can't get that team to work. Am I missing something (could well be) 9.12, 8.37, 7.55, 4.5, 6.84, 3.4, 3
-
No lie - Sarjent was outstanding towards the end of the seaon. Looked more like a 7 pointer. I think he'll progress. Don't know why Glasgow got rid of him on 4.88 tbh
-
I think they are still in the process, just a guess but there's a few teams splashing the cash.
-
Surely they're not exactly fans then. TBH it's this mentality that puts me off the Elite concept. I don't see how it's ever going to be sustainable if that's the fanbase they aim for.
-
Could't help it.
-
Monarchs will protest Belle Vue moving to a Friday, if they haven't already. If needs be they'll move their stadium to Stockport. ....Newcastle would be very convenient for Worral though.
-
R Worrall deserves his own thread. He's signing for every team in the league at some point.
-
Not unusual according to the stats, though.
