They can't follow suit. Not enough fans to pay much more than half of the teams wages without sponsors is the problem.Better for teams to cut costs(riders wage bill) than to go all guns blazing and go bust.
-
No chance of that unless a big sponsor is found.Even if the money was there it would be wasting it imho....I don't think Vaculik would be a great number one either, and the most expensive 7/8 point rider in the league maybe..
-
I wouldn't want him on a 9.
-
If Vaculik is heading Lynn's way and if it will be on a 9,then i'd rather NKI for the same money.Vaculik could end up a 7/8 point rider in his first season, and potenitally an expensive one at that..
-
Great for you guys.Should help with crowds in iffy weather .
-
I wouldn't want either Holder
-
Thanks JC.Hodgy, maybe a place for some 6+ average riders if theres not enough riders, but on the same money as a 5.99 rider,as long as in the team's point limit.
-
To low or to high
-
Theres so many different deals. Each rider has different deals. Some of the top riders are on a fixed wage,no matter what they score. Some might be on £500 plus £100 a point.Others could be on £300 plus £100 a point.Reserves might be on £300 plus £50 a point. Who knows
-
If true i'm not surprised.Must be a millionaire at 48
-
If you don't touch the tapes,it's a good start.And sign James Sarjeant on a 2.50 for 2018
-
That's good for you.Imagine Batch and the Holder bro's in the same team
-
I dont think Greg on a 8.77 would be great signing.Ok ,but that's it imho.He can't be short of a few quid, and i would wonder how much he would give/be motivated for a few grand a meeting at this stage in his career. I doubt if he would add to the 8.77 if he came in on that..Doyle and Freddie averaged around 9.70 and 9.20 (without checking). So would be tough for Greg to top any of those two.
-
I did wonder, because he flew at Poole the night before, and it was said that he got a good reception. He deffo showed Ford what he can do,then the next night he wasn't interested... If he rides for Poole next season and the track is how it was "that night" at Lynn again,i wonder how many people would put money on him refusing to ride for Ford...Not many would be my guess.
-
You only have to look at the how the "lesser" rider's(no disrespect at all btw) road it.But the 2012 World champ couldn't/wouldn't.Times where very fast so was very grippy .It was the kind of track that needed attacking as we see from time to time.I think it's to do with gonads...I bet Bomber would have loved it that night.
-
It's a good job all the riders don't stick the boot in then !
-
Maybe he's not as hungry as he once was.Maybe his own injuries and Wards have got into his head.Maybe he's earning good money elsewhere and can't be arsed over here.Who knows?Maybe its a bit of all of them.Either way he slags British speedway off these days.He was more than happy to pick up his pay cheque when he first came over.
-
Would'nt do the clutch any good and the motor would probably grenade on a regular basis.
-
Swap Rory for Tai maybe ?
-
It seems that the top stars have people throwing money at them when they don't really need it. And the rest pick up what they can.If I was in a position to help a rider,it would be a young British rider.
-
There don't seem like there is much out there, but who knows. You have Doyle 9.69,Freddie 9.20,Morris8.87,Thorssell 8.68,Bjerre 8.48 and Cook 8.45.Apart from Doyle and Freddie the rest are pretty close and most will stay where they are if there riding in the UK next season. Then Kurtz on 8.08.I think he's done excellent under pressure and will up his average in 2018. I don't think it would be the end of the world if you had C.Holder,Kurtz and HH as your top 3.Kacper on a 4.80 ish ? is a great signing..But I am a Lynn fan So what do I know lol
-
I know he has neglected Lynn since his BSPA stint. But he has kept speedway in a tiny town for 20 years or more.He needs to get Lynn's house in order in 2018,but it looks like he recognises this with Robin Brundle getting involved. We can only hope. He didn't please some Poole fans over the Holder fiasco, but he won't be sh$t on by riders who think they can call the shots. We shall see.
-
If that's the case I hope Chris Holders attitude to British speedway(mainly crap tracks) don't rub off on his young brother, who already showed at bit of attitude in a recent TV meeting.Could go either was I guess.A master stroke if they bounce off of each other,or the new Touchy Twins..
