  1. Excellent. This means my weekend staying in Bydgoszcz on 4th - 6th August will now include 2 great matches. 4th August Torun v Czestochova 5th August Bydgoszcz v Tarnow :-)
  2. Yes, landing at 1345 and staying at the Holiday Inn in Bydgoszcz. Been there before, so I know I will be at the hotel by 1430 if all on time. Probably will get a taxi from the Holiday Inn to the track at Torun. Last time I went we took an ancient bus from Bydgoszcz which took about 50 minutes, so we should have plenty of time if we have a freshen up at the hotel first. With a bit of luck there might be a fixture at Bydgoszcz on the Saturday or Sunday that weekend too ;-) Many thanks for the replies guys!
  3. I would agree with the first half of your statement. As to the second half, depends what you want. Of course, it's almost impossible to unearth a Bewley every year, but you should be trying to build a team who are on the way up, and improving. All this talk about being a nice guy, or he deserves a chance because he never got it last year, or even he'll do a job at number 7 may be fine for some. But I will repeat again - he has been around for donkeys years and NEVER shown much ability to do anything. Why would that change suddenly now? If he's included at 7, I see that as very much a defeatist and non-ambitious attitude by the Monarchs management, which would be a surprise to me.
  4. Thank you. I'm planning to fly into Bydgoszcz that day at 1345, so should be able to get along to Torun in plenty of time for it. ;-)
  5. There's a FRIDAY fixture at Torun on 4th August 2017, v Czestochova. Can anyone tell me the start time for this one please as I hope to be there? many thanks in advance!
  6. I am looking at the fixture at Torun on Friday 04.08. I'm planning on spending that weekend in Bydgoszcz - arriving 04.08 at 1400hours. Can anyone confirm the start time for Friday fixtures at Torun please?
  7. So do I, but liking someone is no reason to sign them, nor to imagine they might be able to suddenly score points after many years of failing to do so. I imagine the fans of Berwick and Glasgow are quaking in their boots at the thought of Clegg returning to burn up their shale in 2017. Not. He was hopelessly out his depth in the majority of away matches last year, so the idea that he'd sign for someone else and suddenly start knocking in double figure scores is a little far-fetched.
  8. Totally and utterly underwhelmed by the re-signing of Clegg. Some things to consider: 1) He was mince at almost every away track for Monarchs last year, and that was from reserve. 2) He stuck his finger up well and truly at the team by failing to show for their last home match in 2016. Somewhat surprised he's getting another chance given the above. If he is going to make a success of 2017 in a second string position he will have to have his top league machinery available for Monarchs matches too. I still think he'll let us down. And if he doesn't hit the ground running from the start, I hope there is a contingency plan to have someone better in quickly. On a separate note, I pray to God that Davey isn't in the equation. He's been around for donkeys years and never shown the slightest hint he'll make a breakthrough. Why would he be capable of it now?
  9. Wonderful! Perhaps there is a traitor within the ranks at Glasgow who was determined to see them lose!
  10. I've read several posts like this in recent weeks regarding the delays due to poor presentation, long delays, kiddies races and endless tractor racing.Perhaps some of the Tiggers fans who slagged off my 1 star review of Glasgow last winter on their FB page (for precisely these reasons - I will repeat that the stadium changes are fabulous) will now accept that I was not making things up, nor was I trying to upset you. I was only stating facts at the time. It seems a good number of Tiggers fans in various threads here are making the exact same points now.
  11. Yes, we did and it backfired spectacularly. At the time I slated our management who fully deserved it. But to state it happens every time Tiggers roll into town is nonsense.
  12. The two posts immediately before yours seem to confirm that. What a pity Glasgow decided to try to doctor the track. That it backfired, and seems to have ruined the match as a spectacle serves them right.
  13. I wonder if that was a deliberate decision which ended up backfiring? 😂
  14. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 Tiggers PUMPED by a 17 year old rookie!!!!
  15. They're not the dog track covers. Apparently, according to Eddie McKenna on Monarchs FB page yesterday, they're covers that have been obtained a few months ago but are too good quality to use - from that he seemed to be saying they're too heavy to drag on and off the track. Doesn't sound like the dog track covers to me. In any case, using the dog track covers would be fraught with risks, as they are on the dog track to protect against shale getting into the greyhounds' paws. Dragging these covers on and off a speedway track would surely mean lots of shale ending up unwittingly on the dog track!
  16. Talking about Glasgow's promoters, it always disappoints me to see both Dick and Dickson still sometimes pictured together. Why? These two cheats descended to the lowest point imaginable when they instructed their team to lower their averages by deliberately losing back in (I think 2011) at Armadale. How anyone can trust them is still beyond belief. They brought the sport into disrepute. Big time.
  17. I think you should be acknowledging that he won you that meeting!
  18. Watch the video. I have watched it about 20 times and Ryan alone was at fault. The Rye rider was nowhere near him. It appeared Fisher picked up grip and shot forward. He should have been excluded.
  19. Is it possible to have an updated league as of tonight please?
  20. Well, I, along with three other Edinburgh fans will be there cheering on the Bandits. We don't normally attend, so that's a few extras £££s in the coffers of Berwick. Hope the Tiggers get stuffed.
  21. How to victory from the jaws of defeat! Two observations from the meeting. Firstly, I was very disappointed that Mark Riss was replaced by Clegg in heat 10, as that was totally unmerited. Riss had been slow from the starts but had looked very fast when making up ground in his previous heat. Clegg meanwhile had done absolutely nothing to suggest at that stage he'd get a point, which in fact he didn't. Secondly, heat 14, and Clegg suddenly came to life, firstly outgating Palm Toft and Wilkinson, then in the rerun harrying and finally passing Palm Toft! Where on earth has that form been all season Max? So frustrating to see you can do it after all.... Can we please see that a bit more often?? Anyways, Scunthorpe must be sick. Twice they have thrown away victories against us in 5 days now!
  22. Feel, like others, that Newcastle would have left with all 4 points had they had Worrall. But with two weeks now to regroup, surely the Monarchs line up will be different when they face Ipswich at home on 10th June? It seems obvious that next week's testimonial meeting will give the opportunity to assess new blood....
