  1. Gundersen would not be there on just some decent performances surely? great rider but Hyde Rd he would not get in a top six would he.?
  2. Off by 1 o'clock "A ORLOV hope it is announced early, watching Wales at least draw with England forecast tomorrow looks horrendous.
  3. Agree the past is important in my eyes that is how you judge success at Swindon Broady,Crash,Dukey and others come regular brilliant stuff.
  4. Craven i would imagine would of loved West Ham,Craven/Briggs both have to be in the best five riders to ever ride Hyde Rd.
  5. Great post the only gripe maybe was Tiddler Turner he was an exciting rider a good one to but Bettsy was great value wasn't he.?😀
  6. Thanks BL great stuff up until his death the original PC was in front was aged only 29 how many titles could he have won who knows!😀
  7. What a top five BL all legends, BL have you any idea roughly what Craven's Hyde Rd record was against Fundin ? my uncle told me he always held his own there.I always imagined Ove to be a white liner tough as old boots ( only see him ride twice) have pictures of Craven leading him there one in the Helmet i think.?
  8. For me Tai and Lambert are certainties whatever, the rest Rosco has to pick what he thinks is best.
  9. I would pick Bates in front of Ellis (Ie) anyway in my view Bates has impressed me Ellis i like but he is light years from being a Top 5 rider in theEL .Saying that he has made huge progress this year we shall see. Why again would you AGAIN consider Garrity puzzling.,!
  10. Answer is say nothing move on and say nothing ? IF you have a good point to make lets here it can't wait.!!
  11. Seems ages since we had a meeting, a real test for us with home and away meetings with Lakeside. If we could come out with home win and keep it close away i will be happy.Lakeside should be missing Kennett (a miss) Nilsson is the key for the visitors he was very impressive on his last visit to the Abbey.
  12. What year "Norbold" did you think that Ove was unlucky in and it maybe slipped away from him?1972 was Briggos year Olsen also was unlucky that year.
  13. 1971 i think Olsen always keeps for me 71-75 were Olsen's best years.Mauger i think in 68/69/70 he would of been mighty hard to beat. I believe Olsen over those years would of been a mega threat to Ivan. Mauger for me on one off meetings generally his record is superb what a rider what a temperament. Mauger was never a mile clear of his rivals from 73 onwards in my opinion still riding at a great level though but Michanek and Ole were on par with him easily in 74/75.
  14. Think Olsen could of won titles in 72 and 77 Collins was unlucky in 77 was Collins best year 76? Think 83 over a series would of been well open Carter,Lee,Sigalos,Nielsen,Gundersen,Sanders all riding well 84 onwards Hans certainly.
  15. Fundin,Olsen,Nielsen could they have won more world titles if there had been a Gp Series around.?Fundin i hate to say it because he was a great rival of Briggo would of done Olsen could of done in my view as well.Hans well no exaggeration he could of won 6/8 world titles in my book interesting looking back at Nielsen's career how many he could of won.
  16. A decent Gp with some good racing, pleased Holder is getting back to be where he belongs .Pawlicki/Zagar having strange meetings but i was very impressed with Thomsen a really neat and tidy rider mixed it well Harris also looked quicker later on.
  17. He won't get in the semis if he does fair play to him, even if he does not he has made good progress this year.
  18. A great post mucker, Curtis who i only see ride twice once at the abbey think in the 73 championship season Geoff God bless i think would of done well been a International star minimum.Eastbourne under the Dugards great stuff for me Weatherley,Eric Dugard,Gachet,Middleditch,Mcneil few examples. After Woodsey woods a proper English rider grass roots(ect)loved Woods and really Gordon Kennett a great rider loyal to the hilt.Funny really never liked Eastbourne as a track but loved going still M.Dugard always rated had a decent career retired to young.
  19. Do you think Steve that the Owen bros who were both top and decent riders Tom was a top average NL rider. Joe was big for a few years.Joe proved it when he give a go at Newcastle and before at Hull a real class act to me Hunter another Newcastle rider who oozed class for me never quite did it at BL level.Newcaste are a great club a great breeding ground for others Mauger,Olsen,Michanek, Lovaas Peterson ,B.Pedersen,N.Pedersen,.Bjerre If you conquer Brough as a track you are nearly half way there in doing OK in your career a real hard track in my view to conquer.
  20. Jacko with Lawson and both Owen lads Wilcock, a few examples all unsung heroes really good riders all of them.
  21. Wolves we all know he rides that well i would certainly have him in the later stages there other tracks for me he has a lot to do.
  22. How would King be anywhere near a WTS at this present time puzzling.?
  23. Are you sure? what order were they in the semi final i would take Stead over Garrity all day long. Also in this big meeting his temperment Garrity is more suspect than most.
