It doesn't matter what you or any other fan thinks. The league is in the gutter, our tracks are the worst in the world, our attendances are pi$$ poor and nobody of any notability wants to ride over here. If every team had a Matt Ford at the helm 10 years ago, the sport would be far better off. Promoters and fans who care more about giving riders great big cuddles when they are under performing than actually taking action and getting their arses into gear are the kind of promoters and fans who let us sleep walk into this mess to begin with. You can pretend everything is rosy and Matt Ford is the source of all evil, but it won't matter one iota when the current pensioner audiences kick the bucket and you don't have a British speedway league to follow. Wake up.

It's not funny at all. The days of big riders bothering with England are long gone. There is no longer any career furthering benefit to riding in the United Kingdom. The only benefit of riding in the United Kingdom is the money, and that is rapidly drying up. This isn't just an issue affecting Poole. I honestly doubt 2018 will see a single GP rider in the UK.
-
And that attitude is why the sport is in the gutter. If other promoters had acted like Matt Ford 10 years ago our league wouldn't be the international joke it is now. Congratulations, you've contributed to the demise of British Speedway.

We were talking about Kyle being axed. Win at all costs within the rules of the sport.
-
What on earth are you talking about? Only a complete idiot would infer something like that from my comment. If you're going to take context away completely then it also infers that murdering your rivals is acceptable as well, doesn't it? Don't be such a pillock.

The definition of competition is winning at all costs you pleb. If you're not in it to win it then go home. Stop being a baby.
-
No I didn't forget about that... Unfortunately we're not in the business of giving everybody cuddles, we're in the business of winning. And regardless of the cause, he wasn't scoring.
-
Consistently scoring badly... I didn't want him to go, but it's not like he was one of Matt's random victims.

Bit confident to expect a 2018

Eddie will do much better than KK. Great signing, hope he hits the ground running.

Buster Chapman - Is He Good For The Sport?
BurntFaceMan replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If he were good for the sport there would be an upward trend in attendances and there is not. So no. They blocked you?! Hahaha! What on earth are those dinosaurs doing anywhere near a computer. If only they'd take their heads out of their own backsides long enough to listen to some of the hundreds of people trying to push them in the right direction, and they'd realise that social media might just be able to save this sport. -
lol British Speedway

Because the rest of the league spent a decade scratching around for scraps until they decided to make rules that meant nobody could have a good team, instead of actually fixing the mess they created. Now we're a country mile ahead in the most pathetic European league competition. But don't let that stop you poking fun at Poole, aye? You all dug the grave and now you're all lying in it.

Bit of a stupid post really. Why don't you make a list for every other promoter and we'll see how near the top Matt is for knobhead promoters? -

Spot on. Matt pretending that he didn't sign CH because of his average is a joke. Clearly it has come back to bite him. You'd think Matt would be grateful to of had a relatively consistent high performer who actually wanted to ride over here... but instead he went chasing uninterested Pole's. -

Matt is the sort of person who likes making money and being top dog. -

I think it's pretty obvious that Matt is getting ready to pack it in. I expect this season will break the records for low attendance figures. If the BSPA doesn't make the decision to increase points limits next season then I expect Matt Ford will pull out entirely in 2018 / 2019. The writing is on the wall. In addition to this it is essential that the BSPA collectively invest heavily in introducing a new generation of supporters to the sport. -

I imagine it's combination of foreign riders not wanting to risk breaking their necks on our dilapidated tracks for peanuts and Matt Ford not willing to chuck away a penny more than he needs to. -

Because the sport is in the gutter and the fairytale supporters with their heads in the clouds are blissfully walking eyes closed into the abyss. I mean come on! Richie Worrall, a British lower division rider, signing as a replacement for a top flight heat leader?! This league has gone to the dogs and is not even nearly worth the admission fee. That is why the crowds are dwindling and most of the remaining patrons are living off a pension. No fresh blood is coming through the turnstiles, the marketing of the sport is antiquated and almost non existent and the quality is plummeting rapidly. Matt Ford isn't stupid and it would appear to me that he's planning his exit strategy. Not a penny is going into the track itself and Matt doesn't have any answers under the current rules. -
I assume by the mighty you mean British speedway in general? If every club was Poole we wouldn't be in this mess.

Replacing a heat leader with Richie Worrall! What has this league come to?
