  1. Lucky the trains weren't running...we would have missed the final, catching the 9.00 back to Swindon. The track was awful. Embarrassment for the organisers. Still a good day out. Chatting to a Welsh couple who said a full stadium of Wales rugby fans don't make the noise that the speedway fans do! At least you can top your water bottles up in there, ridiculous prices. Speedway fans are a great, friendly bunch. And great organisation of car parking, at County Hall, and park n ride buses, and the staff that had to work in that heat
  2. Good day, apart from the heat, traffic hold-ups, and racing. .Fantastic win for Dan, Cumbrian, ex-Worky lad. Crowd was well down on previous years, about 30000? Doyley 3 crashes and still reaches semis!!!
  3. The Ox were very poor, good bunch of friendly fans though, all wishing a Swindon return.
  4. No problem with the Knobs, chatted to quite a few of them last night, good bunch. All wishing Swindon to return, those great local derbies from yesteryear. Good luck to the Saints lads from Upton.
  5. Saw you there didn't get a chance to chat, were you on the coach from Hamilton?
  6. A hot, dusty evening at Sandy Lane. Good to see a few hundred fans from other clubs there in the big crowd. Chatted to Ox, Swindon, Poole fans on bend 3. Must have been about 50 from both Glasgow and Poole. Redcar fully deserved their win beating Poole in heats and final, an all British affair. Shame they weren't all at full strength. A good night out. Congrats to the 3 Redcar lasses we spoke to by car park. Such a friendly sport, fantastic fans
  7. Have been once, going again tonight, with both my Robins fan brothers, one from Swindon, one in Australia. The Aussie one now supports the Ox, as they have a few Aussies riding for them.!!!A good night out.
  8. The Ox, home advantage, and Bombers Berwick look dangerous. Bomber loves the Oxford track. Rode well for Oxford and Berwick there.
  9. I'm looking forward to it, 23 heats of racing, good track, warm weather. Agree may not have gone if paying on day, but will enjoy it nevertheless. A few tickets leftLiving in Swindon only second meeting of year for me.
  10. Berwick look a danger to Poole and Oxford, Leicester look far ahead in first group.
  11. Because they didn't have the correct hand lotion and shower gel
  12. Weren't sure they would fit on those concrete terraces. Should be a hot evening weather wise.
  13. Never seen any trouble at league speedway since the infamous brawl between Oxford and Swindon fans in the early 80s. That was caused by Ox football fans from the nearby estate. Wolves fans got a bit rowdy at Swindon once but stewards sorted it. Good to see quite a few Swindon, and Reading and Cov fans at Ox this year, and sell-out crowds. The Premier league would be so much better with Poole, Ox and Swindon. The crowds are a joke compared to 40/50 years ago, 17000 for one match at The Abbey and hundreds locked out.
  14. Lee Kilby would be a good manager, even Rosco if Swindon aren't running.
  15. Batch has really gone downhill. Could be because he has a kiddie now, playing it safer. He rode for Poole before Swindon, and in the Robins double-winning last season in 2019 was top of averages with Doyley. Be lucky if he's in top 20 in either league now. Ex GP rider.
  16. Would have Aaron Summers in there, above Batch, and Cookie above Basso and Brennan.
  17. Some good racing, liked the cam on Bomber's bike.
  18. Unlucky GB, fantastic couple of years for Team GB, have vastly improved since Olly and Steady have been at the helm.
  19. Same as Brum and Madchester, they both have teams. Used to go to New Cross, Ackney, Wet Spam, Wimbledon in the 60s, Wembley World Final. All the dog tracks have gone as well, flat cap 20th. Century council estate sports Nearest senior team to London is Oxford over 50 miles away.
  20. Nige Booey runner-up 3 times to Briggs and Mauger. Peter Craven was only Brit to win it, twice, in first 12 years, 60-72. Briggo 6 wins, Mauger 4. Surprised Lee Richardson never won it, and looks like Screeny most runners-up positions. Scotty still most wins of all-time, 7.
  21. Good to see countries such as Finland, Czech, France up there with the big boys
