Lakeside v Newcastle 24/8/18
leander replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nearest station is Chafford Hundred, and it's a 20- 25 minute walk to the stadium. There is a Premier Inn 5-10 minutes from the station en route to the track. As there are two near the stadium, make sure you get the right one. It's the one near Sainsbury superstore. -
Newcastle v Lakeside - 26 August
leander replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No he won't as it was a speedway injury, Lawson, on the other hand, has a compulsory 8 day ban from last friday as his is a non-speedway injury/illness. -
Sheffield v Edinburgh 23/08/18
leander replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
the only thing I'd say to that is Eric Riss is a far better rider this year than last. -
Garrity has history for not having particularly good meetings when guesting. Not the first time at Sheffield either. As for your two new riders, the fact that a dog meeting was on in the afternoon didn't help as it potentially prevented them from any track time at Sheffield. I thought Anderson showed promise, as proved by his Edinburgh performance. Shanes seems to have (at best) stagnated a bit this year. Broc was always likely to go well around Edinburgh as it is more like a typical "American" track. Personally I think Sheffield released Bjerre too quick. They should have made sure Woofy was in place before doing that unless there was another underlying issue there. Anderson was never going to fill that hole.

Actually there is usually one every month!

Diamonds vs Panthers Sunday 19 th August
leander replied to bri1966's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A bit of "selective hearing" by the panthers promotion methinks. Personally I think Panthers should of gone with Palm Toft in heat 15. His gating was a lot sharper than Starke, and seemed to be able to handle track conditions better. He'd only dropped 1 point all evening. -
Yes. Cut off is essentially midnight tonight. Any redeclarations need to be submitted today in order to be ratifed by 15th August, so essentially Sheffield have stuffed Bjerre in the same way Kings Lynn did to Holder last year.

Excuses, excuses. If it was a rearranged fixture then they would have been granted a facility, as they have for Dan Bewley tonight (Saturday). It's been in the fixture list since they were first published so Bach and Klindt should be at Newcastle tomorrow. They appear to have chosen not to be so no facility. Workington DIDN'T move their friday night fixtures the BSPA did. They were told they couldn't run on fridays (unless racing against another saturday track) as there were to many fixtures on fridays leading to a shortage of available riders to guest for teams with injuries!! (notably Scunthorpe). This despite the fact that fixed race nights is SUPPOSED to lead to less guests. Workington might yet get out of jail. If tonight's Swedish GP is cancelled (highly possible as it's raining over there and it is yet to start) then it will be rerun, I believe, tomorrow. If so most Polish fixtures will be cancelled if they have a GP rider taking part. Not sure if this would apply to the fixtures Klindt and Bach are in.

It's been listed since the day the fixtures were published. It most certainly is NOT a re-arranged fixture. To say 2 or 3 days beforehand that two riders can't appear due to another country, which isn't there "home" nation, having priority is utter B*ll*cks. Newcastle would appear to have expected them to ride if the press releases are anything to go by. They need to be fined and Newcastle compensated as it is bound to affect the gate.
-
It's whoever had him in there declared line-up first. In the case of Riss I believe that is Ipswich.
-
Once the season starts it's whoever signed him first if a rider moves/signs during the season. For example Rye House had priority over Newcastle with Stuart Robson, but once they closed and he subsequently signed for Leicester, Newcastle have priority above Leicester.
-
His 3 at Ipswich from 3 rides, as opposed to Campton's 12 (from 5) and Jensen's 15 (from 7) would have knocked his average back down as bonus points don't count.

This rule is, in my opinion, quite ambiguous. Granted when the race is stopped the two riders are usually in 3rd and 4th place 15.8.1 If the Referee stops a heat, following an incident or accident, where the rider causing the stoppage and his team partner were in third and fourth place and a re-run is called with one of those riders excluded, the Referee has the sole discretion to order that the remaining team partner will start on a 15 metre handicap in gate position c or d (the opposing team does not change positions). However, the wording of the rule (after speaking to a couple of referees) doesn't actually say 3rd and 4th place at the time of the stoppage. It could imply that the two riders were in 3rd and 4th when the rider causing the stoppage fell off, and if the rider falling (for example) was leading when he fell they weren't in 3rd and 4th.. Not having seen the Morris incident I don't know where he was position-wise when he fell. I've been told the rule is designed to stop riders deliberately causing a race to be stopped in order to give his partner a 2nd chance in the rerun. Did Morris deliberately lay it down or did he obviously stay down making no effort to get off the track after falling? Another rule which is good in principal, but allows for too much ambiguity.

Chanpionship Pairs Somerset Friday 20th

Correct. -
Looks like Newcastle are at Workington on Saturday 28th July.

Richie's probable Polish commitments almost certainly would have ruled out a return to Newcastle. Be interesting to see who Edinburgh drop to accommodate him. Unfortunately they have enough leeway points wise to mean it's unlikely to be anybody of quality ( i.e. better than what we've got).

Where can I find these then. They don't appear on the SGB website? Last ones on there are dated 22/06. -
SGB championship fours 1st July redcar
leander replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That will depend on whether he was actually advertised to ride (as Holder was last year right up to the friday before the meeting). Was Wells ever declared to ride by Edinburgh? -
SGB championship fours 1st July redcar
leander replied to SuperBear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's been the case in the past when they used to run the two semi-finals at the same time. Rider in yellow off gate 4 in heat 1 and heat 2 didn't take his second ride until heat 15 (gate 2) and heat 16. Ridiculous.
