  1. It's quite possible that he just hasn't been picked because of his current away form. You don't have to pick your top 4 by average. Any five of your seven can be picked even if they are all fit and available. The only stipulation his that the lowest of the five riders selected (by average) has to be at reserve.
  2. Not quite what Roy mean't. More of "He landed in a wet patch" because he followed it up by saying His leathers weren't half going to take some cleaning.
  3. Not quite. One 22 heat semi with the top 4 Qualifying for the usual 12 heat final. More details here:- http://www.scbgb.co.uk/regulations Click on the download button for the Championship fours.
  4. Carl's Green sheet average is 4.6 and includes part of 2017. His 2018 average is 5.35. No swing at all. Jeppesen would be assessed at 5.2. Emphasis on the word ASSESSED. He's averaging 3.81 from the reserve slot racing against, primarily, Premiership riders. It would be a big risk, not worth it in my opinion.
  5. It doesn't say 3rd and 4th positions when the race was stopped. Robbo caused the stoppage when falling off in 2nd place, That was the "Cause". The fact that it wasn't stopped immediately doesn't alter the fact. The rule also states the ref has sole discretion as to whether the remaining rider goes off 15 metres or not. In other words it'd up to the ref!
  6. Ronnie Allen ( yes it was Ronnie Allen in charge and not Willie Dishington) interpreted the rule correctly. The rule States:- 15.8.1 If the Referee stops a heat, following an incident or accident, where the rider causing the stoppage and his team partner were in third and fourth place and a re-run is called with one of those riders excluded, the Referee has the sole discretion to order that the remaining team partner will start on a 15 metre handicap in gate position c or d (the opposing team does not change positions). Robbo was 2nd when he fell ahead of Ricky Wells, so it cannot be said that he deliberately caused the rerun in order to give, in this case, Matej a better chance of winning. The rule is designed to penalise riders deliberately causing a race to be stopped. That certainly wasn't the case in this instance. Robbo never looked to see what was happening ahead and tried to extricate his bike from under the air fence. And succeeded as the riders were coming down the back straight. If it had been, say, Sheffield the race probably wouldn't have been stopped as he would have cleared the track in time.
  7. No but there are other ways to inspire team mates other as well as points scoring. How do you know he doesn't inspire or encourage away from home you don't go!
  8. And your solution is!!!!??? Not an excuse for Lindgren just FACT. Matej had a higher average than Lindgren before he went to Redcar, where for various reasons he wasn't happy. And he is a confidence rider. He's back at Newcastle, he's happy again + a new engine he's brought from the continent. And it showed. He scored more points last night in two rides than he's scored in seven rides the previous twice he was at Scunthorpe this season. The only Scunthorpe rider he beat in his previous two matches was Danny Phillips, when Danny fell off! Everybody knocks Lindgren for not producing no.1 scores, but he wouldn't be a no 1 anywhere else in the League. It's the way it is. If it wasn't for stupid rolling averages he wouldn't be number 1 now. And "white Knight" the fact he isn't scoring doesn't mean he doesn't inspire and encourage others to do well for the team. Personally I think as a team we are overachieving this year. Certainly doing better than I expected with what we've got. Team spirit within the camp must have a lot to do with that.
  9. By the same implication you could say he was only beaten by Scorpions powerhouse top four (which they are especially around Scunthorpe) all of whom have a higher average than Ludde and should, therefore, beat him anyway. It should be said that up until now the only team who have scored more at Scunthorpe this year than us are Sheffield (who traditionally do well there) who got 41. If it wasn't for Tero's unfortunate puncture in heat 15 we would have done even better than that.
  10. Rubbish! Tero punctured exiting bend 2, and the 2 Scorpions passed him bend 3/4 so I very much doubt they would have got past him with only one lap to go. Incidentally that was his 2nd puncture of the night. Garrity also had 1 as did Lindgren.
  11. It was supposedly reported at tuesday night's speedway of nations "do" that Fridays team for Scunthorpe is 1. Ludde; 2. Robbo or guest; 3 kus; 4. Ash; 5. Tero; 6. Wilko; 7. Matty. He must have signed, therefore, as he can't guest if he isn't in someones 1 to 7.
  12. And Ludvig has blown at least three engines at Berwick this season alone. Just saying like.
  13. Yes and they signed him as a 7 point rider so the loan fee should be appropriate to that. If we sign him back then he is only a 4 point rider so we should be paying them less than they are paying us. . Deal!
  14. As I said earlier, probably a sick note. He couldn't be deemed to be "withholding his services" if he was on the sick and unfit to ride. Only when it was said he was fit to ride can he be said to be withholding his services. I would have thought that all team managers, referees, officials, etc. would have been advised of when the facility started and expires. The fact that no-one has complained/queried it before, during, or after the weekend (they could easily deduct the points scored by R/R) suggests that it was all legit as far as I'm concerned. Don't tell me no-one from BSPA reads this rubbish on here.
  15. How do you know Newcastle used the facility against Ipswich on 6th May? It's quite possible that Newcastle had an "injury" facility (complete with the appropriate sick-note). Ipswich (away) was his first match back from a hand injury, and he didn't look comfortable on the bike then. It is quite possible the facility wasn't granted until sometime the following week after the 6th May. It has to be granted by the management committee and the 28 days starts from when they say it starts which is usually the day it is approved.. it is not automatic. The fact that he twittered on 30th April doesn't mean he officially advised Newcastle or BSPA of his decision to withhold his services on that day. that could have been done upon expiry of his sick note. The fact that Kings lynn replaced him on 30 April is totally irrelevant.
  16. Sunday 22 April Polish leagues hadn't started. Sunday 27 May Poznan didn't have a fixture (they were at Gneizo on Friday 25 May that weekend).
  17. Ho hum. People have short memories. Q. Why didn't Newcastle sign Kus at the beginning of the season? A. He had already signed a Polish contract to ride in Poland on SUNDAYS. Q. Will Newcastle sign him now. A. Unlikely. Why? He has a polish contract to ride in Poland on SUNDAYS. ( and he's riding better over there than he is over here.................)
  18. New averages kicked in yesterday 01st June, So Etheridge moves up, Gappmaier moves down. Other than that no idea who's riding at what number, except Summers is at 1, !!!
  19. I know. i do find it infuriating though when promotions obviously know the correct line-up yet, for whatever reason I don't understand, just chuck names out in any order they choose.
  20. Newcastle lineup definitely not right. Arnio is only 5 th in the adverages so can't be at no. 1 Lindgren is still top so will be at 1. Would suggest R/R is at 2. Covatti 3. Morris 4. and Tero at 5. Only a guess based on past line-ups.
  21. Kennett gets a migrain if he travels north of Grantham. Fairly sure Jorgensen has polish commitments.
  22. Busch will miss this weeks two cup matches against Sheffield irrespective of whether h's' fit or not. He gets a compulsory 8 day time out with it being a non speedway injury/illness. not sure if they can use a guest or not but they can use R/R.
  23. Yep. Clear as mud. 16.2.1 ESTABLISHED MA’s are calculated, for a specified number of applicable Meetings, taking account of the number of heats and points (excluding Bonus Points) that a rider has scored. The applicable Meetings are: SGB Premiership: League Meetings, excluding the Play-Offs SGB Championship: League Meetings, excluding the Play-Offs National Development League: League Meetings only. Riders appearing as a Guest or as a #8 are ignored (SGBP & SGBC Only) The BSPA are responsible for the calculation, production and circulation of Rider’s MA’s Why then are Championship Shield meetings included in the Greensheet Averages when 16.2.1 says League meetings., and makes no mention of the Shield or KOC (which aren't included). Plus they added the bit about rolling averages about six weeks into the season ! Just asking.
  24. That's according to Greensheet issue 6. Greensheet issue 8 shows the effective date of 01 June!!
