  1. Porsing will fit and be a good choice, although not using the full extent of the average we have to play with, batchelor for me would maybe be a better choice.
  2. Newman back in, batchelor straight swap for covatti during his spell on the sidelines, he's started the season well at kings lynn so should be able to handle the grip at Foxhall!! Surely another Aussie influence in the team would help heeps and may get going a good rivalry between batch and rory, always been a big fan of both posting and busk Jacobsen at foxhall as well
  3. I think on Mondays showing at Peterborough we should be confident of going anywhere with a win in mind and a point a minimum, especially once Mr Newman is fit and raring to go! Having said that Redcar look an ominous outfit with all of their top 4 capable of beating anyone in the league so an away point/win is no gimme for the witches!!
  4. Well that's my first trip to the east of England Showground! I enjoyed the meeting think the panthers fans have certainly overplayed how much better the racing would be than at Foxhall! Only difference I saw was the away team came and had a go unlike the Saturday meeting!! Jack holder very impressive and surely man of the match! Undoubtably you missed Hansen as I'm sure he'll score more than 5 at home more often than not but then equally if we had Newman there's no doubt he'd have scored far better than sarj's big fat zero!! Positively from a witches perspective heeps/covatti pairing looking very good partebership, mountain growing in confidence was very good today and schlein looking good home and away!
  5. Nowt wrong with the track, Ipswich is always grippy it's how Chris Louis always likes to set it up to give a home advantage, just gotta out there and attack it! BWD has only been there once maybe twice and managed just fine to score plenty of points... lambert has been to Foxhall countless times, it's always grippy and he put up very little fight tonight.
  6. i wasn't there i'll admit, but reading the updates doesn't sound like it was really anything other than gate and go at sheffield last night either...... one of the more exciting sounding heats from what the texter had written, was heat 9 whereby shlein was on a tactical ride - texter posted this to be a ding dong battle with kurtz cutting him off on the last bend...just seen the race on speedwaygb website and frankly schlein got close on the last lap but realistically kurtz had him covered the whole 4 laps from you've guessed it... the gate!!! at least at foxhall chris louis has recognised the racing can be improved and this winter has for a second time in the last few years has undertaken major work to change the track shape in a bid to create more lines and therefore a better product to watch for the fans!!
  7. When interviewed on Thursday Rory said he wasn't in any rush for a prem place, it would have to be the right move and that the championship is much more fun!!
  8. would like to think 31 points will be easily achievable for the witches! danny 9 sarj 4 nico 7 cam 4 rory 9 danyon 1 connor 1 34 points and i'd think they'd all score better than that, can see us reaching more like 42/44 points
  9. To be fair it was working on the second bend and was much louder than before
  10. It's a hard call but busk Jacobsen has to be a better option than sarj on the track, a more established rider that could push the top 3 like we would have hoped Kyle would. Sarj rode at 2 all last and while showed a lot of promise and improvement not on the same level currently. Young British lad out of a job yes, but if you're looking to challenge the top end of the table busk Jacobsen the better rider.
  11. Kyle Newman injuries worse than first feared! Three torn muscles, with one significantly being a torn rotator cuff, and a broken shoulder blade! Bad news for him and his teams! Lengthy spell on the sidelines...
  12. Races were only stopped correctly for big jump starts and to your advantage with covatti falling in tac race as it turned from a 6-3 to an 8-1!! Lasse should have been pulled back twice more as well for jumping!! In fairness Todd Kurtz has never gone particularly well at Foxhall, and josh g looked to be struggling to find the speed to really challenge our top boys! Both of them will have much better days and will make you still one of the teams to beat!
  13. Nice comfortable win, schlein a big positive going to be a very strong 1 and 5 In him and Danny, can see there being a bit of healthy competition for the no.1 berth! Connor will only grow in confidence over the first few meetings, especially once he's had a couple of national league meetings where in theory points will be much easier to come by for him, nothing like a few wins to boost confidence! Also was it only from where I was stood that good old babs allowed lasse bjerre a 10 yard head start in his opening two rides????
  14. I'm feeling confident in the new team and want to only think positive ahead of the new season so I'm going for a strong test from Sheffield but a 49-41 to the witches with Danny only getting beat once by grajczonek! 😬
  15. Sadly I'm not going to make it down today! Will have to wait until Saturday for my speedway fix!!
  16. Ah I see! May have to make a little trip out after work this afternoon then! Hopefully the diner will still be open around 3pm 😬 Cheers for the info
  17. So fans can gain access for the practice this year??? Didn't know this! Does it apply for tomorrow afternoon too??
  18. Agree with all the above, good analysis, lots of people trying to burst the positivity in the witches camp but I think injury free we have every reason to be excited about our chances!! Nico taking a break this winter rather than riding all off season back home (first time he's done this since he came to Europe) too so hopefully man and machine will return feeling fresh and ready for the new season!
  19. my old chap spoke to chris on saturday about that when getting his season ticket and said that chris was a bit cagey about it not wanting to give too much away but intimated that a challenge with lynn was on the cards.
  20. Spot on completely agree, not one team that you can honestly say yeah definitely fancy us to go and win there! Obviously everyone's going to have different opinions on which teams look the best overall but I think every set of fans will be happy with the team put together to race on their home tracks, away points are going to be hard to come by this year and will be the difference between playoffs and also rans imo
  21. either as you've suggested alan or perhaps swap newman to 5 and have a powerful 3&4 in schlein and covatti, can't see the benefit in putting schlein at 2
  22. Rory has always ridden well and enjoyed riding Foxhall, he's a very experienced rider and will have good equipment, injury free he'all put plenty on his average! A great asset in the pits too, a natural leader and team man that'll offer loads of help and advice for the younger guys,
  23. stand out teams Ipswich and Sheffield, now Peterborough are complete think they'll be very competitive, i really don't understand why everyone sees glasgow as an amazing line up! the same top 3 as last year and yes the strongest top 3 in the league but then a very long tail! lunna was a supposed trump card last year riding in their main team body and didn't progress that far, to me perry and smith are both good riders with potential but not a vast difference to ayres and garcia, so for them to go one further than last year and be the best team in the league this means young dan bewley has got to outscore rene bach and ben barker from this year in only his second full season in the premier league! he's a great prospect and I'm sure he's on the road to being a top rider in the next few years, but is he going to double his starting average in only his second season at this level and first in main team body???? i can't see it!
