What’s the weather like in Ipswich? miserable at work in southwold -
Witches were well below par tonight, but I’m sorry anyone who thinks Kerr’s move on Dan T was fair and square has got rose tinted glasses on, Dan passed him fair and square up the top turn and Kerr was probably still two bike lengths behind him going past the start finish and into the first turn bend 1 standing on the second bend exit myself and everyone around me were certain that there was contact including the kings Lynn fans beside us, as the rider in front Dan could’ve easily ridden across to the inside going into turn 1 lap 4 but knowing Kerr was coming steaming under him from miles back some self preservation ensued and he rode a little wider and was still sent tumbling. as the rider in front is entitled to ride where they want should he of chopped Kerr off and stood it up in front of him and made sure they both definitely crashed? it’s a shame for it to end on a crash and questionable as it was a closely fought tie between rival teams, and despite being below par tonight on their home track the witches still had a chance of winning the tie on aggregate having moved into a 5-1 in heat 14

Ipswich Witches v Belle Vue 10th July

Disagree with that, Kurtz over the past few seasons has been the most impressive away rider around Foxhall. he had a bum meeting at the start of this season but the whole belle vue side were well out of sorts that night. -

Imagine if it was the other way round and kings Lynn weren’t allowed to use riders in the same way as Ipswich your lot would be in uproar! 🙄🤣 -

So why’s Foord not allowed to ride? He’s English isn’t he so doesn’t need a visa 🙃 -

Can’t understand the Workington lads being blocked from guesting, not their fault their champ club is having difficulties is it, the two young lads riding elsewhere in another league tonight would make zero difference to that situation, how’s it different to ziscke riding for belle vue? -
It’s unsettling how balanced and pragmatic this post is, I fear if the forum continues in this vein the space time continuum may implode… quick someone say something to rebalance it - like why don’t Ipswich get artem laguta over for 28 days, he’s got bikes ready and waiting for the call to come! 🤣🤣🤣

King's Lynn v Ipswich KO Cup SF 1st leg 02/06/25

Honestly I don’t think they would, from what I see a huge percentage of them lack bike control and track craft, they are good at going fast on big wide open tracks when there’s not other riders near and all have really fast bikes - too fast tbh which has led to some big crashes and several senior riders getting completely wiped out by young kids riding machines too powerful for their skill set and just getting launched all over the place when they catch a small bit of grip or a bump. -
Accept he didn’t pass him he rode into him 🤣

Ipswich Witches v Leicester Lions - Thursday, 22nd May
89buttons replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We lost that meeting out of the gate simple as that, always going to be hard to cover the loss of Doyle and Dan but we were consistently beaten from the gate all night which isn’t good enough at home, fair play to Leicester they rode well all night, Luke Becker in particular best gating I’ve seen from him he was very impressive all night. brennan and Emil both seem to be having bike troubles/lack of confidence in their equipment, neither looking happy or anywhere near as fast as we know them to be when at their best, needs addressing by the business end of the season. In match report Richie says he’s hopeful we could have one or both injured boys back for next league meeting which is June 12th which is promising, that may come too soon of course but if that’s a possibility hopefully we’ll be back to full strength in June sometime -

If that’s the case then should own up and say that -
Sheffield v Ipswich Thursday 15th May

Am I right in thinking getting the inside gates early in the meeting is a big advantage at Sheffield? if I am correct winning the toss and getting gate picks could well play a sizeable factor in how close the witches can run Sheffield, either way I think Sheffield will win at home but gate picks could see either the witches make a good start and potentially run them close or the Sheffield boys hit the ground running and build a big lead from the off -
Tbh I just hope we can come through the meeting at Sheffield unscathed, few of our boys have had some big bangs at Sheffield last couple of seasons and it’s an intimidating track! Build a bit of track confidence in this early meeting so we’re in a better place going back there later in the season and playoffs potentially

I said on another thread the other day that the daytime meetings often lead to slick tracks and a lack of home advantage at Foxhall and many other teams fans scoffed at the idea kings Lynn would be our closest challenger at home so far this season, took a while but the boys got themselves in front for a comfy win in the end. be interested to know how much extra revenue a bank holiday meeting brings on the gate and whether it’s still of value to run them as we get decent crowds on Thursday nights and the daytime meetings the track is always tough to keep the moisture in the material to provide grip and a dirt line

An alternative to having less teams in the league could be 6 man teams, was 6 men in 1998 when the witches everything, happy memories as a wee nipper from that season, certainly not diminished product by having smaller sides
