What's happened to that thought of a Most Welcome Bombshell announcement that it's Iversen ( more broken dreams ). Personally, I prefer Riss. Next weeks story could easily be how Eric Riss is concerned that his career could be badly affected by a no deal Brexit? Just to keep KLS in the regional "headlines".
-
One tired idea begets another. Have groups of Star's supporter been singing the anthem much in pubs around the region during the off season? Look how successful the fishermen have been at that - how about The Shalelovers Ensemble. Singing collected speedway anthems 1928 - 2018. Several albums worth there!

Rob Godfrey interview in Speedway Star

Should be around 64,000,000 people. -
Does that mean the beginning of the pre-fabricated stadium ( in some far away place ) may well fulfil the "make a start on the stadium" clause? It likely would if it did not state " make a start on the stadium - on site".
-
Oddly enough, in my experience, Trees CAN see the bigger picture - in private, but not in the smallest way - in public. No-one who is not a speedway fan will be even slightly interested that "It's Riss" The spreading out of "news" will not attract a new audience.

Rob Godfrey interview in Speedway Star

By the sounds of it we should be unable to utter the names of Buster Chapman and Rob Godfrey in the same breath as Bill Veeck ( or link them to the word "promoter" ). Not to mention a few of the other "National Treasures" at the BSPA who have reigned over things since the turn of the century. -
There can be no other outcome, even with Buster Canute doing his best to defy the entire world ( well, those that spend money on UK sporting events ). Death throes are what we are witnessing.
-
I am confident that that is the case where living ex-fans outnumber those who still attend enthusiastically. Many do it out of habit. One thing we can blame Buster for 100% is his inability to listen to well-meant suggestions from supporters who do care ( and want KLS to thrive). Regardless of his other tactical decisions while leading the BSPA, it is this trait which will destroy UK speedway as we know it. Other promoters agree with him by default. Feedback has a different meaning to complaints.
-
It seems to have been a downward spiral or at least a slide for KLS since Buster was "elevated" ( or handed the poisoned chalice ) to lead the BSPA. That had long been his dream to revolutionise UK speedway but as ever these things look so much easier when you are standing on the sidelines. I too feel that the Stars will lose support this year but I hope that it doesn't all end in tears. The whole UK sport could go belly up if all tracks lose another 10% of the fanbase. I just want to see better racing at the AFA and if that was achieved by the promotion, they could easily benefit at the turnstiles.

Any team, whatever the lineup, needs a stadium and a track to race on. No-one knows if that is the case for the Robins yet. Is it really going to be the same old tired track in the same old worn out stadium? And for how much longer? There are only a handful of weeks to the start of the season.
-
We have always known that a KL team of some kind would race in the PL in 2019. There is no guarantee - yet - that Swindon will be doing the same, despite naming a team long ago. Any team needs a stadium and a track to race on. No-one knows if that is the case for the Robins yet. Is it really going to be the same old tired track in the same old worn out stadium?

I thought that they would have used the recent super spring ( or even summer ) weather to get it all done.
-
No bloody point at all, I feel pretty much the same - except it allows Buster to prove that He is the Main Man and what He Says Goes! I think he read it in a 1971 book called "How to Build Up Your Customer Base " - it's out of print now, just as the idea is. I like the second name - Neil Christian something ( it's so long ago I forget ). But, to give Buster some credit he can pull sponsors out of hats it seems! Which self-help book did he learn that from?
-
let's hope that the next check is scheduled for September and not March this year.

20p for the use of the toilets is quite reasonable;e if KLS need to maximise their income streams. The problem is when people don't have the change and they will nip round the back of the building ( a very convenient space ) and the grandstand. It will smell as bad as the long-demolished 4th bend loos. But is that a small price to pay to see that speedway racing continues at Saddlebow Rd? Instead of a change machine that may lead to a build-up of cross-legged fans why not allow an ex-rider to sit at a table outside the toilets and take the money?

those were the days, something to smile about.

Those certainly were the days when speedway was still on the up! I was still crying in Norwich with the loss of my beloved Stars and then only 50 miles away ( along the old A47 ) there was hope! My trusty Triumph Tiger Cub carried me over to the first Saddlebow Road meetings. With the Dereham chip shop so handy at the bottom of the hill for a supper bum break. No Ove Fundin though ( but Terry Betts turned out to be a new Golden Boy )! -
Could well be if the rumours about Buster's backers turn out to be true. Speedway in East Anglia would be a noTHING then.
-
In stits and farts or more in the mode of a blind man letting the guide dog do his talking. In trying to make two steps forward he has taken five back. And as for knowing how to make his businesses work - we have no idea of knowing how KLS has been successful as the accounts are not visible. It will be the same at his new clubs, Ipswich and Peterborough. Buster's great skill seems to be in persuading well-heeled sponsors to believe in his "vision". Not in building up the average attendance or attracting the missing new generation of supporters. Which is vital if UK speedway as a whole is to prosper or even survive.

Follows the Chapman owned and run history. "My way or the highway" has long been the accepted manner of doing things at King's Lynn.

Rob Godfrey interview in Speedway Star

Are you sure that RobGodfrey is aware of the difference between, freshwater fish, UK sea fish or tropical fish? An area for confusion if ever there was one were he to be asked to comment on it. -
Four out of seven and it is nowhere near March yet! Buster is expecting a substantial increase in average attendances due to his dynamic "leave 'em waiting" marketing technique. There are several weeks before opening night 2019.

I thought that Rob Godfrey had some "believers" who were distorting the posts with the All Our Yesterdays" posts in order to soften the criticism of his statements. -
Once you are owned lock. stock and barrel by Buster Chapman, he has you over a barrel! And a Sargasso sea begins to build up so that very little information on who, what where and when seeps out. Lock it all down tight is Buster's way.
