  1. Could do a lot worse than Jonatan grahn, riding very well at the moment
  2. Have to say..what a great advert for speedway last night, for the most part,a pretty close meeting with some fabulous racing..if last night is anything to go by then Jonathan grahns is definitely one to watch but congratulations to the whole Edinburgh team,a very solid performance.a mention too for the ndl meeting that followed, some really fast close racing in that one too..and both meetings over for just after ten o,clock.a nice touch was to see the monarch's team go over to the travelling supporters,a great gesture.
  3. Crowds will be bigger on a Saturday,it doesn't take Einstein to work out that it's a much better night to run speedway..kids not having to be in bed earlier for school...lots of people not working weekends...people not having to rush home from work to get to a meeting....it just makes sense full stop but will never happen mainly because of the monopoly of the mainstream sports channels.
  4. Coventry too and Halifax and b.vue
  5. I think everyone knows damn well that if something in this sport doesn't change drastically then I don't give it more than a couple of seasons tops...I don't see any radical change from last season tbh and in its present form and with the rumours of at least another possibly two tracks not operating next season the future of UK speedway doesn't look good....why is it that a couple of decades down the line,is Poland now the dominant force?? I think I have an inkling... A lot lot better supported...cheaper admission prices and better pay..run better and probably promoted better too.ive been attending this once great sport since 1976 and cannot believe the decline over here...many tracks now defunct and the ones left not looking too healthy. The cost also is a big issue and the rules regarding guests,r/r etc a complete joke..as mentioned many times before by people, how do you explain to newcomers that through a full season, unless you're extremely lucky, that chances are you won't see the same riders riding week in week out for their clubs..I used to follow this sport a hell of a lot and have parted with a lot of money in the process and I can't believe that it is now July and I've not attended, along with my wife, one meeting! I just don't have the enthusiasm or the finances now to do so.i also believe that yes, while it is a good thing for people who do not have the available money to follow their team, that seeing it on one of the streaming sites is a good alternative but in my opinion it's killing the sport and is one of the reasons crowds are down at many venues.i just hope for the sake of this wonderful sport that had been a big part of my life, that it's fortunes take a turn for the better.
  6. He's a 100% out and out battler and maybe some of the so called stars could do with some of his enthusiasm...just saying.
  7. I've been on about the catering in previous threads over the last few seasons,it's been p..s poor ever since the old catering unit was replaced...curry sauce was second to none and the steak pie was to die for....not any more!!
  8. FFS...at a time like this who gives a s..t about your opinion.
  9. Absolutely awful news for tai and his family..best wishes to all of them..
  10. Totally agree tony, that's why, after discussing with the missus,we no longer feel that what we have to fork out, warrants the outlay especially with rising costs elsewhere and income barely rising to compensate this.its a sad state of affairs but after following the tigers since I was 15,the time has come to say enough is enough, which is a bit sad but a nessecity.
  11. It's getting a little crazy now..it's not just the admission cost,it's the total package, for myself and spouse to go,looking at £50 +3.00 prog + 3.00 parking+5.00 fuel that's £61 before you even factor in any food and drink...that's 4.00 per race,6.00 if it's called off at HT 10.£61 for what equates to 15 mins of racing...value for money? I understand the overheads but....I rest my case,we for one won't be attending this season because of rising costs elsewhere.
  12. Sorry, didn't make myself clear,I meant in the referees box.
