Belle Vue -V- Wolves (Eurosport)
Rob B replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As you will have watched it on TV over the last 5 years you will know it’s not normally like that. Was very grippy which meant fast times but poor racing as riders just held it to the inside. -

Correct, fast times tonight which means poor racing as the inside is grippy and fastest way round. It got bit better in last couple of heats when Wright started finding some grip on the outside line but too late then. I do wonder how much difference this new tyre has made too. -

St peters school is the only car park at moment as the other car parks being used at covid test and vaccine centres. There is quite a bit of street parking available but the showcase cinema car park now gone as been demolished. -

It does drain well and if it stopped raining now it would be on if dry for couple of hours, but it’s not stopped raining all day and forecast till at least 7-8pm now. The only bad day of the week, going to be warm and dry for the rest of the week with 24 degrees on Thursday. -

I’d be very surprised if it was, lot of people and external companies involved to rearrange in few days. -

That’s the problem with it being on TV, the tv people will be set up now so they will give it as long as possible, probably look at it about 5pm. Still a lot more heavy rain to come for the next couple of hours. If it stops by 5pm and it’s dry for couple of hours then may have a chance as the drainage is excellent and it’s not cold, currently 18 degrees. But the track will be very grippy and can’t have any more rain later this evening. -

Surprised the referee didn’t give it as a dead heat as he can’t be bothered to make any other decisions. -

Why Crump not riding when he was at Glasgow on Friday ready to ride until rained off? -
Can see why Sheffield have not been complaining about the restrictions now, while other clubs have been limited to 25-33% of capacity, Sheffield must have been at around 75% last night, locals were saying it was bigger crowd then they were getting pre-covid. Great atmosphere with a large amount of Aces fans and a nip and tuck meeting. First half of the meeting was poor but second half made up for it. Rowe although his points on board don’t look much he was the match winner with some of his last gasp passes, don’t know where he got the grip from on the inside of last bend. Disappointing to lose by 2, but there was couple of mistakes like Richie fall and Etheridge tapes touch in easiest ride.
-
Racing suddenly got lot better from heat 8 now inside slickened off.
-
Pure gating contest, no one close to passing and it’s not fair gating either as tapes going up on inside first every heat and nothing been done about it.
-
The rider who should have been as riding star but wasn’t guesting for rider who shouldn’t have been a rising star but is.

Worst thing King could have done giving them more time to sort out Masters bike.
