  1. Robbo was but he now works for a company doing fire wall protection around the midlands.
  2. Scott robson , I think he does loft conversations in and around sunderland.
  3. Kevin little , car and van sales and garage in kelso
  4. It just shows how much Paul wants Archie to achieve his speedway dream , I would imagine he ( possibly with some sponsors help ) spent a few quid on fuel etc doing those three meetings.
  5. Yes , his brother has been with him a long time . He used to ride a few years back .
  6. Correct on both , Tony swales always prepped a very good track - wonder wheel followed by some sort of wire fencing to scatter the shale material evenly . I don't think many tracks were as good.
  7. Cleveland Park was located almost partly under the flyover on the south side of the water . I remember as a child seeing on a few occasions car's pulling up on the exit of the flyover to have a quick watch of a heat or two before the Copper's turned up to move them on lol. If you look for it now it's five-a-side football pitches ( the cage type).
  8. At 11.36 into the footage the boarded up window to the left of the blue door is about as near to Charles's office as you could get ( I know his wife always sat in there) to the best of my knowledge. I know the management office was always in that area.
  9. Probably due to the choice of scunthorpe being the only other option available in the current situation , and as far as I know Leicester has been available for hire seven days a week for quite a few years now. Obviously not available if any pre arranged event has filled the date already.
  10. Lee smart retired for the second time in his career
  11. I think pinny is referring to Michael Lee and Frank smart ?
  12. Didn't Danny bird live somewhere like Penzance when he rode for Glasgow and fly up for meetings ?
  13. I think your thinking of the wrong Stefan neilsen - the one on this video is the ginger one currently still riding . He can win races but I'd say he's not the most in control rider I've ever seen.
  14. Robbo was very lucky to survive that crash , his bike was left hanging from the top of the stock car fence. He spent nearly four months in hospital .
  15. I remember David bargh was half decent, the others mentioned so far haven't really made any of their opposition quake in their boots , it's strange that a country that has produced some legends seems to have run dry of talent. Maybe there are a few hidden gems waiting to Grace these shores one day .
  16. Has there been any decent riders from new Zealand since mark thorpe ?
  17. If I'm not wrong Kevin doolan was the first to use this - you push the fork blade down to set it and once you've made a start a lever is pushed ( or pulled) to release the forks to the original position , it is used on Motocross bikes to compress the suspension for a better ( hard front end , not springing about ) start line take off .
  18. I think in the end he took whatever he was using off so he didn't get any more questioning about it from officials etc- I'm sure variations of such have been tried over the years - nothing beats gating ability to give an initial advantage.
  19. Watch on YouTube , smolinski explains the switch - it's technical wizardry.
  20. The problem is isn't the refs box in the grandstand ?
  21. Anyone know if the Julie Lewis memorial meeting is being run this season ?
  22. Certainly was a sad day to watch on the north east news the aftermath of the fire . Everyone I knew had their regular seats in that grandstand.
  23. Yes your right , in the same season was what I was wondering about.
