Think you could be right there Manse, lesson learned for next year, wait until the AGM is over before signing riders.
-
It is a strange way to build to 38, Sarjeant was a reserve last season and with two 2 pointers I don’t see him dropping down any time next season, Vissing was in the comfortable middle pairing and will probably be at the much more difficult number 5. Starke has to have a blinding season and our last signing, Barker or Bjerre would be good but looks like Jensen who can be a hit or a miss and If at anytime we have to go with RR especially if it’s for Sarj or Starke god help us.
-
Got to give the two new reserves a chance as it seems all the so called best two pointers have been snapped up. could be tough on a few away trips with Cookie no doubt taking a TR at most away venues When you see Garcia and young Flint at Berwick at reserve ours looks uninspired, big pressure on the top 5 to score every week

2019 Championship Confirmed Signings
Tigerforever replied to AbbyTheWitch's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Decent team -
What about the other 3 years ? The statement said 6 figure losses since the new owners took over!

Workington 2019

I thought it was Proctor who had the spat about our track in the play off semi final ? -
Bit harsh, Cookie was a run off away from being back in the GP next season.
-
I suppose it depends on the rest of the team, if he is main body and we have a decent reserve they might swap throughout the season?

Workington 2019
Tigerforever replied to TotallyHonestJohn's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That was a strange one, though I’m not convinced only the one man makes the decisions as we seem to have a management team in place now, I counted 12 on the track walk at the last meeting lol -
Would be very disappointed if rival fans wanted to see any club close, I think it’s to do with the statement that our Championship future could be in jeopardy yet we are supposedly still paying more than other clubs, and in some cases outbidding other clubs for riders. The marketing side is still fantastic with the video for season tickets very well thought out, If/when we announce Cook & Jensen I’m certain opposition supporters will find it difficult to understand the ( we can’t go on losing money statements ) in light of the allegations made against the club by so many of the forum users on these pages about silly money being thrown at riders.

Birmingham Brummies 2019
Tigerforever replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great to see Birmingham back up, wishing them all the best. -
Two 2 pointers at reserve, if Sarjeant is back then I think it should have been at reserve, Sheffield have a 4 pointer at reserve and a 2 pointer .
-
Surprised at this announcement considering travel apparently was a big problem, under 6 point average and should go up in a much weaker league, he’s so much better than that!
-
Luke Chessel Thought he had retired years a go ? Joe Lawlor, don’t know much about him to be honest, if true tail was always going to be weak if Cook is at number 1

2.5% reduction for British riders who came through the conference or national league, If they have races for Australia at any level I wouldn’t think they qualify?
-
Good signing, Edinburgh going with a top number 1 and a solid team to back him up, clever way to go
-
Can we get back to who’s signing or what people would like to see regarding team for 2019 as the thread is just a complete mess, time to draw a line over the past two weeks comments and have some grown up discussion, no offence meant.
-
So who has meant to have signed then?
-
Bit harsh, I’ve just watched the interview and it’s clear the guy asking the questions jumps from Sheffield to Leicester when asking him questions, no wonder he didn’t know which club he was referring too lol also many a rider can be more cleverer on a bike, just miss enterpretated his reply.
-
I think in Kemp you have a rider who can double his average, balance looks spot on to me.
-
I would rather Glasgow still came to the tapes in 2020 than outbid other clubs for riders for 2019 and put the club in jeopardy. I find it hard to believe the rumours of the money being offered to riders after the statement put out a couple of weeks a go about the losses the club revealed for the last three seasons!
-
As you say definitely savings to be made from your list, previous team manager ? I thought he didn’t do this season unless Cami Brown was on full time wages?
-
So like last season he will be treated differently to every other Brit in British speedway, legal action again maybe lol
-
Plus teams were built with bonus points back then which added another 2/3 points on to the actual team averages
-
15 fixtures will be the minimum, I would think most clubs will have a first meeting challenge and an individual bringing it to 17 fixtures the more successful clubs will do something like 20 plus I would imagine i do understand the frustration with it being a 38 points limit but what would supporters prefer a 42:5 with 7/8 clubs
