Poor attempt at humour if that’s what you were implying, Speedway can’t afford to lose any clubs.

This seems to be dragging on so much that I’ve no idea why there was a cut off date at 16th September , Workington could have raced there final home fixture by now and finished 2nd in the table thus giving them choice of either the first leg or second. Its obvious both clubs will only race when it suits them, unfortunately if they can’t sort it out between them the Bspa will have to intervene and force a deadline, which I’m surprised hasn’t already been forced. Regardless of who is right or wrong, reading this thread it’s pissing people off already , it just wouldn’t happen in any other sport!

Lots of replies to Mark Philips statement yet not one poster named the third tier of British speedway by its proper name, National Development League ! Unfortunately I believe rightly or wrongly this is now a stand alone league and no longer the development league it was set up to be, If the talk about lower points limit in the Premiership to encourage teams from the Championship to move up is true then what becomes of the Championship? Would the so called bigger teams in the Third tier move up ? no matter what happens it seems clubs can’t find middle ground no matter what league they race in, You can’t tell me Buxton will ever challenge Mildenhall, or if the two top leagues merge can Scunthorpe compete with Poole Answers on a postcard

I think it suits Glasgow not to race the play off against Workington until October as by then Bewley will be 4th in the averages so only RR for him and with Sarjeant also looking likely to drop back down to reserve from October which means if Greaves is not fit then RR allows Starke an extra ride and Sarjeant an extra 3.

Workington v Newcastle 21/09/18 7:30 koc2nd leg
Tigerforever replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shambles the only word to describe the Newcastle team at Workington tonight, And people wonder why crowds are down and the sport can’t attract decent league sponsorship, Shame for the home promotion too who are clearly struggling to balance the books and will no doubt score 60+ tonight making it a very expensive night . -
With Peterborough v Lakeside dates arranged for the play off semi final very swiftly after the cut off its rather quiet up here in the north regarding the other play off between Glasgow & Workington, Would have thought next weekend would have been ideal? Cook has a GP the following weekend including practice plus another one after that and then there’s the final to arrange if we get through. The silence is deafening!

Great draw for both Glasgow & Workington travel wise, With the addition of Cook and the absence of Bewley the Tigers now look stronger than when the teams met earlier in the season. Glasgow have the top end fire power with Harris now back on form but if Campton turns it on at reserve he could make all the difference. I also think whoever wins this tie will win the play off final.

Lakeside v Glasgow Friday 14th
Tigerforever replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Decent score for the Tigers hitting 40 at Lakeside as it’s a tough place to go to, I don’t see the Hammers being as dominant at Rye House as they have been at home all season and if they finish top and pick Glasgow my money would be on us. Travel wise Workington v Glasgow would be ideal . -
Ipswich v Glasgow Thursday 13th

Craig Cook will hopefully add numbers to falling attendances at the championship clubs that Glasgow have still to visit, Cant see that being wrong when the sport is struggling to break even season after season. Not sure we will see him in the championship in 2019 if the rumoured new league structure goes through. On to tonight, Glasgow need to win this as I feel this is the best chance of an away win over the next two evenings Reserves could be key! -
Is Speedway still viable in the UK?
Tigerforever replied to JamesHarris's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Spot on, But when it’s the promoters money on the table it’s little wonder there scared to experiment with it. This forum has people who are full of great ideas and I believe most of the ideas would benefit British speedway but when it’s not your dough it’s very easy to speculate. But one things for sure if you don’t listen to your paying customers they will eventually disappear! -
My first post, Have just read that Conor Mountain is injured and misses tomorrow nights meeting and will be replaced by Jordan Stewart. Think that makes it all the harder for the Tigers as I believe Mountain was a shrewd choice of guest who could have made a huge difference looking at some of his Premiership scores.
