  1. The racing has definitely got better in the last few weeks, especially the later heats. Anyone know why there wasn't any tractor grading after heat 4?
  2. Does "all four back" officially exist as an option for refs? It's just something they seem to do when a rider comes off on the first bend. Enjoyable meeting, some very good racing. Pickering & Lawson were impressive, Crumpy ran out of steam, but Plymouth were really a four man team. Impressed with Kennedy, he seems to be improving week by week.
  3. Andersen hasn't scored like a number 1 away from home, six at Plymouth & Birmingham. There may also be an issue with his availability if we have any more rain offs and/or have to ride on "off" nights to get the fixtures completed as I think he has teams in Denmark & Poland. I don't know why Lawson didn't perform or ride in heat 15, he's usually a reliable performer at Leicester; can only speculate it was money issues, hopefully that problem wouldn't occur at Beaumont Park.
  4. Lawson to Leicester in place of Andersen? A bit harsh perhaps but I imagine he would be cheaper and I don't think we would lose much scoring power.
  5. I'm also coming over and looking at where to park. Holford Drive was mentioned on a previous thread. Looking at Google maps there's a housing estate just north of One Stop (Cliveden Ave etc). Is that any good?. Seems to be a crossing over the A34 to get to the stadium and easy access to M6 Junction 7. Thanks
  6. I predict a Lions win but I think it could be reasonably close. Schlein & King both go pretty well round Leicester, Worrall is capable of a big score and Hume obviously knows the track from his days with the cubs. Will be interesting to see how Kennedy goes, I don't think he pulled up any trees when he rode here with Sheffield in 2019.
  7. Zaine Kennedy is riding tomorrow according to the Lions website.
  8. He probably realises that he has more chance of improving by regularly racing against a better standard of rider.
  9. I was being slightly sarcastic in my comment about 'ifs and buts', (perhaps I should have added maybe's) but it does sometimes seem as if the rules/regulations are over complicated for what is 4 blokes racing 4 laps around a track.
  10. I'm afraid not, rider averages are one of speedways mysteries to me. I just keep my eye on the averages on the SGB website, but it's full of asterisks, greyed out figures and ifs and buts!
  11. Pretty sure the rider with the highest average has to be No 1. Douglas was due to be number 1 I think until we signed Andersen
  12. I thought the meeting was efficiently run, riders were coming out for the next race almost as soon as the previous one finished. Only one re-start I think, and all over in 90 minutes or so, including a 10 minute interval. Slightly disappointed in Jorgensen and Aarnio - I think he's ridden at Leicester as often as Josh Bates this season.
  13. I suppose you can't have a guest for a rider that hasn't signed so Knight is more of a short term signing until Kennedy signs?
  14. Jake Knight listed on the Leicester team declarations/green sheet section on the Speedway GB website?
  15. Will be interesting how they line up. Obviously Andersen at 1 and I imagine the second new signing at 2. Will Dickson want to have Morris and Douglas at 3 and 4 as they are at Wolves? Personally I'd prefer Morris at 5 and Douglas at 4.
  16. Hans Andersen rode for Leicester in 2018, so wouldn't be making his debut.
  17. I probably am, but I think they are hinting at someone new to the club, or why not just say "our new signing will be riding on Saturday"?
  18. By saying "making his debut", it presumably rules out Perks, Auty or Bjerre?
  19. If England beat Germany tomorrow, will they re-arrange the Kent match this Saturday?
  20. The comments suggest to me that he is only looking to find a replacement for Proctor and not a double change.
  21. Would Josh Auty fit for either Proctor or Bates, or would we need to replace them both for him? Are Fredriksen or Ruml who rode at Glasgow in the GP qualifier looking for a team?
  22. I know, but I think it's likely existing restrictions will be extended and can you deny riders the opportunity to earn a living?
  23. Interesting comments from Mr Dickson in the Edinburgh match preview article on the website. I wonder if he is looking at any Birmingham riders?
  24. Obviously a long way to go but I would stick with the present team at the moment. I think the Thompsons are doing ok, from what I saw on Sunday they were on the pace but could do with getting out of the gate more quickly. I heard or read that Nick Morris and Ryan Douglas were going to help them with that so that should be beneficial. Agree Josh Bates is a concern, but I'm not sure where we would get replacements from to score 6/7 points a meeting. I can't see Polish riders being allowed to ride in the Championship - are there any in British speedway at the moment? The problem with bringing in promising Scandinavian riders not based in the UK, apart from travel/quarantine issues is Brexit. They would need a visa. At the moment Glasgow look the strongest team and Edinburgh on Friday will be a good test, but I think we are strong enough to make the playoffs.
  25. Can anyone confirm start time for Saturday matches? Website fixtures page says 7pm, twitter post regarding Douglas and Morris flying back says 7.30. Thanks.
