  1. Still raining in Manchester this morning, I know how everyone loves a weather report?! I'm singing in the rain.......Hot Chocolate classic "Pirates win again, Pirates win again"
  2. Lisa, oddly my post as disappeared Now make urs disappear........
  3. Just got back to me room. Wot a shower! And I don't mean the rain!
  4. Perfect weather ere at the NSS & no sign of the wet stuff. But this is Manchester! All focus now on the 16 riders, who will become the British Champion 2022? Eyes down look in let the fun n games begin. This Turnip observes proceedings from the back row of section C (left of start gate as u look from the inside of the track) Toot Toot
  5. I hope the BBC is correct but from my experience it's the least reliable forecast. Met Office is the most reliable but u also av to add in the Manchester factor Anyways, 5 mins & I'm making me way across to the NSS & I'm gonna try to put the sky to the back of me noggin! C'MON LAWSON KING & STEVIE WORRALL
  6. Crikey, Lisa u should enter the next Olympic Games!
  7. It's taken a while but finally the opposition are paying at the gate!
  8. Arrived at a sunny Belle Vue........ hope it stays that way.......Storm Bugga due at 9pm! For those Oxford fans out there & any fans of this former World Finalist......I've just been chatting to the Long Eaton Invaders Legend that is Mr Jan 'Stekkers' Staechmann! I'd nipped inside the NSS & stood on the 4th bend observing the water truck doing it's watering business, looked behind me & there Jan was Keeping as trim as ever I'm sure he'd still be in the mix even at 56. Oh, and his Simon Wigg teeth are as white as ever! Top racer, Station Road Legend They may av taken our stadium but they'll never take our memories. Always an Invader. An Adopted Pirate Turnip
  9. Just been chatting to Jan Staechmann on the 4th bend inside the NSS. Long Eaton Invaders Legend Top racer
  10. I'm inside the NSS, on the 4th bend. Water truck doing plenty of laps getting the water down
  11. Fair play, as they say pay yer money take yer choice
  12. It's on Eurosport itself according to my Sky planner, I've set the record only to see if I can spot meself in the crowd tho! As anyone actually got Discovery+? As much as I love me speedway I don't understand why it's put on that channel coz I wudn't think many wud subscribe to it for speedway.
  13. Hope it stays dry this evening as rain is forecast to arrive from 8pm onwards. Just about to leave Sheffield on the train, the rambler's special taking in the scenic route..... changing at liddle old Romiley to get to Belle Vue at 1pm. Then it's lunch at the burger van outside the stadium. Small tip, buy burgers, chips etc from this van as meal deals are only a fiver. Food inside the stadium is do da expensive! Travelodge where I'm staying just off Hyde Road is a good place to stay and cheaper than the Diamond Lodge.
  14. Please correct me if I'm wrong....... I can't think that a British Major Event as had to advertise for sponsors in this way before or in the Speedway Star as Birmingham have done. The sceptical side of me says that potential sponsor's are slow in coming forward because they are concerned about the event going ahead given the perilous state the host promotion are in hence the need to advertise.
  15. Seriously? You could say the U21 Final is being hijacked by it being held at Birmingham never mind anything else! I've never seen a British Major Event advertising in the Star for sponsors before so that should set the alarm bells ringing that having the U21 Final at Birmingham is not going to get the support.
  16. And I broke wind in 3 places when they all shouted bottoms up!
  17. The tractor driver at Leicester shud go out on track to the sound of "you spin me round round baby right round like a tractor baby right round"
  18. Third bend as been dodgy for sum time at Leicester. It looked like it was responsible for Lawson's (guesting for Monarchs) chain coming off.
  19. The BSPA Chairman trying to make a decision Making me mind up (Bucks Fizz)
  20. Wonder if they are planning a street party in Sheffield for the Jubilee Final?!
  21. C'mon the Pirates Me luvvly Pirates You make me happy when skies are grey
  22. Don't Panic Don't Panic I'll be there Steve waving me Jolly Roger! I do agree with you though about having a 3 leg final. Why change the format for the Final? I'll never ever get me noddle around the inner thinking of the B.S!(PA) when deciding where & when things are held & I include the Championship Riders'Final in that especially now being on a Wednesday. No thought for the supporters at all on that one!
  23. I'm hoping first & foremost that of me Pirates' takes the glory of being crowned British Champion 2022. Richard Lawson, Danny King & Stevie Worrall all av a great chance with Danny having been crowned champion in 2016. As I'm a regular at the Lions Den & 3 of my mates are Lions fans so if Kyle Howarth or Richie Worrall wins I would be happy & applaud for them. But please note: I'm a Pirates fan not a Lions fan.........I don't cross fertilize! Dan Bewley, I think everyone would cheer out loud for this young man. I've got a photo of him at Belle Vue in a wheelchair after his bad smash them few years ago. Now look at him, Gold & a Silver SON medals & a GP rider and it's only a matter of time before he becomes our liddle but big British Champion. I was at Belle Vue to witness British SON glory & I'll be there to witness the next British Champion. Bring it On
