National League AGM (or whatever they have)
HGould replied to BuxtonTiger's topic in National League Speedway
The sooner Barry Bishop is put in charge of the 3rd Tier under whatever Title the better. May be the only hope. Certainly far more qualified in every regard that a stooge taking the 3rd tier on a branch line to nowhere and oblivion. -
Told you all 2 weeks ago Schlein and Hume and no reason to change my mind. Surely Stoneman will go to Plymouth if they are allowed in to CL
-
interpretation of what's been said here is that would not be a problem. Problem would be the kid could not ride at 6 or 7 s would have to be on Rising Star Programme but would have to ride in top 5? May be I've misunderstood but that's my interpretation

Don't think he's missed the point at all. This scheme is introduced for 2021 but main implementation for 2022. Some Clubs with riders like Bailey; Edwards ; Flint; Gilkes ; Jenkins; Palin; Thomas; Thompson etc had a young British No 7 selected and CONFIRMED for 2020. Why on earth would you move those out or change them, or un-confirm someone already confirmed? Some Clubs have more than one off the scheme but in 2021 the only issue is No 7, so why would those with a couple have to give up one when there are dozens to choose from? The questions are more about 2022.

Bickley will never be much more than an NDL heat leader. Flint and Kemp will be PL heat leaders in time, possibly make good careers in Poland. Flint can go a long way in the Sport

Maybe we are all looking in the wrong place. British Speedway communication is an absolute cesspit of incompetence. It needs an expert and not someone whose main claim to fame is yelling "woofy woofy woofy" like an inebriated soccer hooligan
-
would love to see the lad back at Brummies but I think our needs are more established heat leader / top second string.
-
funny thing, saw a copy of this a few weeks ago and Palin and Joe Thompson were 2 Star and Dan Thompson 1 Star. you are probably very accurate in your conspiracy theory. I think the big mistake is to have genuine "Rising Stars" and "solid NDL performers who have been around a fair while" on the same programme. Not compatible for a serious attempt to deliver a proper programme. It all adds to view of a lot that NDL is being quietly ditched.

Might be The Chairman..

Birmingham Brummies 2020
HGould replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Be good to hear of some rider signings soon Sure Peter David and Laurence are working hard. I assume Jack will be the Rising Star? Hopefully a solid 1 to 6 to give us some entertainment. Jab done waiting for 2nd one. Speedway would be best tonic though. -
Seems a lot of people have seen a secret list? So which Promoters have broken the code or which forum Members are telling porkies. Hopefully the latter otherwise the Chairman might need to investigate. Whoops

National League AGM (or whatever they have)
HGould replied to BuxtonTiger's topic in National League Speedway
Just hope there is an NDL as it's being too quiet and worries that it might be just a second half for the PL Clubs as that was planned for 2020 initially. Hope the news will come out quicker than the Fixtures for PL/CL have! -
Read somewhere 1 star are ndl riders with little experience. So Palin, Thompson, Edwards etc are rated on good NDL form. CL experienced are 3 or 4 stars

Rory and Danyon

It's something that is long overdue as communications in general aren't good. They really need an independent outside agency or expert in the field. I guess if you pay peanuts though you get monkeys Mike from BV maybe a good call.
-
No news at all about National League, is there actually going to be one ? Will PL continue with the PL Academy idea and therefore take a lot of NDL Riders?

Rory Schlein and Danyon Hume

Can see why they were so keen to keep that team. They look like a professional Club with a plan. You can be sure Poole Leicester and Glasgow will be right at the top too I think.

On the old 3 tiers.. Tier 1 max 4000 but 50% so 2000..Tier 2 max 2000 but 50% so 1000. So most speedway in October would have been allowed 1000. That was in Speedway Star at the time.

Love Len a legend of the sport. When you're his age anyone under 50 is a bright young prospect.
-
sadly it might be somewhere in Leicester or Scunthorpe
-
Might have something to do with the post AGM press release last Thursday promising Fixtures, Eurosport Announcement, Teams and the suggestion of some new ideas.

Bridger said on his Facebook it's a PL Club. I did wonder if it might be Brummies as he lives close to Peter and David Surely Josh Bates is Leicester signing now Somerset not running?
-
call me cynical but that's what 40 continuous years of watch speedway does to you "working together" ; "this year is more about taking part" ; "it doesn't matter who wins the league" Hear it all before, many times. It's usually meaning "I've got a massive improver or two from (perm any speedway nation on the globe) who I can sneak in on a 4 point average and catch the rest cold" The more some Promoters bleat, especially the serially competitive ones (nowt wrong with that by the way) like Ford, CVS , Dickson to name but three, about winning not being important, the more you know they have something up their sleeves! Wait for the actual 1-7 or 1-6 to be declared and then comment and make you're mind up!

Agree. A successful team pulls in crowds. Compare Swindon and Peterborough last PL season 2000 at Swindon end of season about 500 at Peterborough. Look at CL where Glasgow and Leicester amongst biggest crowds. As much as people want to see Speedway when season starts, that will soon wear off when losses on track mount up. All Clubs want to be realistic some will always have bigger expectations than others and a pedigree of winning.
