Season officially cancelled think we all knew it was coming

So does anyone know what’s happening in regards to getting the season started, are we waiting for the next government update or are we expecting a statement some time this week to say we are running in August or what ? If they intend to start first week in August I’m sure people would know by now ?

Well Neil’s is in Poland for the foreseeable. So I would sign him up. Not sure if Hans is riding Poland or not but BWD will score just as many points round the showground than anyone in my opinion

I’ve had an email from the ACU stating that all motorcycle competition is suspended until at least 30th April, as the ACU is the governing body of motorcycle sport in the UK then I suspect the speedway cannot start again on 15th April and must adhere to what ACU state,

Good shout, the BHA have said horse racing continues but behind closed doors. Therefore they will still need ambulance cover..... interesting

Arnt the medical team at speedway events St. John’s ambulance. I thought they were volunteers.? Can they no still volunteer. Unless there is a big accident and a county ambulance needs calling I can’t see why speedway can’t get the medical cover.

No speedway at the showground for at least 2 months I heard. Plus they need to get the grandstand fixed as well

Speaking to a few people today I think that they want to cancel the supporters cup and basically start the season when the first prem fixtures were due to take place in a month or so time. This is just one of the options. I guess we will know more come Tuesday

Tungate is based in wroclaw in Poland for the speedway season. I don’t think he will be able to leave Poland for a few weeks yet

Can see the speedway season getting affected by this soon. As of Monday no gatherings of over 500 people in Scotland. That’s Glasgow and Edinburgh speedway in trouble

So who’s got any inside info on this number 7? I hope it’s soemone who has never ridden in British speedway. Be nice to see someone new on our tracks

Just heard Bradley’s replacement had been signed and will be announced in the morning. The whole safety fence at the showground has been replaced as well. Management are spending some money this year !

I mentioned grondal earlier and someone told me that foreign riders have to have a minimum of 4pt average and grondal is 3.87 so your right. Doubt it will be him

Very true, the money is still there for them, Carl just needs to pick up the phone. I appreciate he’s probably at panic stations looking for some reserves but at least keep me posted regarding sponsorship opportunities

I think the management/promotion need to be a bit more vocal with the public and Peterborough speedway could be the place to be on a Thursday night. It’s a shame as they don’t seem interested. My company has emailed Peterborough speedway twice offering sponsorship and after w while we had a reply from Carl asking if he could ring us, we provided a phone number and havnt heard anything since. Either the club has loads of money or they just can’t be bothered!

It’s a big risk though, what if Bjerre gets injured ? Just makes no sense. Surely you would want a 1-7 who all want To ride with the team for a while season, I’m not expecting much from these last 2 signings

Why would Peterborough sign a rider tat can only commit to half the season, We will probably have Nicholls as number 1 at this rate !

Anyone know when the televised fixtures will be released ?

I have a feeling tungate will start as number 1, can’t see a top rider signing, iversen would have signed by now. With 4 weeks to go I think the last 2 riders might be a bit of a panic buy as the saying goes. As much as I’d love to see crump back on a bike in the UK I just don’t know where or how the rumour came from
