  1. The line-up fails to inspire me 7 the future of the NDL is in serious trouble if it's not supported by the top table or the riders
  2. Test results must be at zero to gain a negative pass. I remember an Oxford rider some years ago raced at Oxford in the morning & was due to ride at Reading in the evening. He admitted to drinking a larger shandy before leaving Oxford but failed a test at Reading a few hours later. It might be what is known as passive smoking that is the issue however as a professional sportsman you need to be aware & responsible for yourself & surroundings at all times.
  3. I saw the two German Kids at the Golden Helmet in Pardubice last month. Ove Fundin was also there as a previous champion & he was very impressed with young Patricia Erhart
  4. Whilst I might agree with you in parts the one thing that we must consider is this is British speedway & we do not use a squad system so picking horses for courses is not an option. I'm fairly sure Vissing is fit to race at this stage & his absence is now tactical but of course it also impacts on Sheffield who also race on the Tuesday after the call off at Ipswich, will be keeping an eye on the Premiership match.
  5. I can't honestly see Laguta or Sayfutinov being in the equation. They are Russians that have moved to Poland & taken Polish passports but the PZM has not used them as Poles within their international fixtures nor have they appeared in the National championship. My guess is that Poland will not nominate them for consideration.
  6. A new name & a new nation will be entered on the honor role as champion. The final was a great race. Jason Doyle was sent to the air bags in the first running & all six riders were allowed to restart. Then it was Doyle again who was to suffer with a puncture whilst in front & looking to record his fourth victory in the event. Then the Fin with a clear goal on his mind to avenge last seasons failure worked his way to the front of the remaining pack of riders & was the first to see the chequers after a long 6 laps.
  7. Great to see Timo Lahti pull off the win after he was cheated of a run in the final last year after a clash at the start his race was over in 6 metres
  8. The CL Play-offs have also been in the calender all year. All of the fixtures have been rearranged so the rules are up in the air but riders must be available to represent their clubs at all SCB/BSP scheduled events. If the forecast is to be believed then Workington & BSP should work together & pick another date & maybe rethink the staging time for this event moving forward.
  9. I wonder if the Zmarslik issue was from a higher level in Polish speedway. Prior to the Danish SGP the rider is 24 points clear, he could become Champion in Denmark. Now with only this event before the Toron SGP & the chance to crown the new Polish World Champion on home soil. How can it be manipulated to boost ticket sales for the final round.
  10. 10 points is not the safest margin. however it could prove to be a little easier for Oxford regards the use of any tactical changes. Glasgow used Harris as soon as it was possible but Oxford can afford to be 12/14 behind & use it to its best advantage. It will be a very tense affair at Glasgow I'm sure
  11. I can't believe it. Only a few short weeks ago I was talking to him at Oxford as he was like a small child hanging over the third turn fence watching the racing along with his brother. The Kennetts are true fans of speedway & Gordon will be greatly missed. Don't ride faster than the angels can fly.. Best wishes to his family & friends at this sad time RIP
  12. The drug testing company used turn up in the pits only about an hour prior to the start time & only the Referee will be told to expect them. As the rules state that all riders need to be at the track at least an hour before they should not be missing. I'm not saying it has not happened in the past but the testers learn quickly. There can be no excuse for taking any type of drug, the selected riders are asked before any testing is done have they taken any drugs at all & even headache & flu medication would be suggested. I know a rider once failed an alcohol test after using mouthwash. It was a minimal reading & the tester offered him time &suggested he rinse with cold water then the second test was a zero reading.
  13. Thats a 30% success for the host but in those 23 events was the 4-3-2 system used in all of them.
  14. With the scoring system used in pairs events I don't think there is much in the "home track advantage" argument. Not having to beat both riders is a different kettle of fish. However the short format will mean maximum scores will be the deciding factor for qualification to the latter stages.
  15. Berwick were much handicaped by the R/R only returning 2 points but even that a big win for the chargers was never going to be in doubt
  16. The SCB/ACU only has the power to ban a rider in this country. However it is seen to be sensible to advise the FIM & the riders own FMN (National federation) & they may impose their own punishments considering the reasons for the ban
  17. I'd have to agree I think the home team 56+
  18. I have enjoyed attending in the past but in recent years have failed to find out the date of this event. Does anyone know when or if there will be one in 2023?
  19. I agree, Poole's success over many seasons & either league is largely down to Mr Ford & his ability to treat his riders like employees & not mates. I*f they are not returning the scores he would like & the team are suffering he's not slow in making a change & most of the time he makes a sound choice. Maybe if more clubs adopted a simular strategy they may find the success that Poole have had for so long
