The problem is what big hitting number is 1 is available!
-
The article on the scunny website about the meeting was frank but very true, this is what they put. Troy Batchelor was awful at No 1 for Workington – probably the worst-ever leading visitor to the Eddie Wright Raceway. The former Grand Prix rider looked completely disinterested, did not finish any of his four outings and even blocked team-mate Vuolas while pulling out of Heat 13. His lack of effort was an insult to travelling Workington fans who made over a three-hour journey to back their team.

A brilliant win for the scorpions tonight! Must say the whole team looked fast and scored good points but in particular Luke Harrison looked to be riding really well and was riding the EWR with full commitment round the fence! As for Batchelors performance he totally baffles me! The highlight had to be in heat 13 when he decided to give up, got in the way of his teammate Vuolas and cost Vuolas any chance of getting after the scorpions!

Oxford vs Scunthorpe - KO Cup 1st leg - 9/4

Bit of an over the top reaction in my opinion. Yeah the side probably won’t win the league but let’s judge the side once we’ve have a few home meetings under our belts. For the majority of the team it was there first meeting of the year last night! -
Have said this for while the student discounts for speedway are generally pathetic. I’m a Scunthorpe fan and a full time university student yet I still have to pay £18 the same as OAP’s and £2 less than an adult general admission which is £20. When you compare it to football it costs far less and people wonder why many young people aren’t interested in the sport!

Yeah don’t think he’s 17 I believe he’s around 23/24 like it’s been suggested
-
My guess/ prediction for the 2025 team Luke Harrison obviously confirmed this morning I expect Jake Allen, Simon Lambert and Connor Mountain to also return. Nathan Ablitt has confirmed he’s not part of our plans and I think everyone expects Howarth to be on his way. In my opinion it’s also time to move on from MPT on his day incredible but that day doesn’t come about enough unfortunately. So coming on I’d like to see a solid enough number one maybe Steve Worrall could be a good option or even Lewis Kerr. Also would like to see Zaine Kennedy back on a bargain average of 4.27 he has also hinted his brother might be interested in coming over so he would start on a 4.00 of course. Just my opinions and guesses I have no inside info - time will tell!

Really pleased to have Luke Harrison back !

To be fair the racing was far better than the score line might suggest -

It is all over the clubs social media they usually don’t put the preview out on the clubs website til about 24 hours before -
Because if the last digit is 5 or higher you round up
-
2.5 percent of 3.00 is 0.075 rounded up to 0.08 means he’s 2.92 do you seriously think the other promoters would allow this if it wasn’t the correct way of working it out
-
If you look at their averages in all home league meetings last year Jake Allen averaged 7.79, Pam Toft averaged 9.18 and Lambert averaged 7.24 so I don’t think this is an absurd claim as you think. Importantly what I would say this is in home meetings. Not forgetting Kyle Howarth who averaged 7.74 home and away for Plymouth last year riding on a home track he supposedly didn’t like!
-
I’m personally happy with that team it will take a very good team to beat that top 5 round the EWR you’ve got to think Ablitt and Harrison will progress and improve their average as well
-
Are you on about Jordan Palin he’s recently announced his retirement ?
-
Suppose the average we are referring to is for team building purposes and not that actual average hence being allowed to go below 3.00 again. On the scunny website it’s 2.92 so would expect that to be right
-
Oh right yeah that means it will be Palm Toft and mountain then
-
I make Ablitt 2.93 because 97.5 percent of 3.00 is 2.925 which means it rounds up to 2.93?
-
I think it’s worded wrongly because if Hook is at reserve how can Thompson be in the main body when he has a lower average than Hook
-
Positive start to team building with Ace and Stene Pijper just announced
-
Thinking of some early rider options from the Scunthorpe point of view - Ryan Kinsley, Luke Harrison, Nathan Ablitt
-
Sad to see Jordan Palin has confirmed he’s retired from the sport.

Really pleased to have super si back
