Not sure how they’ve exactly worked that out, ultimately time will tell what his average is
-
4.52 if he gets the 8% reduction and then 2.5% for being British, or 4.91 if he just gets the 2.5% British reduction
-
Can’t see a long line of people wanting to have his job! Putting his money on the line year in year out. Yes the teams might not always be the best but at least he’s there giving it a good go. Let’s be honest speedway still exists in Scunthorpe because of him
-
Well suppose it might be?
-
Interesting listening to Godfrey on the speedway 360 podcast. Says that Lambert isn’t in the side and that he and David Howe haven’t decided on their final two yet. Perhaps looking at some international riders from Europe or Aus?
-
I thought Pickering was 11.64 because his final average in the prem was 7.76 x 1.5 = 11.64
-
If it’s Lambert and Ablitt, Ablitt would need the 8 percent reduction. Scunthorpe have 9.33 points left to play with and Lambert is 4.49 with British reduction and Ablitt would be 4.91 with British reduction
-
I don’t think anyone can really begrudge the lad a reduction. He’s a young British lad that will more than likely be froze out the sport otherwise! Anyway he might not be in the team after all!
-
As someone pointed out to me the 8 percent reduction for every season off is for Brits only. As for TJ I’m really not sure, haven’t seen anything for a while following his injury which was a fair bit ago now.
-
4.53 just enough for Simon Lambert to fit into
-
Ah didn’t realise that still two options!
-
So are Scunthorpe lining up at move to take advantage of the new 8 percent reduction rule. A few examples of new averages are down below! Tero Arnio 5.88 Thomas Jorgensen 5.40 Josh Auty 5.45 Jason Garrity 4.92. Then with British reduction would be 4.80 as quoted in speedway star!
-
Think he lives down south and is always poor at the EWR
-
Don’t think he would fit. He ended 2024 on 5.04 so would be 4.91 with British reduction. Also just realised Lambert is 4.49 so means we would have 4.84 to play with
-
So it looks as though it might be 1) Josh Pickering 11.64 2) ? 3) Luke Harrison 4.97 4) Connor Mountain 5.96 5) Michael Palm Toft 6.10 6) Simon Lambert 4.49 7) Ryan Ingram 2.00 leaves 4.84 points for number to two if my calculations are correct maybe Declan Kennedy? Maybe someone else?
-
I assume you are referring to Worrall? There was rumours about this but I hadn’t seen anything official? Be a shame if he has retired
-
So then the Scorpions have 15.43 points left to use on the final three riders. I’ve put together a few possible options below. I think the top option is probably the best however leaves us weak at reserve Anti Vuolas 6.87 or Steve Worrall 6.82 Michael Palm Toft 6.10 Any 2 point reserve or Max Perry Michael Palm Toft 6.10 Declan Kennedy 4.63 Simon Lambert 4.43 Michael Palm Toft 6.10 Zaine Kennedy 5.24 Paul Starke 4.03 or an assessed 4 pointer Anti Vuolas 6.87 Simon Lambert 4.43 Paul Starke 4.03 or an assessed 4 pointer

Delighted to have Luke Harrison back!
-
Might have to pick up speedway star this week to see what has been put! It’s tricky to tell whether that’s been put on the front as a bit of a headline but he’s on about speedway elsewhere
-
Saw the headline has anyone read the full article?
-
Tricky to tell really, there’s every chance they could be in the final four riders although they might not be
-
Seems as though there will be another signing announcement or announcements on Christmas Eve according to the clubs social media
-
Cluff on a 3 point average is a good little signing to be fair. When you look at his form at reserve for Plymouth he averaged 4.27
-
Yeah I also think he will be returning to the EWR in 2026. On a 6.10 average he’s got room for improvement and did demonstrate he hasn’t forgot how to ride the EWR when he visited with Edinburgh last year!
-
That’s what my thinking is
