Now that is a bit of good news assuming it is able to go ahead. It's the first small step to reaching the target of an NDL place in the not too distant future. No matter what is chosen to call the competitions in the interim period it is competitive track time that counts for youngsters at that level. The more the better really and practise time too. 👍

If only he had brought weekly sweets for the management things could have been oh so different ? 😎

That's the one ! ( Once had a sweet shop in Edinburgh )

Paco fast becoming Monarchs new "Candy Kid " ? ( You may need help with that one ! )

Certainly another "import" was expected although this one is a surprise. On the subject of 5.00s - maybe another to follow perhaps ? Or a different surprise ? For what it's worth the team I had in mind now that his identity* is known was : 1. Sedgmen 7.92 2. * Grahn 5.00 3 .Castagna 7.11 4. * "Import" 5.00 5. Pavlovarra 5.00 6. Ablitt 4.91 7. Frederiksen 4.67 39..61 Probs. off the mark with one or two of the above but quite fancy it anyway. May generate a lot of new interest from the fans though ?

Would like to think that Paco was nailed on as well as Sedgy and Victor Palovaara. Would also like to see 2 stronger reserves to give the team more balance.
-
Second that. You can still be a fan of MPT but not necessarily have him in your team. ( Ref : previous R/Rs )

Paco is a must surely and maybe only one old face, but for me a stronger 6 & 7 could help to be the boost that the team will need especially in the 2025 "weaker" league. Set aside the sacrificial 2.00 average for a bit just to make up the numbers..

Great views of Windmills and seascape.

2 out of that 7 are probs a safe bet but not so sure about the rest. Time will tell !
-
Certainly a mix of youth and experience with the emphasis on "youth." An interesting looking 7 but one which does not immediately stand out as title contenders ?
-
Still only 34ish and still a top class rider but maybe not for Monarchs ?

But secretly it really wouldn't be the same without him ! 10 year contract ?? -
Reckon there would have to be at least 3 new recruits to allow any improvement on past two seasons. Couple of tough decisions potentially ?
-
For me it would depend on the other options available if another was to come in on a 2.00. Dayle was top home scorer in NDL for Stellar Devils with 10.24 average and 8.08 combined H & A. He has had a tough baptism for various reasons but certainly has made progress and gradually gained more experience with more track time in 2024. I would applaud him for that and believe that he will build on that in 2025 on decent equipment. It would also depend on who was chosen as #6 and to a certain extent who would be the 5th highest average selection. Maybe some clues will emerge after Conference to narrow the field a bit.

A safe bet would be the new air fence being blue & yellow again ! 😎

Loyalty deserves to be rewarded -
For MPT read R/R in both teams

It has been pointed out on more that one occasion that maybe there are just not enough riders available of the appropriate points average levels to make up 9 or 10 competitive Championship teams to the 38 point limit. Some have suggested 5 rider teams for Championship would probably be easier to accommodate but that in turn would very likely reduce opportunities for rising stars from NDL. Some teams could well be struggling to put out a decent side without signing overseas "imports". A tricky juggling act in 2025. Hopefully Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris have no plans to retire soon !

Fully agree with your point about the potential lack of heat leaders in general for 2025 i.e. to allow a balanced share out over the 9 (8?) Championship teams to permit a competitive league. These quick ( unofficial ) calculations suggest that there are likely to be 9 (nine ) x 8 to 9+ average riders ( as 4 are likely not returning for various reasons. Looks like also eight (8) x 7 to 8 point riders making a total of 17 riders falling into the "heat leader"? category - with a further 10 (ten) x 6 to 7 point riders presumably falling into the "3rd Heat Leader ?" category. Clearly we would not be blessed with an abundance of riches in this respect in 2025 if the latter does prove to be the case. Your suggestion about "freshening up" does seem a wise one, as if not acted on, the next stage would be more like "life support" !
