  1. Yes but ambulance would be still available, Only happens in speedway do these incidents, look at all other sports across the globe, there is medical cover for every scenario, speedway in the UK is now so second rate from the BSPA right down to the quality of riders who compete, and im afraid if an injury whether serious or not should be catered for.
  2. Could have a medic or nurse at track to distribute morphine, there are trained personnel I would gather at Brum who could do it
  3. I could bet my bottom dollar that Auty will be on his way to hospital now, in a car or a van, no way will he stay at the track for 6 hours, so what's the difference in taking him in a car while the meeting is going ahead
  4. That's 4 schedules meetings now and not one completed, yes weather plays a part and is beyond anyone's control, but surely there should be something in place at ALL events to cover a non life threatening Injury, ambulances should only be used for major injuries or things like heart attacks, Brummies fans must surely be losing patience by now, no excuses tonight's meeting could have continued, as someone else said if its an ankle injury someone could of transported him to hospital via a car/van
  5. Would not surprise me Brian that Birmingham City FC, will take up residency at the stadium, considering the trouble they are having with the stands at St Andrews, in fact a little bird informs me that BCFC club officials have sounded out the council, it won't go down to well with BCFC supporters if they have to relocate to Villa territory, Brummies so unlucky with rain offs so far this season
  6. To be fair rain was forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday in Birmingham this week, so 2 and a half rain offs in 3 weeks, the half rain off being the 30 all draw with Leicester, it is tough on the new promotion at the moment but things will pick up for definite. Looks like it's gonna tip down again in a moment, gone quite dark Erdington area
  7. Darcy Ward was an exception, he was doing things that others could only dream about 16 years old, the injury that finished him robbed speedway of the greatest talent ever seen on a bike, I am pretty sure Ward would have had at least 4 world titles by now, trust me no one will ever compare to Darcy Ward, he was one special talent
  8. Cant really see a massive attendance to be fair, Brummies fans know the tie is gone and Leicester fans know they have the tie in the bag, I get the feeling about 200/300 maximum attendence
  9. Track had hardly any dirt on it, very slick, whether that changes before the first home meeting who knows
  10. Pedersen was my guess, I still think it will be Adam Ellis
  11. Brummies will probably reveal the final rider on Wednesday, I did hear a small rumour about someone coming out of retirement to sign, Bjarne Pedersen... Doubt if its true, knowing Brummies luck it will be Brent Werner haha
  12. If Brummies do get Ellis and this Pearson kid, remain injury free for the season, then a play off place would almost certainly be guaranteed.
  13. Here, here. Brummies should have gone for lower division, whatever happens now its going to be a big struggle, will be very lucky to see the season out, and unfortunately the brummies will be finished
  14. That's what I think, would not surprise me to see the brummies not make it to tapes, unless the magicians hat comes out soon
  15. Come on Lawrence when are you announcing the 3 riders to turn us into the genuine title contenders you mentioned almost 2 weeks ago ? can we use 3 guests for the rest of the season, because it looks like thats what we are hoping for at the moment
  16. Excellent news, hopefully it secures a very long future for all at Birmingham Speedway
  17. Edwards Road opposite Station Road, if you go across the lights by the old Cross keys pub the poster is on a big advertising board that lies slightly back, there is a shop that does Icing its on their wall to the side heading towards the fire station, Google maps you can see it clearly
  18. I remember a few years ago, Joe Mclaughlin had a big poster put on a advertising board in a side street in Erdington, the poster is still there actually. Whilst the idea was good it was in the wrong place hardly anyone goes up that street, and trying to sell speedway in Erdington is like trying to sell glasses to a blind man. Brummies could do with stuff like speedway training schools etc to get kids interested, but I don't think the track owners would allow it.
  19. Maybe they are low income, unemployed. I'm not rich but food on the table or a night's speedway, I would 1 million percent, go for food. These people, who keep saying clubs will die if you don't attend, get in the real world £40 for speedway or feed a family for a week, it's a no brainer really aint it
  20. I never said khalid mahmood wanted the speedway closed, all I said was he stands up for his constituency, a lot of residents in the Perry Barr area hate the speedway, if he needs votes he will go with his constituents, to keep them onside. Mahmood did a great job selling the commonwealth games to the residents of the Perry Barr.
  21. You are correct about not being on the council and i never said he was on the council, all i said was speak to him, he does have a massive influence on his constituency, dont tell me the council dont listen to his twopenneth worth, Khalid Mahmood is a very influential man, trust me i know, i have had dealings with him about certain properties and ive come off second best following his input , also the city council, Mahmood is a big voice in Perry Barr. Jack Dromey is the same in the Erdington constiuency, if they had no influence i would be very surprised, anyway back to the topic, what would be the best scenario regarding the upcoming season ? ARC wont budge on the rent thats for sure, will the brummies run in 2022, if so what happens if the crowds dont turn up ? its all right saying fans need to turn up and they would kill off the speedway if they dont, but where does this income come from if your a family who live week to week, like possibly 60% of Brummies are and i,d say half the country at that, we all wish we could find that extra £70/80 a week to spend on our families for a night out, and i have said previously ask a kid 9 or 10 years of age would he like a night bowling, or go to the speedway, 99.9% would go bowling because they have never heard of speedway, i said before i took my grandkids to speedway for a meeting after 2 heats they wanted to go home, did not help with track delays i admit. Took them to T20 cricket at edgbaston, they loved it, keep badgering when they can go again.
  22. Not Rubbish, go and speak to the Perry Barr MP, he will tell what the locals feel about speedway
