  1. It is the Speedway Control Bureau that dish out the facilities not BSPL
  2. It may be the same for all 4 in race but only Leon had to go after every track grade so had it 5 times. You say it is hard to read the track after each grade and with the water going down it can be tricky for a rider so not enjoyable draw at all.
  3. The main factor at Glasgow looks like the shape and width. It will always be difficult at Shielfield to replicate this
  4. Fast times dont always mean a good track. Watching on BSN a lot of riders were getting an uncomfortable ride on both bends with the bikes lurching all over the place through ruts and bumps
  5. They have probably all been asked if they are happy for Mildenhall to join and add another fixture by this point?
  6. Nothing like a good dose of negativity in speedway! The Chancellor said this week that animals won’t stop building projects going forward 👍
  7. Seems a good step forward. This looks like the start of the formal planning process. Exciting times for Swindon and speedway! Hope all Swindon fans back the project.
  8. Doyley to ride in the Ben Fund meeting. Will b great to see him back racing and good on him supporting the very worthy cause.
  9. Your assessment sounds bang on. If the fixture list was 2 home 2 away then fans would pick and choose leaving clubs with a hole in their pockets. The current set up is best of bad bunch but may be most sustainable and that is crucial.
  10. This has been done for years in the Championship but the dates are then allowed to move too easily when rain offs happen
  11. That’s an interesting view for him to take. He could maybe take the opportunity of the NDL to improve and then move up a league where he would have earned the right to be paid more!
  12. Do you think all the current NDL teams breakeven or do you think some do it because it is right to provide a platform for riders to develop and see it as an investment worth making into the sport? Some may invest, others may trot out lame excuses.
  13. Never any surprise in Poole not supporting youth development but happy to cherry pick the work of others.
  14. Vinnie seems to ride with a bit too much throttle and too little brain. Maybe one of the senior riders can encourage him to be more sensible? That or the mounting repair bills for his bikes might do it. It a shame for those that get caught up in his reckless path.
  15. Should the other Championship clubs wish to have more fixtures then tough luck for Oxford!
  16. Perhaps they should have connected the drains to the main drainage network?
  17. What a shambles calling off with a perfect forecast and hoping that October will be better.
  18. Which 2 pointer will sign for Poole knowing they will be shunted out in June?
  19. That depends how you assess the product. Anyone watching speedway at Ashfield would say that the racing has improved year on year. If that is the product and it has improved then does the points limit really have much impact? Have admission prices increased by much more than inflation in recent times? It seems that too much importance is placed on the points limit every year by promoters and fans alike when there is so much more to the sport. Speedway fans often like to throw stones at their own sport rather than enjoy the sporting spectacle which is just as good as most other sports. There is room for improvement but are things so bad to warrant the frequent negativity that is on display on this forum?
  20. This point hits the nail on the head. While everyone would wish to see a higher points limit, probably most promoters even, all it would do currently is enable the richer clubs to hoover up the scarce heat leaders and leave the poorer clubs without any top end strength. While the points limit exists then it should be set at a level that encourages healthy competition in the league otherwise there is no point having a points limit at all.
  21. If there were no team managers, who would fulfil the four duties that you 'literally' feel is all they do? If you have ever been involved in any sport at any level then you will know how much management goes on behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning logistically, not including any of what happens on a match day.
  22. Correct that hopefully a small portion of land as you suggest could be found for such a multi-purpose speedway-focused stadium. They aren't going to wish to include some shabby facility though. As a minimum something of the like of the NSS should be aspired to as it is far more appealing for such a large scale development than something like a Leicester-type facility as an example. Speedway will forever be small-fry if we don't aspire to be big.
