  1. I don't care what level of racing we have at Glasgow next year, but 11 home meetings a season is a joke. With the millions that have been invested in the club and facilities it would be nice to showcase it more than once every third Friday. It's always easier to spend other people's money so the Facennas will make the call. On the attendance nonsense. Glasgow raced midweek this year and between that and Friday nights I didn't see a collosal difference. I am positive that if the club decided to double up and Oxford have shown that it can be done, Edinburgh fans would be there to support the away teams for sure to see the superstars in the league.
  2. Still waiting for Godfrey to sign his team for 2025 then we'll find out what the limit is. I'm guessing they're waiting to see if Duggy is staying with Poznan
  3. Diluting the product is an understatement, if they opt for 38 points this season, they are forcing the teams to build to 1.15 points less than the worst Averaging team of 2024..... Which was Glasgow.
  4. You mean pull a Richie Lawson ? and put Anders on a higher average than what he was worth and out of a ride for 2024?
  5. I get signing them in on a 4 to encourage the inclusion of British riders what I dont agree with is the fact they can't drop below 4. What they've done now is basically put any chance of anyone signing Celina for 2025 as improbable. If they want to encourage more British youngsters coming through do the same as the Poles and make the reserves British only. .
  6. Can anyone tell me of a good reason why foreign riders get pinned with a minimum 4 points average that'll make them virtually unemployable when their learning the trade and yet British Riders can drop to a 2?
  7. 3rd home meeting in 10 weeks, hope those that saw the TV ads remember us after such a long period of nothingness. If we don't go 2h 2a next season I'll have to start supporting the Monarchs down the road just so I don't forget what speedway looks like.
  8. Steve ruled out for 28 days and with potential guests being really short in number even a 28 day replacement is looking unlikely. With his 8.09 the anti taresenko rule, rules out all of the half decent riders on the continent. Maybe Riss fancies a month stint. The 28 days takes us past the 75% cut off but I'm not sure if they'll make exemptions because of long term illness?
  9. Everyone saying that Jason is a terrible replacement for Ace clearly don't understand the team building averages. He hasn't been brought in to replace Ace, he's been brought in to allow Paul Starke to be replaced with a 6 pointer. Looking at Ace's scoring, his last 6 meetings (minus the Scunthorpe meeting) were 3,0,2,1,1,2. Paul Starkes scoring was 4,3,4,4,3,3 The Gamble is can Matic and Jason score more than 5/6 between them? Per meeting, if they can then the gamble pays off. Also with these changes, James Pearson drops to #6 allowing him to take one of Garrads rides if needed and if jack is struggling at 2, take one of his heats too.
  10. They're the ones with the cheque book, I think for sure they are the decision makers.
  11. I would say it had more to do with the riding position Claus had at Birmingham which probably made him less than enthusiastic leading to his average dropping quickly?? he built his 2021 average up over 8 riding at #3 for Glasgow as opposed to Birmingham's #1. He then came back to Glasgow and built his average back up riding at #4. Additionally 2022 averages were based over 10 meetings, so having a cheeky 1 or 2 point meeting could get a big average down quicker. 2023 and 2024 it's based on 20 meetings so takes a lot longer to influence. Starkes 22' and 23' seasons were done from riding at 2 and 3/4. So bringing him in on a 4 sticking him in at 4 and expecting a massive improvement was always going to be a far stretch.
  12. Because he was on a "false average".... As an engineer who has an extreme soft spot for maths I F'ing hate that term, unless it is an Assessed average it is a true indication of a riders performance. It's done over 20 meetings so it is a pretty good indication of what you'd expect to see from his results. The only time I would expect it to shift dramatically was if Paul was suddenly to find himself on improved equipment and from an engine failure on Press and Practice day I think it was clear to see that wasn't the case.
  13. Well let's reward the guy who's put almost 2 points on his average by dropping him?? Guys won us two meetings when we've been utter garbage. Replacement wise for 4 points you can only get a non Brit who has never raced in the UK, or at any level in Poland..... So i'd probably stick with the guys that's scoring well round ashfield
  14. He should be at number 2 however Starke was never meant to perform so badly. At 2 Starke is paired up with Bomber in 3 of his 4 rides so the reality is we are more guaranteed to get 3-3's with him in that heat than having him paired up with Leon and having to rely on him in heat 14. But again you can opt for the "Cami's clueless" option if you think that sounds more probable.
  15. I think it's Poole at home or maybe away, very much depends on if the rescheduled Redcar meeting happens before then.
