Sam Hagon seems to be linked to a number of teams. Any news on a Connor Bailey comeback?
-
I think (hope) that the core 3 of the team will be Cookie, Troy and Tate. There are rumours Antti wont ride in the Uk but cant see that with him being established in BV team. Would like to see him back at Worky but may not fit with European commitments. Paul Starke appears to be Poole bound so their social media predicts. Can anyone explain what is the "reduction" applied to averages for team building Ive heard it mentioned but dont understand
-
Great to hear Tate is riding well, very positive.

I suspect one of the problems with floodlights is the associated investment required such as car park lighting and street lighting along the access road, the cost of installing floodlights would be a small part of the overall bill. Personally as a travelling supporter from Barrow the 3 or 5 starts suits us but wouldn't be keen on a 7 - 7,30 start as sometimes our grandson comes with us and it would be too late getting home. From a future view if the promotion seriously wants to stage FIM meetings I think lights will be recurred.
-
I think if Connor makes a return, and I hope he does, Workington would / should be the place Workington loved him and he seemed to love Workington. He had a lot of success there and its maybe what he needs.

I think the core of the team for 25 will be Cookie, Tate and Antti (Andrew says that Tate and Antti are club assets). Troy maybe if the points limit is 40 ish. Claus and Sam dont think they'll be back. Paul Starke would make 5. Which leaves 2 riders to find. Question for me is would the promotion go for a new 2 pointer and a higher average rider or 2 riders with higher averages and potential to improve. I did read somewhere that they were thinking of making a 2 pointer a must for youth development.
-
I certainly hope all the fears are unfounded as the promotion have put heart and soul into this venture and made a damn good job of it up to now. What ever happens it wont be through lack of trying on their part.Lets hope.

I think the new names to the UK may well surprise everyone Celina, Tate and Antti are dark horses and will be keen to make their names. I wouldn't mind betting the Premiership sides will be watching to pick up their next reserves.
-
Surprised to see Celina in the Peter Craven Memorial at Belle Vue, that could be a baptism of fire for the start of her British league career
-
Are you going to try and sign Stevie Nicks as our seventh signing and second female rider, she could put on a half time show as well with such favourites as "Dont Stop Comets" and "Go Your Own Way Cookie". Well I suppose if theres nowt else to talk about we can fantasise she would fill northside.
-
Has anyone heard any rumours ?
-
I see Plymouth will be after another rider as Nico Covatti has been injured in Argentina, he has a broken arm and leg so unfortunately will be a long job I think. Hope we have our 7th signing sewn up
-
I have been watching Antti Vuolas on youtube we may well have a dark horse there on a 5 average he seems better than 5 would suggest
-
Celina came across well, very good English speaker, hope all goes well. Fantastic publicity for the club.

I agree on that we cant afford to bring one rider, and not the number 1 to boot, in on more than others that would create a very unhappy ship and trigger requests for more money from others.
-
Hopefully that wont happen. If the six named riders are all good to go I suppose the worst case scenario is we have to sign a 4.5 / 5.0 rider which will mean we start with a weak team on paper, as long as the signing has improvement potential thats ok but we dont want someone just to make up numbers, Im sure the promoters are trying their hardest to ensure that isnt the case.
-
True but the doomsday clock is only at 90 seconds to midnight so 2 minutes is a luxury world will end before the signing , Only joking but just getting frustrated.
-
Sorry to say but the 7th rider announcement dragged on too long now people are getting bored with the uncertainty, you can see that by the number, or lack of posts recently. I know some posters will say plenty of time yet but the clock is ticking.
-
Thinking from the other side of the argument there is now a group of riders without a club for 2024 who you would think want to ride so there may be a good deal to be struck.
-
I agree hanging on to get a suitable rider at the price you can afford could back fire, I hope it hasnt at this late stage.
-
I agree totally, I personally am thankful we have championship racing again. I think initially steady away should be the plan, we can break eggs with big sticks once things are established.
-
Who is available on a 6.32 average or less that isnt tied to a polish side so can ride at a uk Saturday track
-
Yep its gone on long enough now if the seventh rider is on the books
-
Yeah I thought early doors when Glasgow released him he would have been a certainty, but I think weekends were the problem
-
Yeah with his orange boiler suit on
