  1. Why does everyone seem to hate Woffinden on here?
  2. What is this article about Lambert that everyone is referring to?
  3. Unless it is new tracks/teams, there isn't too much that would be a surprise either way
  4. That is pretty much what I was looking for minus the logos, thanks for the help
  5. The existing data is fine, I have actually got all of that already. I am actually creating a migration process to convert the result PDFs found on the British Speedway website into SQL statements to fit my PostgreSQL database structure as well. Was just hoping for teams there was somewhere that had something like: Oxford Cheetahs 1975-2005 Oxford Silver Machine 2005-2007 Oxford Cheetahs 2021-now for example (dates might not be exact in the example).
  6. Yeah that was the best I found, but even then, the team names aren't always completely accurate. I was hoping this data would be nicely archived somewhere, but knowing British Speedway it probably isn't
  7. I am collecting data for a project I am working on and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find old logos and team names. I know there is some data out there, but it is not all in one place so was wondering if there was a place that had already collated this kind of thing.
  8. Sorry accidentally quoted both comments before I read yours
  9. Again like I said above, what were you thinking could be included out of curiosity?
  10. That sounds terrible, and also entirely unfair on the younger riders who would ride at 6 and 7.
  11. I know Lando Norris' clothing brand done a Speedway marketing campaign, but again that wasn't well utilised
  12. You can then explain to the Chelsea fan that Oxford had three teams to keep the sport running and then had Charles wright riding for them on a monday and then against them on a wednesday
  13. They could promote one of the teams in London that would be local to Chelsea fans. Just a shame there aren't any
  14. That is something I have always hated about speedway. How can a rider ride for multiple different teams. Also the constant forced changes to teams due to points limits would often make it hard to keep the same riders year in year out for the fans to build a connection to - especially the newer fans
  15. Where have the rumours the peterborough will be back in 2027 come from. Have they even got a track?
  16. Is this at Czestochowa, as I know there was rumours he had signed for Gorzow but had a break clause
  17. Someone else mentioned this the other day and I have since been in contact with the guy who developed the app to talk about ideas and how he done it
  18. Sorry if that comes across as me criticising what you have done, as I know how time consuming setting up databases and collecting databases can be. I am trying to do that pretty front end now and you are correct, it does take a lot of time, but hopefully I can find the time to get it done
  19. I agree with you, physical media and the real thing is always the best - put it this way, I wouldn't buy the digital version of the Speedway Star, but I will buy the physical copy. I am just trying to think of ways to make the sport easier to follow and understand for new and existing fans. If you could see all the scores, news, tables, rider profiles, etc in one space, it makes it easier to learn about the sport.
  20. You are right, it probably isn't aimed at you, but I am trying to think of how I can make the sport more interesting, easy to follow and accessible to people my age as that is the only way the sport will continue. My thought process with the programme argument for the people who have mentioned that is, if you gain 1 person at a £20 admission fee that offsets the £3 loss on not selling a programme
  21. Yeah I know they can be found with some digging, but again it is another site, with poor UI/UX, which is fine if you are a stats enthusiast, but not if you are someone who wants something quick and easy and visually pleasing.
  22. Lots of good stuff in here and all stuff that could be linked in one main British speedway app. Thanks for the ideas.
  23. The idea was to have a direct feed from the referees scorecard, as I know BSN do that and was hoping with the correct backing I would be able to use it as well, but as you say that would need support from BSPL/SCB. The main idea was to make this information and past meetings as accessible as possible as it can be found, but it is often in different places and not easy to find if you don't know. Someone new to the sport is not going to know of sites like speedway updates, but would be more likely to download an official app IMO. Also there isn't anywhere you can see a riders career history and stats, or more in depth information to learn about teams and riders.
