  1. Interesting stuff, thanks fsp. scb, I think lindback was usinng a similar method to rickardsson backt then... I think recall hearing that trick was one of the first to use laptops for data logging around the same time he introduced the penske race frame. Lindback inherited the frames after tony retired, so i assume he passed on other aids too!
  2. Makes sense. When you say "the only one in the gp, at least early in the gp",does this mean Nicki was the only rider known to be using it for his teams own reference, or is it something that only one rider is allocated at random to gather info? Now that I think of it, I'm sure rickardsson used a similar method to stay on top.
  3. Noticed this electronic display inside Nicki's bike after his crash last weekend, and wondered if anyone knows what it is. I've never seen or heard of something like this before on a speedway bike, and my first guess was perhaps it is some sort of temperature gauge? or a victim count for how many riders have fallen foul to him on the night?
  4. If nki continues in the same form he finished in, he will be a genuine challenger.
  5. What you say is true, I still stand by what I say in that tai was lucky not pick up a more severe injury though. He could quite easily have done what holder or Emil did. But he didn't and he was far better than nki and jarek at the end. Where nki and jarek gained from others misfortunes, they didn't do the business in the early stages like tai had done.
  6. Plenty riders ride through collar bone injuries, I would hardly call it an exceptional achievement, although very commendable and brave. I see you chose to ignore emil and holders injuries though which did indeed wreck their chances in your reply.
  7. As I mentioned on the pirates thread, alot comes down to consistency, machinery and luck. When I say tai was luckier, I am leaning more to the fact that he was able to continue racing with his injuries, whilst holder, ward and emil were not. Perhaps even push it to the Prague gp when emil hit the tapes in the final and pretty much gifted tai the win in that round, but perhaps that's being a pit pedantic? Still, nothing can be taken away from tai as he finished first overall and made alot of people eat humble pie in the process. That's speedway!
  8. As long as they can still mix it with the best, why shouldn't they continue? I find nicki just as entertaining now as he was at his peak.
  9. Sounds about right scb. Nicki and Greg still have a lot to show too
  10. Darcy Ward the most talented, Tai the most consistent and luckiest.
  11. Thanks RR. I should imagine we will go for a cheaper ticket, but if a VIP bargain were available then could be interested. You are right sterling does convert nicely into zloty. We are possibly booking the flights, hotel and coaches through speedway tours to avoid worrying about traveling from surrounding areas to gorzow. Any experience of such a tour?
  12. thinking of going to this gp, the vip tickets don't give you much detail as to what is included like the methanol club ones for cardiff? can anyone help?
  13. FWIW, i feel Bomber should be congratulated for having the lightning quick reactions and the quick foresight to jump off the back of the bike. He was obviously unbalanced by HA and if he had held on, would of collided into HA anyway, causing a greater accident. Perhaps if Bomber hadn't jumped off the back, this would of happened?
  14. i caught Torun v Zielona Gora, the riders were complaining of the track being slicker than normal but the quality of racing was still top notch Nasty crash for Darcy, glad to see he got up both times and carried on for the rest of the meeting.
  15. I noticed Hans creeping at least twice towards the end of the coverage tonight. The ref should penalise that, not AJ's gate.
  16. Also Rune Holta represented Norway in the GP Series before deciding he wanted to be Polish. Although Norway haven't put forward a side to compete (if they have then I stand corrected!) internationally, GP's are still under the FIM.
  17. You could argue also however that Rico is enjoying one of his best seasons for a while at the moment so he deserves the chance too? I don't feel Nicholls has rode well enough to have earnt a place in the team that rides in Leszno. Danny King should ride after his performances at the show ground. He really fought for the team.
  18. I moved this topic to this section as it concerns the World Cup Tommy I would keep Tai in and replace Ed with Lee. Unfortunately, Eddie seems to struggle on the big open tracks, where as the likes of Lewis, Tai, Lee, Danny seem to thrive on them. On the other hand you could argue Ed should go because he needs more experience on that sort of track.
  19. Good post. At the same time I hope he learns from this accident. I very much doubt he intented to cause what happened, especially when Hans is a good friend of his.
