  1. It was communicated that Erik can’t fly with his current condition, not that he can’t race. It does beg the question how was he expected to race in the UK, but as the Cheetahs season is now over why don’t we just put this one to bed and wish him well with his health. But not expect to offer a contract for next season. Chargers v Leicester was a good crowd and atmosphere yesterday, Oxford fans get your backsides trackside for the remaining 2 meetings when they’re announced 😜😁
  2. You’re correct in that I confused the two incidents. I was close to the Luke/Drew one by the start, Luke clipped the fence and his bike sped in front of him, throwing him off. On the other incident, Mitch locked up on the back straight by the pits and Max ran into him, Jody managed to avoid them both. There was no announcement that Max had withdrawn from the meeting so it looked like a standard R/S. Neither of these incidents were intentional so any suggestion anyone in either team was trying to take anyone out is rubbish. I hope all the riders are ok.
  3. Max didn’t withdraw, he completed 4 rides and came 2nd in his last race. Mitch locked up on the back straight causing the crash with Max, it look nasty. Luke clipped the fence in the Drew incident. There was an unusual amount of crashes tonight though, which is never good. The odd one was Vinnie breaking down at the back then withdrawing with an injury? Hopefully he’s ok, there’s no love lost between Oxford fans and Vinnie but nobody wishes him or anyone to be injured. I didn’t see any intentional dirty riding from where I was standing.
  4. You’ve obviously not been watching him week in week out… it’s not just that. He has had moments of brilliance against heat leaders, but they have been far and few between… Jack Smith beat him in the Berwick meeting and it was the only point Jack scored all night…
  5. I’d rather see Jody as a guest anyway, he’s a total trier and gives 100% every time and has strong Oxford support. Kennett’s Cheetahs performances were on the whole lacklustre to say the least with the odd glimmer of what he’s capable of - see last week 0,0,3,0. Of course guesting in a Poole jacket he managed to score 12 twice despite not getting near double figures previously… 🤔
  6. Kennett couldn’t guest for Poole at reserve as he was no longer in a 1-7 in any league as he’s dropped from the Cheetahs now Riss is back tomorrow. However, to get round that, he’s signed for an NDL team which means he can come in on a 5 average. Those recent low Cheetahs scores helped with that one… this has been on the cards for some time as he already had an agreement to ride for Poole after the Cheetahs season ended (reliable source), hence Poole made little attempt to sign anyone before they hit 75% of their meetings…he’s riding Friday at Edinburgh.. and no doubt for the rest of the season.
  7. OSSC (Supporters Club) have been doing various items in the downstairs bar at race meetings
  8. You will prob approach from the Roundabout off the ring road and head down Garsington Rd. Take the left at the traffic lights on the crossroads of Sandy lane, after Lidl, then first left. Walk back the way you drove and cross the main road onto Sandy Lane, stadium on the right.
  9. It’s only forecast as light, 1mm in the afternoon, over before 7. It was also forecast today and didn’t happen at all, dry all day, I’m a mile from the track, we’ve had a lot more rain than that and gone ahead. Plus presumably they’ve had ample time to work on the track. Should be a good meeting.
  10. Indeed! https://www.facebook.com/100057789200041/posts/pfbid0oqv2mt4xpLKprTXjJCBqZXhDzene4CQbJQYLuhsPH2zXjETwnbQmRbQn4oV9sxwEl/?

  12. I stand corrected, thought it was just the rumour mill again but this looks serious. It will be devastating if this causes any issues with the Speedway 😕
  13. Not this again, it’s old hat and nonsense spread by the anti-greyhound lobbies re any risk to the speedway, although yes sadly the illness part is I believe valid. How about a positive post after last nights packed out Cheetahs v Bees meeting… there’s no risk to speedway with crowds like that, they ran out of food after heat 4, and sold out of beer and spirits, and the racing was excellent.
  14. Probably not a big deal, as there are only going to be 2 Oxford teams next season they’ll prob switch to a week night again. I didn’t notice any particular improvement on attendance doing Sundays, which is a shame as a win tomorrow and they’ll be League Champions again 🤞C’MON THE CHARGERS!!! 💥
  15. Suggest you watch heat 1 again with the battle to line between Masters and Lawson if you want to see someone who doesn’t give up…
