  1. Agreed, it's not about what I like or you like or any other supporter likes. What songs are appropriate for a live motorsport event?
  2. There must have been around 50 songs played on Friday and you didn't like any of them... what do you want to hear? I wasn't at Berwick last night, if you were, how was the music there?
  3. I should have put a wee 😁 after my disco comment... and I don't disagree regarding the presentation, whether that's the announcer or centre-green, both could doubtless be improved. The music is only a small part of the night's entertainment overall, but the question of what is played as opposed to what 'could/should' be played was raised on social media last season and got a lot of comments but hardly anything specific. Conversely, it seems that the darts itself is only a small part of that night's entertainment, with most people seemingly only there to get tanked up with the 'sport' happening in the background.
  4. If I never hear 'lively Leon Flint' again it'll be too soon... see also written references to 'gritty', 'sensational', 'battling' or 'mouth-watering'. As for the music, I don't mind it, other than the awful 'We're the Glasgow Tigers' but at least they've stopped playing Europe! What would you suggest, since you don't like 80s discos, gay or otherwise?
  5. In your opinion, which will probably be shared by others, but the technology dragging the sport kicking and screaming into the 21st century says otherwise.
  6. According to the transponders, Flint beat Etheridge by one-hundredth of a second 🏁
  7. Agree re lack of interaction by any race winners, not just the Pirates on Friday. Rick Astley's first hit wasn't until 1987 but the point is still valid. It was an 80s playlist after 6pm but at least there was no Bert Kampfaert, Dean Martin or the dire 'We're the Glasgow Tigers'...
  8. Just for the statisticians / record keepers amongst us, the time for Heat 15 (missing from the referee's report & Speedway Star) was 59.13s
  9. The results are online - 2025 SCORECARDS / Downloads - Speedway Control Bureau
  10. Automated starts this year, the ref just presses the green light & the tapes are released after a random delay
  11. Kelvin not doing his homework... Jan Kvech rode at Glasgow in 2018 for the Czech Republic in the World U21 Team semi-final
  12. 1: 58.78 2: 59.79 3: 59.68 4: 59.51 5: 59.83 6: 60.89
  13. Good effort with the times, but have corrected them to 2 decimal places as we have the technology

  15. I only know the ages of some of the riders in the 1991 meeting... Lamb was 24, Little 18, McLusky 26, McKinna 30, Grieves 16, Coleman 21, McDonald 16 The 1986 riders were all juniors, although Rizzo made a few appearances for Berwick & Edinburgh in the 80s but with limited success - as far as I know all five were Scottish.
  16. Not quite... Michael Lowrie won the Scottish Under-21 title on 13 September at Powderhall (Edinburgh) which was part of the Scottish Individual Riders Championship, won by Scott Lamb, with James Grieves winning the Under-18 title. The Junior Championship was held at Shawfield on 13 Oct 1991 (points scored carried into the final - I don't have the race times) Heat 1: Grieves, Fraser Smith, Paul Taylor, Raymond Fosbury Heat 2: Stuart Coleman, Wayne Park, Stuart Crome (retired), Stewart McDonald (fell excluded) Heat 3: Coleman, Grieves, Fosbury, Crome Heat 4: Smith, Park, Taylor (only 3 riders) Final: Grieves, Coleman, Smith, Park (fell remounted) As Grieves & Coleman both scored 8 points, a race-off was needed, which Grieves won.
  17. 11 Oct 1992 Heat 1: James Grieves, Paul Taylor, Muir Templeton, Wayne Park (fell rem) 71.0s Heat 2: Stewart McDonald, Stuart Coleman, Grant Blackie, Raymond Fosbury (fell) 72.0s Final: Grieves, McDonald, Coleman, Taylor 69.8s 8 Oct 1995 Heat 1: Paul Taylor, Brian Mercer, Stewart McDonald (fell) 71.8s (only 3 riders) Heat2: Barry Campbell, Neil Hewitt, Paul McManus 70.2s ((only 3 riders) Final: Hewitt, Campbell, Taylor, Mercer 69.8s

  19. 1: 57, 2: 57.67, 3: 57.24, 4: 57.38, 5: 58.11, 6: 58.36, 7: 58.66, 8: 58.93, 9: 58.75, 10: 59.01, 11: 58.44, 12: 59.35, 13: 58.43, 14: 59.58, 15: 58.67
  20. 1: 57.28, 2: 57.96, 3: 58.54, 4: 58.28, 5: 58.23, 6: 58.79, 7: 58.9, 8: no time - race awarded, 9: 58.09, 10: 58.55, 11: 58.07, 12: 59.48, 13: 59.04, 14: 59.47, 15: 58.5
  21. Heat 14 would have been Brennan, Harris, Lampart & Janowski, with Bewley, Lambert, Zmarzlik & Musielak in Heat 15
