Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
Col replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He's in his fourth year with Belle Vue isn't he? While I'm sure he did drop to in 2022, probably in 2023 (Lidsey had a few matches at reserve early that year) I'm sure he didn't in 2024 - Mountain, Zischke & Vuolas were the none RS Aces reserves none of those would have attained a higher average. After 4 seasons though his progress has certainly stalled. -

And if Kings Lynn had a 9 pointer instead of one of their 6 points they'd have to replace another 6 pointer with a 3 pointer. Completely different team. Replace two of their riders with Zischke & Bewley and tell me if you think that team is likely to finish above any of the 4 teams who did make the playoffs. -

Well... Jason Doyle on the exit from turn 2 with a motorbike wasn't a Cluedo tonight... I'll take that. Kings Lynn were never making the playoffs with that septet! No #1 ..two past it but entertaining (can't gate) former GP riders & the enigma that is R,3,2,0,R Kilndt. -

Well done Witches, I suspect the tie will be over by heat 8 of the second leg. If it's Witches face the Tigers in the final, you'll have my support. Not sure who I'll support if it's the Lions considering Leicester are now my local track. -

And that's it I feel even if Bewley & Kurtz come up with 10-2 return from 13 & 15. One points scoring ride from each of Blodorn, Zischke & Mulford was predictable, Lidsey scoring only 5 has been the killer for the Aces. -

At least they are only using the drone camera on replays. -

It's not a surprise to me that Blodorn came good in heat 8, he often starts slow then finishes quite well. King moved which made Blodorn move, thought he'd missed it. Mulford has had his one good ride now too. -

Well that's Zishcke's customary single good ride out the way. Need one from Mulford now and the new crowned Garman champion to turn up. -

Don't think there were any options available other than another 3 pointer. -

Couldn't tell on TV, camera shot was head on to the riders, replay no use either riders were already moving. Zischke half a straight behind the other three. -

Västervik have Patryk Wojdylo rather than Brennan tonight according to their own website. -

Lidsey's league season ended in Poland last weekend but Kurtz' & Bewley's didn't until last night, I doubt they could get their kit from Wroclaw to Manchester in a van that quick! As it's a Monday, the protected night for British League, you'd hope so. Was the Indianerna v Vastervik meeting rearranged prior to last Thursday night when it was known who Belle Vue would be facing this evening? I honestly don't think Zischke has it in him to come to the party currently, I've not seen anything to suggest he is capable of consistently scoring points in the top flight. -
Birmingham v Leicester Mon 25th August PL2
Col replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I thought you maybe there and kept a look out but I didn't see you. Fairly dismal dusty affair, no sign of a water bowser perhaps it has been flogged along with photos at the top of stairs and the screens in the bar which were absent on Monday. Two passes I can think of. Zagar in heat 4 blasting around the outside of a Lions reserve and Hagon yielding first place meekly to Becker in heat 8 after he'd done well to hold his ground entering the first turn being the meat in a sandwich and shoving Becker wide. In fairness to Musielak he tried absolutely everything to get past Howarth in heat 9/10 inside, outside, cut back but the track was so dry & dusty he just couldn't find a way past. I'll not shed any tears over the loss of Perry Barr, any affection I had for it was 20ish years ago in the time of Lyons & Mole. The track hasn't been the same in the past 6 years, almost always dusty without much passing, the terracing is not steep enough so the view is limited and that 'Bus Stop' that has been erected next to the gate makes viewing even more difficult. But the fact that Cradley, Coventry, Wolves & Brummies are no longer operating means my nearest track is Leicester which is an hours drive away only if traffic obliges. Sheffield & Belle Vue and to a lesser extent Oxford are do-able there and back in a day but that's all. Sad times for the West Midlands. -

Easy win for Lions I suspect. Sad night for West Midlands Speedway, likely to be the regions final meeting. Don't forget your sunglasses & caps, it was bad at NSS earlier it's always bad at PB. Gonna be squinty. -
Not the best meeting I've seen at NSS in terms of racing but with a full crowd the atmosphere was very good. Bonus point might have been up for grabs had Mulford not hindered Blodorn for two laps in heat 8. Kept getting Morris & Pickering mixed up, which one scared Zischke out of a point in heat 6 or 7?
