  1. Seems mostly Diamonds supporters on here? As the thunder and lightening is not due until 23-00, I may turn up tonight, and see if new DJ is any good, just my his 3rd visit to Oak Tree this season. Please don't have the interval, it just makes the meeting go cold after it has built up with just 3 heats to go, and there is plenty of time to get chips during track grading. Interesting to see Somerset are having two meetings in one week and Plymouth reporting they have a fixture backlog, with the unpredictable British weather one wonders why it was agreed to have the number of matches extended by teams choosing another two teams to play for 4 extra matches, I assume this was thought of at AGM and the cut off date for Play Offs can be extended.
  2. That's good news, admit only attended 2 matches early in season so assume this has happened since then. If you bring back the fanfare at start of each heat and the "You have two minutes" jingle I may come again. I don't know this for sure, but perhaps if you play music that is x number of years old, you don't have to pay royalties. Anyone know?
  3. Great meeting, thought Jack made fewer mistakes than Ermolenko, Sam called Christian Heffenbock, Krystoff Hoffenbrook, but his worst was yet to come, "The German out front is Tomasz Gollob" I played it back a couple of times to make sure he actually said it. Sudden Sam was a great rider but obviously has suffered too many bangs to the head. You must be joking Jack saying Pedersen was in the lead when he wasn't and then he realised his mistake and said I must stop thinking he always wears a red helmet, and Sam "The German in front is Tomasz Gollob."
  4. The Premier League has been stuffed this year with Elite having priority over doubling up, too many riders missing and too many guests, just one of many reasons why I have stopped going.
  5. You are lucky you get riders tunes when they win a race, Somerset used to do it, but a few seasons back they decided against it along with the jingles, which was a shame as now there is little atmosphere, a great race track, great facility's, but needs to improve presentation.
  6. That is very true, I was surprised it said track waterlogged on Rebels web site. You will be pleased to know it has now started raining lightly here at 16-30. Will not have to water the garden tonight. Ex Rebel Christian Hefenbrock is riding in the European Championships this Sunday, on Eurosport.
  7. I live 15 miles from the track the time is 16-10 and it hasn't rained all day.
  8. BBC weather for Burnham on Sea for Friday is heavy rain from 16-00 until 22-00 then light rain until morning, but they have been wrong before.
  9. Leicester V Swindon June 21st, Peter Kildemand and Troy Batchelor missing for Swindon and Bjarne Pedersen missing for Leicester. You don't know from week to week who is riding, matches are won by who has the best guest.
  10. Has Stuart Robson recovered to guest next Friday?
  11. Coventry V Poole June 20th, 3 guests for the Bees and 2 for the Pirates.
  12. Thought Dave was good and what a fantastic match, much better than any British Elite rubbish.
  13. Jack may have been an experienced commentator, however, he got the riders gate positions wrong, the helmet colours wrong, who was leading the race and even who was in the race wrong, he got riders nationality's wrong. I assume he had a programme in front of him so all he had to do was glance at that and remember 4 riders helmet colours for 1 minute, the fact he could not do that is very worrying, I'm sure he is a decent bloke but that short and confused memory span needs looking at by a doctor for his own wellbeing.
  14. Can you come to Somerset on a Friday, can't hear music there and no jingles.
  15. It seems someone at Eurosport were listening.
  16. Totally wrong about Palm Toft makes you wonder if he had his Elite League bikes with him. Nothing on Rebels web site but just read in Speedway Star that their away match at Sheffield on Monday 28th July will be on SKY.
  17. In recent Elite matches matches, Palm Toft has finished in front of Chris holder, Josh Grajczonek, Matej Zagar and Stuart Robson, if Glasgow have any sense they will give him 7 rides at reserve. Will be checking on "Live Updates".
  18. It can't be the same as you have two riders missing. Definitely stronger with Vissing.
  19. Do Ipswich not have an alternative race night, most clubs do? Morris rode for Somerset because the Swindon match that night was a rearranged match, but if Morris had to ride for Swindon Somerset could have had a decent guest, whereas only a conference rider available to replace Pontus. If Pontus rides for Sweden on Thursdays, he will be missing on July 24th when Somerset visit again and presumably a conference rider again in his place. Also on the 24th July Nick Morris will be riding for Swindon against Birmingham. So Ipswich fans will be deprived of seeing two of Somerset's top riders.
  20. I am making the assumption that it was known that Pontus would be absent at least a couple of weeks before the fixture. I also assume that yourself and other fans would find it more entertaining, and prefer to see, Ipswich riders beating a Somerset heat leader rather than a conference league rider. I also assume that it would not be against the realms of possibility that the fixture could not have been swapped with one of the many remaining fixtures, and another date arranged with Somerset. My last assumption is that many of the dates of these riders absences are known well in advance, but it seems that the only time a fixture is rearranged is when there is a rain off and clubs cannot be bothered to try and produce a full team to entertain both the home and the away fans. You have Vissing as a GUEST for Worrall who should score more than he did on his last visit. Therefore the outcome of this KOC round could depend on who had the best guest in the two legs, Ipswich with Vissing or Somerset with Morley.
  21. I agree not fair on Worky fans who have booked time off, but that's not Scunthorpe's fault it's the crazy way the Premier League is run, there are so many examples of riders missing matches, Pontus for Somerset as one example. If you want fans to return then fixtures have got to be arranged to avoid, foreign league matches, GP qualifiers, doubling up, under 21 competitions, World Cup commitments etc etc, otherwise you may just as well put all riders names in a hat and your club pick out 7 names each week. Most if not all these commitment dates are known, so lets have some flexibility in the Premier fixture list.
