  1. I agree with every word in the article, it should be compulsory reading for every Promoter, in fact dump the BSPA and put Peter in charge.
  2. Gary May says the deciding factor against Nick was the number of matches he would miss, but that must have been taken into account and allowed for when he was signed. The cheer that went up in the club house when Nick walked through the door on the evening the team were announced showed what a popular rider he is. If Brady could not be accommodated on a 3 point average then it is he who should be out of the team not Nick. This makes Somerset a lot weaker as Aspgren is not the same consistent rider Nick was home and away. Brady will now start in the main body of the team on tracks he has never ridden. In 2014 we are now going to have the dubious pleasure of watching Nick, Josh, Alex, and Kyle riding against us, I have never been an Olly Allen fan and now with Aspgren we have two Rye House rejects. I don't care about all the politics and what's going on behind the scenes, I want to pay my money to support an exciting team with riders I like, and I don't want to see them racing against us. Fans want continuity, it's one of the reasons Mrs OT stopped going to speedway as all her favourite riders disappeared after one season. Speedway is a mess and I have decided to put in the reject bin and spend my money on something less frustrating.
  3. I'm seriously thinking of giving up on speedway, the whole thing is a mess, and the things I don't like about the sport now out way the things I like.
  4. Now that Peterborough replace Leicester in the Premier, hopefully the choose your own opponents for 3 extra matches farce will be dropped.
  5. I thought the 3 extra fixtures where teams picked their opponents was introduced at AGM because Leicester were moving up to Elite and as there would be one less Premier club and therefore fewer fixtures. Now that Peterborough are joining the Premier, I assume the stupid pick your opponents for 3 extra matches will be dropped.
  6. I sincerely hope all this is not true, I would rather watch Nick than Brady.
  7. Willowman, in answer to your question, it will be an air fence as polyfoam has recently increased in price. Unfortunately the quote button on your question does not work since downloading IE 11, perhaps the web site can update please.
  8. Got to be Starke and Kurtz for Somerset.
  9. I find it hard to believe that Gary May did not check all this at the recent AGM, however it would not be the first time that the BSPA have gone back on a decision.
  10. I would like to ask Taylorj a Worky supporter and Emilali, if there teams had the opportunity to sign Brady on 3 points would they have turned it down? From what you are both saying you may have signed him but pretended he was a 5 or 7 pointer, ignored his official rating (be it wrong or right) and only built your team up to 40-5 (5 pointer) or 38-5 just so you would appear fair, and not be called cheats.
  11. Don't know why everyone is moaning about Brady, we can only use him seven times in a match.
  12. Nutz says 4 reserves, don't agree. Newman stepped up from reserve to the number 2 spot last season and helped the team win the League, Wright is doing the same next season and I think he is as good as Newman and probably stronger away. Davies was good at home but poor away, we don't need to worry about winning at home, so Kurtz away won't be any worse than Davies. We were weak at reserve last season until Wright came in late in the season, and with Brady at reserve we will be stronger than last season from the off. So to sum it up, we have had to lose 5 points of our team average but have come up with a stronger side than last season.
  13. Jason Doyle 9-79 Charles Wright 4-30 Todd Kurtz 4-92 Oliver Allen 8-09 Nick Morris 8-84 Paul Starke 3-61 Brady Kurtz 3-00 If that's not a League winning team I don't know what is, Gary "magic" May has done it again!
  14. Alex Davies, Sam Masters, may be others.
  15. As Swindon have Doyles contract and he is not riding for them, he can sign for us and double up and we would have first call on his services, providing we can afford him!
  16. I'm sure you are correct as you usually are, what would I do with out you putting me straight? Brady is a 3 pointer because many of his ancestors were British, the fact that they were forced to go to Aussie on a prison ship is no fault of his.
  17. Speedway in 2014 will be broadcast by the Walt Disney Corporation as they already have one Mickey Mouse production.
  18. 3 correct Please keep up, I said on page 6 of this thread on 4th November that Todd Kurtz not wanted by Plymouth, I give all this info and nobody believes me. As I understand it, the Elite League club has priority over a rider services unless the Premier club has signed him first and he is doubling up, so for example Josh will have to ride for Poole and not Workington if home or away fixtures clash. Therefore some of the names rumoured for Somerset would be impractical, we already had the problem last season of riders missing because of a re arranged fixtures.
  19. Bugger! back to the drawing board. They didn't like the pasty and chips! Rumours are that Seemond Stephens is coming out of retirement. Don't think Kyle had a poor season, he was riding at number 2 rather than reserve the previous season.
  20. I wonder how many times Josh will be missing and riding for Poole? don't want Olly Allen It's 3-00 Josh 8-41 out Richard Lawson 8-28 in. Straight swap with Worky???
  21. How many times will Josh be missing as Poole have first call on his services as they bought his contract so he is not doubling up.
  22. Don't want Nick if his Elite club have priority.
  23. It's mostly the older generation because we don't get bored so easily and are easily pleased.
  24. Won't be happy if it's SKY because that would mean the farcical double points tactical remains.
