  1. Answer is yes. Don't forget season finishes Friday of next week the 31st.
  2. Somerset please note! Last weeks Scunthorpe match is perfect example.
  3. The match is on Motors TV on Thursday Sept 25th at 9pm channel 240 Freeview or 447 on SKY or 545 on Virgin.
  4. I have watched speedway at Swindon also and Hackney, Wimbledon, White City, Cradley, Reading, Exeter, Birmingham, Peterborough, Newport, Plymouth, Bristol, Coventry, Sheffield, old Belle Vue, Poole, Wolverhampton.
  5. Thought it just an average meeting compared to Oak Tree standards, enough breaks in between races to do without an interval after heat 12. Less dirt on the track than my previous visit, probably suited Klindt who did a lot of gardening at the start and was usually a bike lengths clear before the first bend.. 6 points from R/R at home still a worry. Good interviews during track grading, with Olly who said you could earn 4 times as much riding in Poland, and Brady, who said he has had an offer from Poole.
  6. Scott Nicholls rode at reserve in last nights Eurosport's TV match.
  7. The obvious answer is not to be standing on freezing cold terraces in February and November, but to scrap this seasons stupid idea of teams selecting opponent's for 4 extra matches.
  8. In this weeks Star in the Monarchs column it says "Away matches at Workington and Sheffield will now NOT be before the cut off."
  9. Wish both injured riders well, that's the problem with trying to run double headers, if there are delays, but it's the fault of all promoters by voting at the AGM to have 4 extra matches 2 home and 2 away against chosen opposition, perhaps they thought global warming would improve the British summer this season. Piper and Harrison riding for Workington in the first match and then against them in the Somerset match just enforces the gathering opinion amongst fans that speedway is now just a re launch of the old TV It's A Knockout. The result won't make any difference to Somerset finishing top as Edinburgh will have two away League matches after the cut off date, one of them against Workington. Just 4 points from 4 rides for Brady's R/R must still be a concern.
  10. Just 5 points from R/R so hope Brady back before the Play Offs.
  11. 6 teams in Play Offs two groups of three having 2 home and 2 away matches, top two of each group in final. The final is on aggregate, but as far as I remember the other matches are on normal league points, can't remember what happens if more than one team score same number of points, think it's aggregate then.
  12. As just pointed out by Gusworld, with new averages Nick can now take an R/R, something I did not realise when I posted the above, so R/R not so much of a disadvantage now, I have no doubt that Gary knew this when making his decision.
  13. Should be easy win for Rebels. Not sure about the decision to go with R/R for Brady, the club press release said ,"The rest of the team feel they are riding well enough to be able to cope." However it's not "The rest of the team" who will be taking his rides Nick and Olly can't and R/R only got 3+1 away against a weak Peterborough side. I assume Rebels are counting on having first choice against the opposition in the Play Offs and Brady will be back in time for final. The forecast was 5 or 6 weeks but even 5 weeks means he will miss the first two home Play Off dates on Rebels calendar. Rebels safe at home but Play Offs are aggregate score, so can only hope there are no rider injury's during a match and the four who can take R/R don't have an off night. Personally I would have gone for a much safer bet, and signed someone on a temporary basis, but possibly no one was available at the correct average. I would be surprised if Gary has not done a deal with someone to step in, just in case.
  14. A long wait for any decision on Ward's punishment, but rumour has it he will be banned from British racing from November 2014 until March 2015.
  15. Don't have the extra meetings you had this season where you choose the opposition, makes it luck who you get, give the League some credibility.Go straight into League matches, nobody seems to have noticed that every year clubs are struggling to complete fixtures with double headers or off normal night meetings, the British summer is not going to get any better. Either Premier has priority for a rider or you don't sign any rider who wants to double up, ride in Swedish or any other League. If that's not possible at least let the club have a guest, up to missing riders average, not a National League rider. Also if fewer fixtures, clubs could arrange matches to avoid any doubling up or foreign fixtures, now there's a novel idea, clubs thinking of their customers Don't have double point tacticals in the Play Offs, you don't have them in the Knockout Cup because it's home and away aggregate, so why have it in the Play Offs which is also home and away aggregate., If these thing happen I will become a regular attender again, whereas currently after many, many, years following speedway I can no longer be bothered.
  16. Apart from Mazares and later, Worrall in heat 15, Ipswich were pathetic, cannot believe none of them can gate or race wide, most races they were tailed off. Chris Louis interviewed on centre green and he didn't seem interested either, should have given Hopwood more rides at least he was trying. Bad crashes to Ollie and Brady, thought Brady crash was too much youthful enthusiasm as he was going wider and wider to try and get his 15 point max. Forecast is he will be out 5 or 6 weeks, even 5 weeks takes us into Play Offs so will Gary May pull another masterstroke and sign someone brilliant on a short term basis.
  17. Says on Somerset web site that Ben Hopwood is in for Ellis. Hopwood will score three zero's, so the closeness of the score may depend on Heaps taking 5 rides at reserve. Ellis injured.
  18. Enjoyed last weeks encounter against Monarchs and was going to this, but now read that this match is just another example, from those who run speedway, continuing to show no respect for their customers. (not Somerset's fault) Roland Benko absent for European Pairs, Tom Perry replacing him, Kyle Newman exciting rider and knows his way around Oak Tree absent as riding in the Elite League, three of his programmed rides will have to be taken by Devils reserves. Plymouth have visited Oak Tree twice this year and haven't had a full team yet. July 25th National league Dan Hallsey at number 2 and 18th April Barker missing for Elite duties. I can only hope some common sense prevails at the next AGM that will rekindle my enthusiasm for the sport.
