I read that Scunthorpe will miss a home meeting this week after promoter Rob Godfrey called off the scheduled match against Workington. The reason, Nikolai Klindt was required for a Danish league fixture, Godfrey said because it was not a Danish championship meeting he would have to go with a 3 point National League rider. He added, that's not fair on the fans as it's hardly value for money for them. Well done Rob, what a pity other clubs don't give their fans the same consideration.

Rye House V Somerset 7th June

no Nick Morris -
Nick Morris riding in Germany and missing Rye match, I thought he was signed because he said he would have less commitments, apart from Swindon. Pontus riding in a Swedish match and replaced by a National league rider, Rye missing Garrity and Tresarreiu. Can you wonder why myself and many others have given up on speedway. Have only been twice this year and in no hurry to go again.

The track has a 3 year contract, but will anybody return next year? Olle Olsen laid the track, say no more, the guy has done his best to ruin GP speedway for a long time.

In Daily Mail Tuesday 13th there is an article on a new treatment for Emphysema, it involves lung reducing surgery. The story is about a man who had this operation at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Apparently it was a great success, I wonder if Malc has tried this.

What drugs is Jack on? All he has to do is remember four riders and their helmet colours for one minute, and he can't even remember them after first bend, made even Sam "straightaway" Ermolenko sound intelligent. He really was appalling, couldn't tell one rider from another and can't even count to 4. I assume the guy gets paid for this rubbish, get shot of him quick.

Somerset V Workington Koc 9th April

Followed match on live updates and looked an impressive performance by Rebels. There was a letter in last weeks Star about matches lasting too long and the writer said, "The worst idea in recent years was to have a long interval after heat 10 or 11 completely destroying the momentum of a meeting that may be building towards an exciting climax" I could not agree more and notice Somerset still have an interval after heat 12, surely if you are desperate for a coffee or some chips there is plenty of time during track grades or while you have another delay before heat 15. If you want to get more people to attend you need to keep the action going, nobody wants to be standing around watching tractors for the sake of an unnecessary interval. ps sorry I got the month wrong, have been on holiday. -

Will be on speedway updates site. Four maybe five Comets posted on this and no Rebel supporters? I know I don't go anymore but has everyone else left? -
Surprised no post started for this match, so thought I would start one. Rebels will find it hard to pull back 14 points without Nick Morris. Stuart Robson will have to do better than the 5 points he scored on his last visit to Oak Tree. It just shows what a crazy sport speedway has become when Robson rides against rebels one week and for them the next, who progresses to the next round may depend how a Newcastle rider performs in both legs. One of speedway's unexplainable rules is that Robson is shown on the Rebels sight and in the programme with Nicks average of 8.14 against his name, when in fact Robson's average is 7.58 which puts him behind Olly 7.69 and therefore logically Olly should be number one. The reason is of course the guest takes the average of the rider he is replacing, have never understood why. The comets are without Ricky wells and Ashley Morris both riding in more important fixtures however Rene Bach came away from his Wednesday Danish fixture feeling ok, so should be in the line up. If you read the Workington column and the Rebels column in this weeks Star there is no mention of to nights three absentees, I wonder why? With The Rebels out of the League Cup competition they desperately need a win tonight.

Apparently he is now riding for Birmingham. -
Are you supporting your team even if there are riders in your team that ride for other teams, when is your team not your team but you are just supporting a team name not the riders. If it is advertised as team x against team y but some of team x and y are riding for other teams, is this not a case for the Advertising Standards Agency. Surely it should be advertised as some of team x with guests against some of team y with guests otherwise youi are not getting what you thought you were paying for.

That's what I thought, so how come Ben Barker is riding for Birmingham on Good Friday and not Plymouth who are at Somerset where Wethers is the guest. I thought Ben was a Coventry asset?

On the Plymouth web site it says Barker and Newman are riding for their Elite clubs. On the Birmingham forum they think Barker is not riding, my understanding of the rules is Barker should be riding for Plymouth. Perhaps he is riding abroad somewhere or he is sick. -
Says on web site that Nick Morris will be missing on Friday and for The Devils,Kyle Newman and Ben Barker all riding for Elite clubs. I am puzzled by Barkers absence as although he is riding for Birmingham on Friday, I was told by Plymouth poster, he was not a Brummies asset but a Coventry asset and therefore the Premier club had priority, obviously not. In the return match on Saturday Jensen is missing for Plymouth as he is away on a much more important Danish U21 match. Should be full points for Rebels in both matches.

Looking at the race times, last week only 2 races in the 59 secs bracket, but last night in second half of match there were 7 races in the 59's. Also last week 5 races in the 57 sec bracket, but 58 the best last night. Perhaps why Brady not so good.
