Cheapest Speedway Admission In Premier
oldtimer replied to oldtimer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thought I read it in The Star, but have thrown that copy out, so could be wrong. -
Having a quick look at admission prices for 2013. Berwick seem good value with admission for 2013 at £12 and concessions £10, season tickets £160 and £132. Workington £13 with concessions £10 and includes free racecard. Sheffield more expensive at £15 but good discount for concessions at £11and free racecard. Don't have any info on any car park charges but any other offers to beat those above?

Well he has a Danish father so I was partly right! bacon, - Danish,- get it! DANISH BACON, why do I bother? Stefan a good signing and he is British which is a bonus. Will he miss home meetings competing in under 19 or 21 championships (whichever ones he is eligible for)? -

Since you had your picture in the programme you have got much older and uglier, so would be hard to recognise you from then. -

Thought some of you might be interested in admission prices and season tickets for next season, hope management don't mind me posting the details. Admission prices for next season are increased by £1 to £15 for adults and £12 concessions. Deb said programme probably same price, did not mention car park so probably still £1. Season tickets Adult £204 if purchased before 1/1/13 and £216 after this date. Concessions £163-20 before 1/1/13 , £172-80 after Season tickets will include 16 matches to consist of the following 12 League 1 KO Cup quarter final 3 Southern Trophy Having got my calculator handy, I worked out that, 16 meetings at the full adult price would be £15 x 16 = £240, so if you buy a season ticket before 1st January you save £36. that works out as 2.4 meetings for free. A good saving unless you go away for 2 weeks or more holiday in the summer, in which case it's cheaper to pay on the door. If you get a season ticket after 1st January it works out you get 1.6 meetings free. If you attend speedway on your own it will now cost £18-50 for 15 heats of speedway, admission, car park and you need a programme, if there are two of you and you share a programme and car park fee, it works out £16-75 each. I'm not counting petrol because you use petrol wherever you go and you don't have to buy food at the track, but how many people can afford now to go every week. I think all tracks need to put on more of a show and improve presentation and make it a more entertaining evening, otherwise I fear many who were previously regulars, will pick and choose matches or decide that 15 heats and tractor racing is not good value for money. Somerset Speedway is probably one, if not the best for value for money, a well prepared track, great racing and great facilities, but the powers that be need to find some way of reducing costs so that future increases can be avoided, the new engine rev inhibitor may make a small difference to engine wear and rider costs but much more needs to be done either to reduce rider costs which leads to lower rider wages which leads to reduced admission prices or alternatively improve the entertainment. Fortunately the chancellors announcement this week that my state pension will increase by 2.5% will cover the admission increase. Forgot to mention how lucky we are to have Gary May, a man with his finger on the pulse when it comes to finding and signing riders whether it be the team at the start of the season or inspired replacements when riders are injured. I think he should be known as Gary "MAGIC" May. Well done "MAGIC" -

Where does Kurtz come into it? Deb said the number 7 rider deal is 90% done and fans would be pleased. Personally I think the new signing will bring home the bacon! -

CLAES NEDERMARK has not been retained by Newcastle and would be a steal on a 6.2 average. On his last two visits to Oak Tree he scored 10+2 and 11+3, albeit from reserve, but he beat Vissing twice. -

Robin Aspegren wants to stay with Berwick, easy for him to fly in and out of Edinburgh airport, so surprised if he moved elsewhere. Nick Morris is not listed in Scunthorpes plans and is based in Swindon. He wants a southern based track and to double up with Swindon. I thought I saw some Morris Dancers outside the Oak Tree as I drove past the other day. -

Odds On North & South Pl 2013?
oldtimer replied to greyhoundp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tyre costs would come down if there were a few manufacturers to choose from. -
When deciding who you want in the team for 2013, you need to consider the following: Tom and Alex can compete in the World Under 21 Championship and could be selected for the Team Under 21 Championship. Jason has stated he wants to compete in the GP qualifiers. The dates for these competitions in 2013 are: Under 21 World Championship 11 May 29 June 20 July 10 August 14 September All Saturdays Team Under 21 28 April Sunday 25 May Saturday 28 September Saturday GP Qualifiers 20 May Monday 9 June Sunday 15 June Saturday 22 June Saturday 24 August Saturday Perhaps flights can be arranged for some Saturday abroad meetings so our rider can race on a Friday, but there are bound to be clashes with home or even away match dates.

CRAP idea, so they will probasbly vote for it. -
Don't have to own any percentage of Somerset Speedway to express my opinion, I thought you would have known that?
-
No way do we want Fisher, a dirty rider. We don't want Holder back.
-
If I was team manager these would be my thoughts, not wishing to be too controversial ,but: Jason Doyle- A great number 1, and I assume he will still double up with Swindon, although may want to go Elite full time and has also stated he wants to ride in GP qualifiers, so perhaps a doubt. Alex Davies- Improved towards the end of the season and has done well from difficult number two slot. However I think he still qualifies for the Under 21 Competitions, he is 21 September 2013. What we don't want is riders missing again, it put us out of the KOC this season with Alex, Kyle and Tom missing. So unless he signs a contract to say he will put Somerset first, I would loan him out for a year. Tom Perry- was making improvement but has gone backwards towards end of the season. He was given a chance this season, but don't think he has shown enough, probably not the rider but his equipment which is not fast enough. Also another who would be in under 21 competition, so would let him go.. Jesper Monburg- Has done a good job coming in late but now 35 and unlikely to improve so would pass him over. James Wright-, inconsistant, and definately has to go. Claus Vissing- Think he has done well and should do even better if he can stay free from injury next year. A definate keep for next season. Kyle Newman- A great reserve and can come up with a heat leader ride on many occasions. Another definate keep for next season. So to sum up, keep Claus and Kyle, and Jason if possible and say goodbye to the rest.

2013 - Changes / What Do You Like ?

Bring back the Golden Helmet match race. I have just seen Ladbrokes offering 20/1 any of the above suggestions being implemented.
