  1. You mean Scunny is not in the West Country??? Great performance by the Rebels, living up to their potential at last. Excellent return by Nick Morris from injury, and Stefan, WOW what's happened to him
  2. WELL DONE Blindman, that's the correct answer, Somerset only team to have lost at Plymouth this season (twice). I have to say there were a lot of "odd one outs" I never thought of. Your virtual prize is on it's way.
  3. No winner yet, need team and correct reason.
  4. At least Glasgow were not beaten by the Workington team they lost to the Workington Promoters Select Team. Why not put all riders names in a hat and each week a team just picks seven names out of the hat.
  5. Spot the odd one out, a virtual prize to the first correct answer. Leicester Edinburgh Newcastle Ipswich Rye House Somerset
  6. I wonder if there is any limit, would it be allowed, if through other rider commitments and injury's, a team had R/R, 5 guests and a Conference league reserve?
  7. Swindon are missing 3 riders for their match against Birmingham (Thursday) Andersen and Kildemand are preparing for the Danish Final, with Morris injured. On Saturday Workington will use 3 guests and R/R against Glasgow, Howarth and Ashley Morris are in Poland for Team GB in under 21's. No wonder crowds are falling, there should be a rule that if more than 2 signed riders are missing the match should be postponed. If Glasgow get beat they can't say Workington beat them when the truth is it's a Workington select team, with only 3 team riders. If this happened in football and more than half the team were from other clubs, would the fans stay away? Would they complain? Why do speedway fans just accept this farce?
  8. Looks like I made the right decision. Doyle riding better than GP wild card Harris at Lakeside.
  9. Sheffield lost again at home last night, so expect Rebels to hit the 60 with ease.
  10. I would have made the effort if Doyle and Stead were riding, but have done something to my back last Saturday and I am seeing the Physiotherapist for the second time this week on Friday, so don't mind missing this match. If you want to arrange a collection for me Tiny to pay the Physio bill, I won't be too proud to accept it!
  11. Rebels reserves poor again, Doyle great and Josh, Kyle and after slow start Alex all did well. Only fair Rebels didn't nick a point due to the hated tactical.
  12. A pity this rearraged Sheffield match could not have been booked for Friday 24th May, when no fixture at Oak Tree and Sheffield available. Scunthorpe could have come tomorrow they don't have a fixture, and that would have avoided fans having such a busy and expensive week with Scunthorpe at Oak tree Wednesday 29th May, The Pairs at Oak Tree on 31st May and the British GP on the Saturday. The only reason I can think of why this could not be done is presumably the rule that says Doyle must ride in a re arranged fixture would also apply to a brought forward fixture (Scunthorpe) as suggested. Speedway shoots itself in the foot again. I will be giving this one a miss.
  13. Unless we move house we will ALWAYS be a few minutes from the track, if we move nearer we will be nearer the track, if we move further away we will always we further from the track unless we move again, in which case we will be ********************** .
  14. Very strange, I'm 12 miles from the track and it's been dry all day, damage must have been done last night. Plymouth also off. Mrs OT will have to get something out of fridge now for my dinner.
  15. Looks like it will be Doyle and Josh.
  16. I think it will either be Dick, Mick or Jock.
  17. The new shale provided brilliant racing, the usually good Oak Tree track stepped up a notch last night to awsome. Full marks to Leicester for battling away after losing Nieminen and only 2 points from R/R, as often happens the score did not reflect the quality of the racing. An on holiday, Brummies supporter standing next to me said "God I could watch this every week." As already mentioned the new shale provided passing inside, outside and in places where no man had passed before, there are now more lines than on Mrs OT's face. The way I saw heat 1 was that Kyle Newman just clipped Graversen who went down, in the re run Gravesen tried to get his own back on Kyle and took out Nieminen instead, and that was not just my opinion. The ref got two decisions wrong (what's new) in heat 7 Magnus Karlsson was excluded but it was Stefan Nielsen who knocked him off and in heat 8 Kyle was excluded but it was obvious to anyone, other than the blind, that Graversen should have been excluded. Nick deserved to get rider of the night the best I have seen him ride at the Oak Tree. Tom still finding it hard work and it needs someone to point him in the right direction, Stefan looked more than useful now that the velcro sewn to his seat is keeping him on the bike. Also the music seemed louder, well done!
  18. Crikey!!! someone nearly agreeing with me. I was waiting for someone to say the rules don't allow my suggestion, but I think apart from reserves and your number one, you can ride in any order you like. Tonights match difficult to call, I think Leicester are a better team than their results have shown and they should be good gaters as apparently you can't overtake at Leicester. Somerset we are told, have apparently put fresh shale on the track which should make it more grippy, but with the dry weather, will they water a lot to keep the dust down or leave it alone. A different track could catch our riders out. If we lose a point tonight some questions will have to be asked, and our reserves need to at least score their averages.
  19. I read that Gary May could change the riding order for this match. For me Jason, Josh and Alex are our heat leaders, with Nick not as good as those three at the Oak Tree, a track he said he does not like. It does not make sense to have two heat leaders, Alex and Jason in heat 1, Alex has scored 11+2, 11+2 and 12+1 in his three Oak tree outings, so as our second top scorer lets put him at number 5 and Kyle at number two with an inside gate in heat 1. With Nick taking Kyles place at number 4, it will make us stronger in heat 14 where we are weak in a close match.
  20. What a pity no fixture could be arranged for tonight April 26th, Rebels usual race night, hope no holiday makers read the "Every Friday Night" advert and turn up.
  21. First visit to the track and was impressed. very hard to pass on the tight circuit and if you made the gate and hugged the white line you won. Not the luxury of the Somerset club house, but 3 catering vans and two stands, one home straight one back straight. Also you were right on top of the action and a packed crowd made for a good atmosphere. Also speaker system good with loud music, entertainment from both the Somerset (Rooster) and Plymouth Devil on the centre green throughout the match, start line girls, and a kids half lap lolly pop race to watch during the interval. A good evenings entertainment and presentation all round, something sadly lacking at Somerset. Also cheaper than Oak Tree, free car parking, £11 concession entry and £2 programme, Mrs OT making her first visit to speedway for some time also enjoyed it. Well done Plymouth. Stefan had bike problem in his first race and looked slow all night and Alex worth more than his points.
