  1. I was right in line with the Grajczonek/Sneddon incident and thought the ref got it absolutely spot on 2 counts... Firstly his dirt deflector went into Deeks front wheel and unbalanced him and secondly, Grajczonek ran him wider and wider until he had nowhere to go... There's hard racing and not leaving anyone anywhere to go... Was certainly the turning point of the match and the ref called it right. Can't comment on Tabaka/Grajzconek in Heat 15 as I was watching Cook/Doyle up front! Was it really just on a par with Berwick?? Wouldn't say there was plenty of dirt on the track, but there was just enough to provide the entertainment everyone saw... Erm... Doyle and Davies wouldn't happen to be home riders that weere on the wrong end of the result last night, would they?
  2. Typical Armchair supporter!!!! Wish there were a few more like it to finally push all the nails into the speedway coffin
  3. Hi SS, that's a good shout... Can add GP/foreign tracks too if someone can keep me updated with the current status!! Any idea the official track length of Cardiff?
  4. So am I right to assume that no track records have been broken this year?? Heard a whisper that Cookie has dropped the "new" Leicester TR - can anyone confirm? Are any others lowered? Does anyone have any information regarding some defunct tracks?
  5. It was released on Edinburgh's website yesterday that we will meet Ipswich in the semi's...
  6. Am I the only one that will get more and more annoyed with Chris Louis and his gadget over the coming weeks??? As insightful as some aspects of the sport can be, isn't it a bit much for him to be looking at his handheld tablet and making pretty zoomed in circles to see where a rider is looking for his teammate rather than talk to the rider he's interviewing??? Drawing lines on the track where his bike is pointing and which line the bike is moving out into? To me, it's too much! I like the technical stuff and the interviews but this is over the top to me... It's likened to the bit that Gary Neville does on Monday night football... Totally ridiculous. I do like Around the tracks mind... When I'm watching SKY, I don't have the updates on, so it's good to know what's going on. Maybe it's the way forward for teams to use Monday as a raceday and stop all the in-Europe fighting for riders... Then a live/update programme will come into it's own... I do hope Ryan Sullivan was just nervous though!!!
  7. Though my heart would say build a custom-built all purpose all weather facility in Edinburgh, my head would say for the benefit of the sport, we need to get it back in the Capital so somewhere in London where we could raise it's profile a bit would be my starter! Then maybe Cardiff and then Dublin and then we could have a "4-Nations"!!!!
  8. He wasn't the Messiah, he was a very naughty boy
  9. Where do you get Cookie's average of 7.76 from? Think he's nearer the 8.50 mark. Anyway, he's Armadale bound. Just a matter of time, and think there was a lot more to the reasons he left Derwent Park... Their loss;)
  10. I know this... You know that... They know everything... blah blah blah... I'd just like to see more knockers on here...:~
  11. Agreed, though not sure JD was necessarily having a pop at Edinburgh... The decision to run in 2013 had nothing to do with Glasgows potential of taking the Friday night superiority away from us. It was the fans that ensured the sport continues in the East together with a stubborn promotion, not wanting to let the sport die:) I think I've also read that the promotion had no problems with Glasgow running on Friday's if it was their wish. Think the objections may have come from a little further south.
  12. Top top signing.... <Insert contented smilie here>!!!! Doesn't leave us a huge amount if and when we get the PL No.1 on board... but got faith after this signing that the last 2 will only bolster Edinburgh this year... As an aside, I still think Newcastle look very strong - as long as the twins can continue where they left off pre-injury last year...
  13. Feel free to add Sam Masters to Edinburgh:) http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=1247
  14. If this article - taken from the Birmingham mail is anything to go by, it's just a matter of waiting;) http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/other-sport/birmingham-brummies-boss-graham-drury-341831
  15. Think we might need a wee bit more than that though to be fair... Theo, Deek, Cookie and Joe... Then the other 2 need to do the work of 3...!!! So... Sneddon (5.81) vs Wethers (5.66)... Hmmm, Have we made the right decision on which one stays???
  16. Just to add a bit of regulation to this, maybe the team should fall within a 42.50 limit (otherwise, you'll just get everyone's No.1...) and also not allowed to nominate a rider from the team you support...
  17. Don't think so... Didn't think he was an asset of any club prior to 2012... From a team point of view, I can see the sense in keeping a stable team using our own assets and keeping costs to as minimum as possible... However, I also see the sense in freshening up the side, bringing a bit of eccentricity back to the side which if we go with the class of 2012, CC and JT apart, are stale at Armadale right now... I think probably, we may well see 4-5 of last years squad return... I'm hoping though for a signing that's going to make people say that "it's worth getting along to Armadale every Friday night to see this guy race..." Time will tell... For me, Jozsef was a must, as is Cookie. The rest can fall into place behind them...
  18. In one word... No no no no no no no no no no no no no no
  19. There'll be a meeting at Livingston FC on Monday 12th and it'll be announced probably between that and the AGM on whether Edinburgh intend to come to the tapes in 2013...
  20. Congratulations to Scunthorpe on winning the Premier League. Everyone knew the rules as the lined up at the start of the season and everyone did what they could to get into the top 6... We did it at Edinburgh by bring Jozsef back and we made it into the top 6 to contest the play-offs... I honestly believe we could have gotten into the final if luck was on our side, but alas it wasn't to be... c'est la vie. I see where other posters are coming from - the Edin/Worky match not being ran would leave a bitter taste in Workington mouths as they had a chance to get to the final with a win at Armadale... However, realistically, it would never have happened... But still they should've had the chance. However, it's all swings and roundabouts as things happened in the Worky/Edin match at Derwent Park which would've meant it ws Edinburgh having the shot at the title... But hey-ho, it's the way it goes... Two things that have been mentioned on here I do firmly agree with instead of sniping and looking at ways forward... Firstly, 4TT qualifiers are an absolute must. Some hate them but most love them... They bring the crowds flooding in and is something different in a meaningful competition. It also brings some kind of respect back to the 4TT finals which were a highlight of a season in years gone by. Secondly, If Newcastle finish top of the league, then seed them through to the final. At least give them the chance in the 2-legged final to win what they did throughout a full league programme. Then 2nd and 3rd fight for the right to challenge them for the Premier League. That to me is fair, then if Scunthorpe were to have won the league, they'd have earned it by beating the team at the top.
  21. We wouldn't be onto page 25 if the qualifying criteria for the GP was different... Firstly put the 9-15 riders from the GP into the GP challenge (this way you may not get qualifiers from the challenge who don't bring anything to the GP's - Ljung, Laguta etc...). Or at least split them into the two GP semi-finals.. And then...... Top 8 GP riders from previous year Top 5 from the GP Challenge World U21 Champion (If they have the setup team / finances to do the U21 rounds, they can do the SGP) 1 Wild card chosen by BSI/IMG (possibly to cover for instances like Hampel this year...) 1 Wild card per round picked by the holding club/nation Then in a couple of years time, everything will filter round to having the top 15 + 1 riders in the world on the world stage... You shouldn't get any picks based on Nationality or how well you've performed domestically... Earn your place amongst the SGP Elite and if certain riders don't make it then so be it...
  22. Can't help but think that the KO cup semi is there for the taking for the Witches tonight... Surely Wölbert could've guested??? Can see a healthy 20pt lead for the BWitches tonight...
