  1. We were hoping to get the meeting on as the rain had stopped in town. Unfortunately that isnt the case at the track and it is just too wet to get the meeting on. Apologies to anyone who had set off.
  2. We got a phone call on Friday evening just before 8pm asking if we could send a team to the Fours as Kings Lynn had pulled out and IOW and Stoke couldn't do it either. Blacklock was unavailable and Rutherford and Burton are both carrying injuries. We did the best we could in the circumstances and ensured that there were four teams in each group and even scored more than Coventry who tracked two of their heat leaders both of whom are PL standard.
  3. Yes you can still park on the back straight and on the bends to watch from your car.
  4. We can use the track pretty much when we want but there is the small matter of work and life outside speedway that gets in the way. There are only so many hours in the week that we can work. Richard already works seven days a week without taking into account speedway or anything else. We do our best with the resources we have.
  5. It wasn't. Lee was to replace Jade although his average is higher than Ollie's. We didn't know anything about Ollie quitting until after the meeting at Kent.
  6. The forecast is good (dry all day). The sun is currently shining and the meeting is on
  7. He didn't want to come to Buxton and we couldn't fit him in either.
  8. Richard is allowed to ride NL but has to come in on his last CL average from 2004.
  9. Yes he did, Nathan Greaves guests tonight. Ollie is out with concussion.
  10. The meeting time was altered due to ambulance cover, the alternative was to postpone altogether. We will be back to normal against Rye House on the 26th June.
  11. Weather update - had a short shower around 11am for about 5-10 mins. Forecast is looking better as rain is due to clear away by 2pm and then come back at 8pm. Looking good at the moment and the meeting is on. Any changes will update here and on social media.
  12. Yes it was a nasty crash but thankfully Jade was given the all clear by the doctors last night and released from hospital at lunchtime. A bit battered and sore but still made it to Mildenhall for the second half of the meeting to help his team mates out.
  13. Its standard procedure at a lot of venues. We all have to be security conscious in this day and age unfortunately.
  14. Its not just the riders that have jobs either.
  15. He certainly has and will be riding on Sunday. If you are referring to Jade he is now a British Citizen and has his passport accordingly and in the eyes of the law is as British as I am. There have been many Australians and some NZ's throughout the history of the CL/NL do you object to all of them?
  16. Gazzac it used to be three home and three away but it was felt that was too long with the way the fixtures were. Some teams weren't getting new averages on that basis until half way or more into the season. It was changed a couple of years ago and has obviously reduced the time a rider can spend at reserve (having seven rides if they are scoring well) if they are outscoring their team mates.
  17. Exactly so no worries on that score regarding what the riders score or don't as the case may be.
  18. Details are on the official website www.buxtonhitmen.co
  19. Not sure how that works or if he can retain it as well but he is now legally a British Citizen just the same as I am.
  20. That's a fair comment but a bit harsh when they don't hold passports for everyone else. If they want to stick to the rules to that extent then it should apply to all. Its only the same as when you pass your driving test you have to wait for your licence to be processed but you can still drive.
  21. The Birmingham promotion were informed of our no 8 on Wednesday morning. Why it wasn't dealt with before the meeting I don't know. As for Jade's situation nothing to do with the team manager. Jade's legal status as a British Citizen is the same as myself and I presume yourself. One thing I do know is that this rule has not been applied consistently across the board. As for obtaining the passport the only way it would be declined is if you have a criminal record which is not the case. On Monday afternoon we were told it was OK for Jade to ride, this decision was then reversed hence why R/R was permitted.
  22. They did indeed. The snow last week caught many out and people were stuck in some places.
  23. John Leslie - Both clubs have agreed that with the weather as it is and what we have had previously over the last couple of weeks the damage is already done. This week alone we have had rain, sleet and snow in Buxton. There is no way we can run at the weekend so why not let everyone know. Don't see why we are criticised for letting people know in plenty of time, damned if you do and damned if you don't. Some had pre booked accommodation and hopefully an early call off gives everyone chance to change their plans and not waste their money.3 Fredbogge - a press release explaining the cancellation was distributed at 12pm today.
  24. Not sure how you can make this judgment re Ryan at this stage. Everyone has to start somewhere so give the lad a chance. He has plenty of motorcycle experience and just because you have experience of Speedway doesn't necessarily mean you can lay a bike down when required.
