  1. Ha! Buried deep in a press release about Edinburgh meetings. Obviously not newsworthy enough for a separate release for the fans or simply trying to hide the bad news.
  2. It was funny there was never any hint or press releases of the guests Oxford had booked. It was almost like it was called off days before it was announced. Which is disappointing as fans had booked for the tour.
  3. It was there last night as I went over to show my Dad how to watch it as I had to log him into HBO app on his smart TV as ‘things have changed since last year !’ it had better on or I will be getting a phone call!
  4. Above all having any speedway to watch last night at Oxford is the real winner. Costs of a rain off or abandonment could have been catastrophic. Was it a classic? No Was it a fair and safe track for the riders given the expected weather conditions? Yes Were Oxford sharper out of the starts? Yes. I think some of the criticism of the riders given the conditions and personal circumstances are unwarranted. People seem to forget Lawson had a major smash and mechanical write offs recently so will be playing catch up with fitness and equipment. Sedgman dropped everything to drive down to Oxford so had no time to prepare and set up for Oxford. I agree he is not a track specialist but marketed that way to soften the blow of losing Riss. Oxford could have gone for the cheaper option of r/r so fair play to both parties. I think Newman rode better than points suggested but lost out from the gates but not his riding or speed. Rushen will be hell of a rider and was giving 100% every single second. The only rider that based on last nights performance that disappointed me was Bowes who didn’t ride like a team man and wrecked the run of his team mate in one heat and looked quite erratic in another, that said he has been used to the bigger tracks so could have been struggling with a slick, tighter track. But I bet he learned lots so take the positives.

  6. Probably suit Berwick moving the fixture if some of the riders have other commitments in Denmark that night.
  7. I have downloaded it on my iPhone, sky box and Apple TV box today. basically it is a replatformed sports element from discovery + platform. Looks like a lift and shift of content. you have to continue paying for tnt sports with your existing subscription provider. For me that is BT / EEtv.
  8. Yes, I see your point. Would probably find being called Northants Bombers or something less localised geographically may appeal to a wider audience. I know areas like Northampton and Wellingborough have quite a local rivalry. Somerset Rebels was a good example of naming a new team to appeal to more than just people from Highbridge.
  9. What amazes me is the amount of negativity towards the new promotion team. They are sinking much money into getting things up and ready to be in a position to run by May. They will live and die by their decisions. Just because they are not jumping to the timelines desired by people without any financial involvement or backing them is very unfair to keep bashing them. People need to get behind them and stop knocking them for trying to bring speedway to Northampton. Soon the keyboard warriors will be complaining about whatever nickname they decide on, then it will be the seven riders signed, then the design of the racesuits, then the cost of entry, then, then, then, the list will go on which is grossly unfair. UK speedway is dying on its arse and people need to unite and stop with the negativity towards pretty much everything and everybody who tries to run and finance UK speedway tracks.
  10. I was down there today. Add a foam fence and some pop up pits it is pretty much ready to go. This works for the GP’s looks like they have done lots of new tarmac there and is a very tidy main grandstand. best of luck to the incoming promotion.
  11. I think the major issue of another team/promotion running out of Oxford is the impact on the existing promotion. Especially financial impact as the same pool of punters would have to potentially pick and choose meetings between the teams / promotions. However it might appeal to the stadium owners the additional income. Floating punters tend to support the most successful team at the impact of the other teams operating. If it was for a few meetings only while Northampton infrastructure was finished off then Oxford would seem the logical place as it hasn’t a premiership side. Equally KL or Leicester could temporally host but they have existing Premiership sides.
  12. Pretty much same for me. Gives me a few minutes solice away from the desk and screens.
  13. Annoyingly my Sainsbury’s seem to have stopped doing it near me. Tesco has it but sells out by Sunday morning if I haven’t been in to get it. Good sign they sell out just annoying for me!
