And Tony Millard always tells us it was Bristol.

Who will be the chosen 5 for their Countries?
KevH replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Puk and KB have done themselves no harm tonight if they want a SWC place. 1. Nicki Pedersen 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Hans Andersen 4. Niels Kristian Iversen 5. Kenneth Bjerre stand by reserve Jesper Jensen -
Sorry mate - it had to be said

Of course it is - that is the whole point. -

To be fair, Nicki didn't swear once during his conversation with the referee - give credit where it's due! -
I thought they held regular practice sessions a Wednesday afternoon at Wimborne Road?

Why won't Sky let the "feud" rest
KevH replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree that the Nicki/Greg incident should be put to bed, but Sky are in the business of putting bums in armchairs in front of the television and this is the kind of thing which does just that. Don't expect to see the subject dropped for some time yet, and certainly not this season! -
I agree with all the posts above and the performance of both guys tonight underlines the huge potential they both have. Neither looked at all flustered and both rode the meeting of their lives. Congratulations to the pair of them and God am pleased NKI is an OSM asset. The future looks bright silver from here!

Me too, and in my opinion the ref got it all wrong and Crump should have been excluded for losing control of his machine. Yes, Nicki rode him wide but there were yards of track left outside them and as Nicki said he was leading and therefore should be able to take whatever line he wanted to. Crump just laid it down in an attempt to get a re-run and it paid off this time. If Crump goes on to win the Championship is he going to do a "Penhall" and quit the sport for Hollywood, because on his performance tonight he should do well!

Shazzy - don't bite mate, he's deliberately winding us up and Ross Gilbertson leaving them to join us says it all.

Danish GP Line-Up Changes
KevH replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Almost as many as we had at Coventry! -
Where was you when Ivan Mauger rode there then Kev? I was there Shazz and thought "what a poser" when he came out for each exhibition race wearing a different pair of leathers! OK, I admit that Ivan was a better rider (you can't argue with six World Championships) but Crumpie put on the best show in any league match imo.

Cardiff 2005 Forum block booking
KevH replied to Nevs's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeah that - and those brilliant one liners you come out with. -
The first time I saw Phil Crump ride was at Canterbury when he rode for Crewe. He'd not seen the track before but scored an immaculate maximum and broke the track record. Thinking about it, imo he was probably (with the possible exception of Joe Owen) the best visiting rider I ever saw at Kingsmead.

As Johnnie himself used to say, he wasn't a liar, he just stretched the truth beyond all recognition.

I feel sure that Travis McGowan will get the call before Craig Watson for Australia and Steve Johnston will be ahead of Boyce, Parker and Lyons. I could be wrong about Boycie though, because he does have extensive knowledge of the Poole track. Rafal Dobrucki will be in the Polish top four at the expense of Pepe I believe and if the Czechs wish to keep one eye on the future they could include Lubos Tomicek in their squad. I can really argue with your other selections although the Swedes usually manage to spring a surprise. And to be honest I believe the Aussies do seem to be red hot favourites on paper. -
Oh all right - nothing special really, just the old story of over indulgence in the old booze and clubs alegedly which had a bit of an adverse effect on his career. While he was under the wing of Ferreira, he was kept on the straight and narrow.
-
I couldn't agree more!
-
You're not confused, are you Kev? Very Jo
-
I believe they are reverting to the tradition World Final format with each rider having a total of five rides and meeting every other rider in the process. This will then be followed by an A and B Final for the top eight scoring riders.
-
What's that supposed to mean Jo? That could be read two or three ways.
-
Nice to see Seb winning his first race, hopefully his injury will hold out.

I'm a coward but I'm going on my own. You're welcome to join in with me, Susie. Looks like you've pulled Susie.

He sure had the talent, but lost his way when Mike Ferreira moved on! Is there a story there we should know Kevin? There is a story, but not sure you should know it.
