  1. The rule has never been published and Pairman recently said there is no rule despite promoters commenting on it at fan meetings. The wording of the rule would alter dependant on who’s asking anyway It was first mentioned the week after Zagar tweeted about returning (to Belle Vue). The promoters conference had taken place and a press release sent out detailing the changes but no mention of this until Zagar’s tweet. This kind of behaviour is driving the die hards away to the point we now have a dead sport. I just wish Ford had got into some other sport as he has killed speedway. It’s ok for him and a lot of the Poole fans on here, they can just move to another sport as their interest doesn’t go beyond “winning”. Real fans who haven’t already walked away due to Fords antics are left with next to nothing. Shame
  2. Heat 12 tells you everything you need to know about tonight’s spectacle.
  3. Cheers. It must have come in last year and I missed it. In 2016 both Klindt and Swiderski were signed on sub 4.00 averages. I think Jye might be the first effected.
  4. Looking at the Prem greensheets it seems the multiplyer between championship and premiership has changed. It’s a bit more fluid now rather that having one fixed figure. Mitchell 3.00 2.31 (1.3) Jye 5.06 4.00 (1.27) James 3.33 3.00 (1.11) Max 4.15 2.00 (2.08) Richie 9.13 6.55 (1.39)
  5. They’ve put Jye average up to 4.00 for us too. Whilst I can understand them upping our averages, the increase to James is odd.
  6. Are there any riders in the top tier shorter than Tungate & Bewley?
  7. The rule (or non rule) was brought in solely to stop The Aces signing Zagar. Woffinden and the pole were never coming back though Ford expressed an interest in the pole before stating this "While he finished on 7.32 at Wolverhampton in 2014, it is usual that if a Grand Prix rider has been out of British speedway for three years, his average will be reassessed. Different to the Zagar situation. The reason for stopping Zagar? Cook Hougaard Fricke Tungate Zagar Smith Bewley
  8. It’s Belle Vue they don’t like.
  9. I agree with you and that’s why it constantly baffles me that other teams get away with it. It doesn’t really, I know full well why The Aces got punished again.
  10. Most top tier teams have cancelled meetings at whim. Only one has ever been punished. Go figure. LOL
  11. Poor post that. Naming two riders out of seventy really show how wide of the point you’re trying to make. Imo each team needs a member such as this to aid the youngsters in their, er development
  12. I think Steve is in the top ten going into this year with his current away average.
  13. Having Damian and Rohan paired together at home should work, away it will leave us weak in those heats. Craig and Steve are our two best away riders going off last years averages so pairing them together away is a waste imo. Maybe we will have a different home and away line up or the numbers on the race suit were there before positions have been sorted. Steve should be placed in a HL position in a season when he needs to step up consistently at that level. With regards the result it should be comfortable for The Aces but early season meetings can often throw up odd results.
  14. I think Lindgren would take issue with that opinion.
  15. The top three are more than fine, Joe looks ok when compared to most No4’s. Paul is taking Andy’s place due to his ongoing injury problems though he’s been invited along every meeting to act as a kind of non riding captain. The reserves look weak due us being gazumped by one of the big spenders and Luke deciding on four wheels rather than two. I think Ben will move up after the first set of averages and go on to provide solid back up to the heat leaders. The home matches should have an unpredictability about them plus the added excitement a close score brings - both missing last year - so I’m very much looking forward to the NL again this year.
  16. “In fact two adults and two 17 year olds can watch The Aces for £40 whereas when we come down to Brum to watch The Colts it will cost us £52”. ?????????????
  17. It’s almost down to The Colts regular price but we let under 18’s in free. Well done though. In fact two adults and two 17 year olds can watch The Aces for £40 whereas when we come down to Brum to watch The Colts it will cost us £52. Ouch.
  18. Wow, that’s bad luck. I wonder if there was a weakness there? Makes us 0.07 stronger so nailed on for the play offs now.
  19. I must have missed the memo. What is it for?
  20. I’m pleased that people think we’re finally going to show consistent home form as for the last two years we’ve had the poorest of form out of the top three teams but conversely we’ve been decent away. Ken and Jack combined averaged 8.50 away last year and whilst I don’t think Jay and Damien will match that I hoping four from them plus some improvement from the rest will see us sneak a few bonus points. Must admit though I’d be happy to go with the pundits and see us restrict those home losses.
  21. Suprised at The Aces placing, I thought they’d be around 5th or 6th. A lot to do like you say.
  22. The powers that be have been very efficient with the one over 8 and GP rider rule, so it shows they can do it, though their motives seem highly suspicious. Saying it’s within the rules doesn’t cut it in our “sport” anymore due to their fluid nature. If/when Poole are allowed a 20 point head start I would still see fans saying it’s ok due to the rules. Its ironic that after years of rule breaking and dodgy deals, Ford is now feeling the pinch. You reap what you sow eh? Shame he’s taking everyone down with him but they can’t say they weren’t warned. Matt Ford. Self confessed cheat. Copyright Ouch 2004.
