  1. Can anyone explain all the goings on in the pits ? Great ride by Bomber in his last heat, fair ride my friend given the circumstances. Holder good rider still not a great rider. It may come
  2. Great post Setve perhaps we should move to Poole track , and give us a home track advantage!
  3. New Zealand we have mention of Jason Bunyan? With the greatest of respect he cannot be compared with the impact made by Wally Kilmister Also a shout out for Eric Langton in the England side. ROW Ken Mckinlay or should it be team GB? USA Wilbur Lamoreaux ? Sweden Ole Nygren?
  4. After a night to dwell on it not a bad meeting in spite of the weather and numerous stoppages and a ref who was at a different meeting to me? after his recent meetings for the hammers I was expecting more from Ritchie but in hindsight that was a bit unfair, why he was excluded in race 1 still baffles me? Steve showed why he deserved his place with some good rides and was competitive. Kyle again did not let himself down. Tom did as well as I expected in the circumstances and Joe I will be kind and say it must have been an off night. I do not feel the track conditions helped the brits. Was it 5 hours well spent to be honest no! (I live 15mins from the track)
  5. Agreed but did he come in as a Guest? I have a copy of this photo and have asked qustions but can only come up with Reg.

Ken Mckinlay (by far the best british ammer ) 6. Simmons/Hunter (Simmo long term/ hunter as a ammer)
  7. In the Speedway Post 1965 Phil says "since my league career finished at Southampton in 1952, I've done all my riding overseas."
  8. Not sure about Phil with Lea Bridge in 1929, But phil was a top man for High Beech in 1930! He also rode a lot abroad!
  9. My excuse I was very busy that year being born!

  12. John Fitzpatick rode for the Hammers in 1955
  13. Hope you have a good meeting on thursday!

I would love to go but cannot afford 3 meetings in the week plus travelling I'm afraid.

    Times is hard:-(

  14. Don’t be so precious Dave and don’t be so conceited that everyone’s jealous about the Aussies mate! People on the forum complain about most things ask Lee Richardson and Joe Screen! Because the Aussie lads, had a level of bravado at that point is common for Aussies as I see it. That is what made the Australian cricket team the best in the World a couple of years ago. However not backing it up with a win can leave them open to flack. Its life, get over it. Also I thought sledging was an Aussie sport. Or have you forgotten that. I hope you don’t get so chary when we take the Ashes next time mate.
  15. Did anyone watch the Cricket tonight! Young lad miss fielded and badly dislocated his shoulder. The crowd at first took the @iss but there was genuine concern after that and he got taken away on oxygen in an Ambulance. I bet none of the people watching felt good about their initial reaction but it is a natural first instinct if you feel passionate about whom you support. I have sadly witnessed, a rider killed and several badly injured in my time watching speedway. I will admit my first thought generally is that's done us a favour, normally that is quickly replaced with concern. However some crashes transcend this and no matter how passionate you feel concern will override the passion. I was not there last night a can understand the initial cheering for an opportunity for the home team. Whether I would have cheered would have been down to my perception of the incident at the time. As to whether people should shout in front of Rory’s mum, that depends if you know who she is. I have actually spoken to her a year or so ago but would not recognise her now. I just find it sad that petty squabbles should be aired on the forum.
  16. Steve I think it is the condescending tone with which you say most things, which gets up eveyones nose mate! Take a chill pill.
  17. Newham Recorder 14th July 20010! It was news to me as well? I will investigate
  18. Alan Sage was not involved but Stan Stevens had a ruptured spleen, a broken leg, a fractured pelvis suffered serious facial injuries and was put on a life support machine. Colin Pratt Had severe neck injuries , a fractured knee cap and head and internal injuries. Colin was subsequently advised to give up speedway or risk being paralysed. Gary Hay Had severe cuts to his head and face. Roy Sullivan a mechanic suffered a broken leg and facial cuts. Also killed was the driver and two cyclists
  19. I had been thinking of that scenario which would explain a lot Agree Steve what a wonderful tribute. Raniszewski, seems to have been a very popular chap! Looking at the photos, what an exciting period it must have been at the birth of Polish speedway the crowds and support looked fantastic. RIP Zbigniew
