  1. I can't see Max Clegg signed up elsewhere, rides Brough well and capable of increasing his 4+ average.

  3. By bottling it, I repeat, did Cookie only have one bike with him, could he not ride the bike Williamson was warming up? If one of my riders had done the same, then I would say exactly the same. Cookie and Stevie rode that awful Poole track brilliantly last night, and hope they do the same at King's Lynn. The Newcastle track has been fast and smooth for a number of years now, and certainly doesn't deserve the childish "Rough Park" tag You are going to have to get a rhyming dictionary out. For Brough Park read Newcastle Stadium. My apologies to Mr Campton, I'm 97 now and am starting to make mistakes. I'll get my secretary to proof read my ramblings in future.
  4. I started this thread asking for improvement from Ashley, Lewis and Ludvig. I certainly got my wish with Lindgren especially impressive. Changing engines worked a treat. I thought Workington were poor, especially after their good performance earlier in the day. Enough has been said about Cook, but I can't see how the British Champion had only one bike to ride, could not borrow one (we were told Williamson was warming a bike for him), not a good example from the captain in a last heat decider. Mason Campbell had one excellent ride, but none of the others registered. Two heat winners (Cook), their sum total. On another note, could someone confirm the result of heat 13. I have Ludvig second and Worrall third, but Barry last night had the reverse, as does the website.
  5. The second of two meetings today, with the aggregate winner moving onto the next round It's vital Diamonds pick up as many points from Derwent Park as possible to give themselves a chance for progress Newcastle will have Stevie Worrall back, and hopefully able to cope with the tight bends. I repeat what I said last week, but didn't get that is a big improvement from Ludvig, Ashley and Lewis. Track specialist Craig Cook should be well in double figures, his races with Robert could be classics. A busy day for riders and supporters, let's hope everyone comes through unscathed.
  6. Day of the meeting and no thread. Newcastle look to be on the defensive as Stevie Worrall not riding following his crash at Redcar. Rider replacement will be used, anyone can have a ride. Let's hope Lewis Rose and Ashley Morris raise their game tonight and that that the right Ludvig turns up. Welcome to Dan Greenwood, but it looks like a hard home debut for him. Glasgow must scent taking the points tonight.
  7. Might as well start this one. Unless new averages have kicked in. Newcastle 1. Robert Lambert 2. Ashley Morris 3. Lewis Rose 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5 Stevie Worrall 6. Ben Hopwood 7. Connor Coles Scunthorpe 1. Michael Palm Toft 2. Carl Wilkinson 3. Lewis Kerr 4. Ryan Douglas 5. Josh Auty 6. Tero Aarnio 7. Josh Bailey. Welcome to three former Diamonds, Wilkinson, Kerr and Aarnio. Can only see a heavy defeat for Scunthorpe, should be interesting at reserve level.
  8. Just goes to show what happens with a high scoring reserve. Thanks James.
  9. You're welcome, Keith it is. I've 99% of Newcastle home programmes since 1961 if anyone needs details.

  11. I'll get them to you later today when I get the programme.
  12. Likely line up, NEWCASTLE 1. Robert Lambert 2. Ashley Morris 3. Lewis Rose 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Steve Worrall 6. Connor Coles 7. Danny Phillips IPSWICH 1, Danny King 2. James Sarjeant 3. Nico Covatti 4. Cameron Heeps 5. Rory Schlein 6. Connor Mountain 7. Damon Hulme Ipswich return to the north east after a heavy defeat at Redcar yesterday. Newcastle will be hoping for a similar success.
  13. Thought I'd start this off. Hopefully tonight's first leg goes ahead, hoping Newcastle will keep it close. Expect Cookie to put in his normal high score at Brough, but I expect an aggregate win for the Diamonds.
  14. Barker has been useless. I see Ludvig has pulled out after two rides, anyone know why?
  15. Poor showing from Scunthorpe, 15 heats without a winner. Auty led for a couple of laps in heat 1, before Stevie passed him after making up an tremendous amount of ground. They did manage 11 second places. Robert Lambert was magnificent, winning easily in his 5 races with the meeting's 5 fastest heats. Stevie Worrall was also unbeaten. Great back up from the engine room, Kus and Lindgren both on 10 points. Ashley Morris was good value, his best ride was second in front of Auty and Bates. Victor looked uncomfortable with his new engine, while Danny Phillips beat Chris Widman three times, a good boost to his confidences with the play-offs coming. Scorpions were best served by Michael Palm Toft and guest Josh Bates, Their performance was summed up in heat 15, when Lewis King was chosen, but made no move from the pits and was excluded. A sad end to their season.
  16. Glasgow has unfortunately taken full points from Workington tonight, so making second in the league much more difficult. Our patched up side needs to take full points from a likely fired up Comets side.
  17. I see Ludvig had a great night at Edinburgh in the double header last night. A paid max against Redcar in five rides, and three wins in three rides against Plymouth before the meeting was abandoned. BBC weather for tomorrow shows an overcast day, but with no rain. Let's hope they're right.
  18. Starke must be on contract with Somerset, so they have priority. It's the same with Ludvig for us. Stevie of course is a Belle Vue asset Decent result tonight, but again we lose out. Only 4 points from r/r. Stevie would have scored a lot more,
  19. Typical as the forecast for the rest of the day doesn't show any more rain.
  20. The track was tricky, and I don't know why. Over the last couple of seasons or more it has been billiard table smooth, so now we'll get the tiresome "Rough Park" again . As to the match, the atmosphere was great, thanks to the Glasgow fans, and they probably deserved their point. Summers was magnificent, I wish Lambert had been there. Thanks to Fisher and Sissis, but with due respect they scored far less than we would of expected from Rose and Lambert. Palovarra quietly ran up another high score, it looked like he was on his own equipment, anyone confirm? Jury still out on Kus, we were told he signed to boost away performances, but that hasn't happened, and he's always likely to have a couple of horrendous races at home. He had one last night, but did have a couple of wins, especially in the decisive heat 12. No meeting next Sunday due to William Hill again needing the stadium. KO Cup meeting with Scunthorpe will have to be rearranged.
  21. Heat 1 78.3 Heat 2 80.9 Heat 3 78.2 Heat 4 awarded Heat 5 78.9 Heat 6 missed this one
