King's Lynn V Buxton 5th June 2013 7.30pm
Neil H replied to rhidassa's topic in National League Speedway
Good show by Buxton - hardly the landslide victory that the 1st posters were predicting. Congrats to the KL management for tweaking a decent line-up into a possible title-winning one. Interesting to see who comes out on top in the battle for best newcomer between Lambert and Ellis. -
Good meeting that was close throughout - both sides were fully committed and had a bit of bad luck along the way. Good to see Steve Boxall riding like we know he can and his races with Charles Wright were top draw - Steve's pass on Charles pass in Heat 15 was as good as you will see anywhere.
-
Slight correction Vog, it wasn't Tyler's home debut as he rode against the IOW. He could do with some extra laps after meetings with Tony watching him and offering advice.

Kent Kings V American Internationals 6/5/13
Neil H replied to cityrebel's topic in National League Speedway
With Gino injured last night and Rocco taking a nasty one today at Buxton, it could be a little late to draft in a couple of USA riders from over in the States for tomorrow's meeting Hope the 2 guys are OK and make speedy recoveries. -
I was told that he will at reserve until they have done 4 league meetings - possibly 2 at home and 2 away.
-
But how many track are as tiny as Plymouth? He had 0 problems getting around Buxton and never looked in any trouble at all. He reminded me of the first time I saw Mark Loram - let's hope he has just as successful a career as Mark did.
-
As I said in my earlier post, I think it was the best debut performance by a visiting rider that I have seen in all of my years watching Buxton.
-
Excellent performance by IOW - Ellis had probably the best debut visit to the Buxton track, he lived up to the hype surrounding how good he is. Ritchings continues to get better and gave good support. Buxton didn't really get going and were somewhat swamped by the visitors. Well done to all 14 riders in getting on with the meeting as the damp stuff arrived mid-meeting.

This from a stoke supporter brings the old phrase to mind - something about pots, kettles and a dark colour
-
According to the website, Adam Allott is our captain!!! Mr Povey probably has too many bigger sites to look after than little Buxton.
-
Hi Darrell, I thought I'd seen somewhere that Rob wasn't coming over this year but would be back next year. If he does come over, I'm sure he would be welcome at Buxton for a spin.
-
Well done to Matt on getting through to the Final. Plymouth isn't the easiest track to get around on your first visit. He did well as conditions were a bit iffy as well but he stayed on for 4 laps and reaped the benefit. Interesting to see Rob Branford is listed as one of the seeded riders for the Final !!!!!!

Excellent piece of work, well done. Every team has strong points and weaker areas so we should be in for a cracking season as teams are much more even. BW - thanks for supporting the boys through thick and thin.
-
Definitely won't be bottom of the league this year, more likely to be closer to the top than the bottom with the team assembled.
-
Nick was something of a 'known' quantity but Rob wasn't before they came to the UK.
-
I understand that Mikey is concentrating on other things (away from speedway) this year. He would probably have been back in the Buxton team if he had been fully available. BW, if you go back as far as 2002, then you know we had 3 'rookies' in that team and it did do too badly. We have that balance of youth and experience. Be positive, the boys will go out and do their best - they might just surprise you.
-
It took long enough (years) but Tom has finally signed for the Hitmen.

The NL fixtures have always come out later as clubs running 2 teams, like Rye House, have had to fit them in around their main team's fixtures and then there are discussions as to when the other NL teams can visit. According to the SS, Buxton hope to run a challenge meeting on April 21st as their first home meeting.
-
Excellent that Adam is returning, he was going well last year until we lost Rob and Charles but still soldiered on under the extra strain. He will benefit from starting at second string if Jayne can sign two riders to take us right up to the points limit. BW, still short of a few question marks etc. but it was slightly better.
-
From what I gather, Stoke have contacted Emerson and talked him into riding. Hardly the rider messing the club about, the lad said he couldn't commit to riding but things have changed and the Stoke management wanted him enough to go back to him again.
-
Why aren't Buxton competing in the Trophy, they always have taken part in the NL's second competition?
-
BW I see you didn't get any punctuation for xmas . Yes, Ryan is in the main body of the team as his average is higher than Tyler's and Matt's but it should push him on to the next level. I doubt that Chris will be back as we have a lot of points to play with for the other three places. With regards to your previous post slating Buxton's Press Officer, obviously you don't know how the club or press side works, so please keep your fingers off the keyboard when you don't know what you are typing about.

From memory, Loomer Road is owned by a Bookie. Maybe he ought to invest a little in his asset, since when have you ever seen a poor Bookie?

Interesting choice of stats that you chose to show that you don't rate Tommy Fenwick. Seems from your choice of stats that Tommy did better than Max Clegg, the same Max Clegg that signed for Dudley (and they don't usually sign duds). Come on, you seem to be very opinionated so let us know who you want.
