  1. The prostitutes are a particular menace if you're drunk. A couple of work colleagues were robbed by prostitutes (on the street) while on a drunken "stag weekend". I had warned them. I've been stopped a couple of times and asked to exchange money, but generally I walk too fast for them. Another slight annoyance about Prague is men trying to sell you drugs.
  2. And we do it to ourselves and that's what really hurts. Why are the Poles discovering new talent left, right and centre? Because the Polish authorities and the clubs combine to promote young talent, which they then ship over to other countries to gain experience. And you get British promoters saying how much the fans love Polish riders (which, generally, they do), but what about Polish fans? Last night, at Live Updates I suggested to a Wroclaw supporter that Lindback had done well in his Polish debute. The reply was that 7 points was unacceptable for a foreign rider - foreign riders have to score 10+.
  3. The Czechs have a grand prix but no permanent presence. The Slovenians have a grand prix but no permanent presence. The Italians have a grand prix but no permanent presence. Why should Britain be any different? If Scott Nicholls or Lee Richardson qualify automatically, then they should be there. But if they flop a second year running, they should be out. And we have never quite had the mentality of other nations. The Poles want to see Poles win and the Danes want to see Danes win and the Swedes want to see Swedes win, but we've always followed out individual favourite riders, be they Danes, Americans, Poles or Swedes. Yes, we'd be happy with a British winner - overjoyed, in fact - but we make do with our favourite foreign rider if that's all we can get.
  4. By being very good friends with BSI at the minute.
  5. I agree. But the thing about the GP challenge that BSI don't particularly like is that a rider like Chrzanowski gets into their circus.
  6. Next year's like tomorrow SCB, it never comes. But there's always people willing to believe in next year.
  7. TR's had the best bikes around for an awfully long time. Even last year, when he was in the mood, he'd be miles ahead of everyone. But he'd fall, or get a knock (Wroclaw, Prague) and that'd be the end of his night. This year he's showing the determination of old. The knocks aren't affecting him. And he's romping away with the series.
  8. It looks like we've reached that stage. Think if there's a permanent British presence in the GPs next year, it'll be an act of charity on the part of BSI and the FIM. Neither Nicholls or Richardson qualified, as of right, to be in this year's series and if they fail to get into the top 8 this time around, they should be out. But, if the Wild Cards are being done away with next season, I'd imagine we'll have a solitary rider from Britain, Slovenia, Czech Republic and wherever else GPs are held to maintain local interest.
  9. Have added the bonus points. When she is released by the Fairies, ZKZ Kitten will hopefully confirm the league table.
  10. And the Ekstra Liga table should look something like this: 1..Torun..20 pts..+34 sp 2..Tarnow..16 pts..+104 sp 3..Bydgoszcz.. 15pts..+43 sp 4..Czestochowa..15 pts..+18 sp 5..Leszno..14 pts..+26 sp 6..Wroclaw..13 pts..-15 sp 7..Gdansk..5pts..-63 sp 8..Zielona Gora..4 pts..-145 sp
  11. That's nothing tommy, I had R Kasprzak winning a race for a long time. Then I guessed he might not be there, so I guessed rider replacement. So thanks for clarifying that. I shall amend the scorecard.
  12. The same way Lindback did - he qualified. Unlike Nicholls, Andersen, BP, Sullivan and Richardson, who all relied on the charity of BSI and the FIM. Don't knock Chrzanowski, he's there on merit.
  13. I'd say the new system has favoured Hampel. If he makes a couple more finals - and he's more than capable of it - he'll have recovered the ground lost to most of his rivals by missing the 2 GPs.
  14. Only 7 are nominated. The 16th rider is a Wild Card. I think Sullivan will struggle to be around next year, together with Nicholls, Richardson and Chrzanowski. But Tomasz Gollob will be okay, not least because, lowly as his current standing is, his "banker" GP at Bydgoszcz is still to come. And few would dismiss the Pole at Bydgoszcz. A win there and he'd shoot up the standings.
  15. That's a very good point tommy. I shall amend the riding Nos when I get a chance. A little hectic at the moment. But not a good start for Lindback. Edit: Obviously he's picking up a bit now.
  16. His GP form is slightly misleading. He's scored 37 points in the qualifying rounds, which is the same as Hans Andersen and 1 more than Gollob. He's made a couple of finals which makes it look spectacular. I'd say his GP form is broadly similar to his league form - pretty inconsistent. He's pulled off some superb races for Poole this season, just as he's pulled off some in the GPs. The GP ones just stand out more.
  17. And yes, my lovely assistant ZKZ Kitten is still frollicking with the Fairies in Copenhagen.
  18. Thanks tommy. ZKZ will be hoping to keep the momentum going from last week's triumph over arch rivals Leszno. But Torun are at the top of the table. It'll be a tough task. Bydgoszcz will probably be without the injured Jonsson, so it's difficult to see them getting anything at Wroclaw. Czestochowa should easily brush Gdansk aside. Tarnow and Leszno looks the pick of the contests. The fun starts - with staggered timing - at 4:00pm BST.
  19. Either way both he and Iversen got seriously out of shape. It hardly gained them an advantage.
  20. TR has had the best equipment for the past few years. What has changed this season is his attitude and will to win.
  21. Iversen did much the same thing earlier. I don't think both wheels crossed the kerb. The back wheel hit the kerb and kicked the bike away from the inside line.
  22. Worth remembering that if you tag on the tail-end of last season, TR has won an astonishing 6 of the last 8 GPs. And it could, maybe should, have been 7 out of 8. The 1 that got away fair and square? Gollob's annual Bydgoszcz triumph.
  23. Well, I don't think the racing has been too good in the GPs this season. But it has certainly been a joy to watch the master that is TR at work.
  24. And my selections for the next round: 100 - J Hampel 100 - T Gollob I'm glad I'm not in Robbo's position - he could get taken from behind by Matt Davis in the next round.
  25. Not forgetting a certain Jaroslaw Hampel. He looks to be the pick of them.
